The spiritual center of Our Lady of Perpetual Help welcomes yesterday, Sunday, the Claretian missionaries who have come from various missions for the celebration of their fourth ordinary assembly which will last 6 days and will see the establishment of a new government.
“We cannot negotiate our relationship with Christ if we want to be daring in the mission”. A sentence that echoes the theme chosen for this fourth assembly of the Independent Delegation of Cameroon, in its spiritual aspect.
It resonated as a remedy to the spiritual diagnosis conducted during Lauds by the Very Reverend Father Joseph Mbungu, Prefect General of Formation of the Congregation. The Claretian Missionaries of the Delegation of Cameroon have been making their gradual entry into the first day of their 6-day Ordinary Assembly with a recollection.
After arriving yesterday, Sunday, at the spiritual center of NOTRE DAME DU PERPÉTUEL SECOURS in the diocese of Mbalmayo, the Claretian Missionaries of Cameroon, in the presence of two members of the general government who came for this great event, received the visit of the bishop of this diocese, Mgr Joseph Marie Ndi Okalla. And it must be said here, that the Claretians collaborate on the mission in this diocese. There is the Claretian Novitiate Anton Probst and the parish run by the Claretians in Nsen nlong.
Other highlights of the day were the speeches of the Major Superior, TRP Jude Thaddeus Langeh Basebang, cmf, followed by the reading of the message of the Superior General, Matthew Vatamattham, and the speech of the Very Reverend Father Henri Omonisaye, president of this 4th Ordinary Assembly, whose theme is evocative
ENRACINED IN CHRIST AND AUDACIOUS FOR THE MISSION: for a delegation at the service of reconciliation, justice, and peace.

On the 28th of February, Claretian Missionaries celebrated the Bible Festival in two parishes in Yaoundé: Saints Peter and Paul, Simbock and Saint Joseph’s Anglophone’s Parish Mvog-Ada.
The year, the Evangelium Bible Diaries arrived this year late due to the pandemic in the world. Christians showed real hunger for the word of God and came in their numbers to feed themselves on the word of God.
The Evangelium Bible Diary published by the Claretian Missionaries of Cameroon is being used officially in Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Chad, and Cameroon. Our aim remains to Proclaim the Good News through all means possible.
The theme “Proclaim the Good News” has been chosen for our Bible Pastoral Ministry. We celebrate the Word of God and we spread it by all possible means particularly through social media: WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, etc. The Bible Festival gives us the occasion to celebrate, preach the Good News to the whole world and encourage people to live and practice this Word in their daily lives. Through the Bible Festival, we also profit to present the new edition of the Evangelium Bible Diary and other publications done by claretians. There were many Claretian Missionaries, lay Claretian, and collaborators present.

Le 28 février, les Missionnaires Clarétains ont célébré le Festival Biblique dans deux paroisses de Yaoundé : Saints Pierre et Paul, Simbock et la paroisse anglophone Saint Joseph de Mvog-Ada.
Cette année, les agendas bibliques de l’Evangelium sont arrivés très tard en raison de la pandémie qui sévit dans le monde. Les chrétiens ont montré une réelle faim de la parole de Dieu et sont venus en grand nombre pour se nourrir de la parole de Dieu.
L’Evangelium Agenda biblique publié par les Missionnaires Clarétains du Cameroun est utilisé officiellement au Mali, au Burkina Faso, en Côte d’Ivoire, au Gabon, au Tchad et au Cameroun. Notre objectif reste de proclamer la Bonne Nouvelle par tous les moyens possibles.
Le thème “Proclamer la Bonne Nouvelle” a été choisi pour notre ministère de pastorale biblique. Nous célébrons la Parole de Dieu et nous la diffusons par tous les moyens possibles, notamment par les médias sociaux : WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, etc. La Fête de la Bible nous donne l’occasion de célébrer, de prêcher la Bonne Nouvelle au monde entier et d’encourager les gens à vivre et à pratiquer cette Parole dans leur vie quotidienne. Peuple de Dieu, mes chers fils et filles dans la foi en notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ ! Voici venus des jours nouveaux où la Parole de Dieu et son Esprit de vie redynamisent en nous l’ardeur à sa suite et nous éveillent de plus bel au combat : « N’ayez pas peur ! »
Dans nos tourments et nos inquiétudes, dans nos égarements et lassitudes, nous sommes souvent alléstrès loin de Dieu en laissant le doute et la peur nous envahir. La mémoire de la pandémie du COVID-19 reste actuelle, ainsi que les dures épreuves que chacun de nous a traversées jusqu’ici ! Malgré tous ces événements, qui laissent surgir une pensée de fatalité, le moment est venu pour nous de repartir du Christ. Repartir du Christ parce que sous la pression des vicissitudes et aléas de la vie, nous avons douté et nous nous sommes écartés de son chemin. Pour ce faire, il nous faut nécessairement adhérer au Christ et se réengager avec ferveur dans le chemin de conversion avec en perspective le renouveau de notre vie de chrétien. Cette entreprise n’est possible qu’à partir de l’écoute assidue et renouvelée de la parole de Dieu. Evangelium 2021, une fois de plus, nous l’apporte comme compagnon quotidien et la met au chevet de nos ambitions. Le saint Pape Jean Paul II disait dans Novo millennio ineunte n°39 que l’écoute de la Parole doit être pour le chrétien une rencontre vitale qui lui permet de puiser dans le texte biblique la parole vivante qui l’interpelle, l’oriente et façonne son existence. Avec l’Agenda Biblique 2021, proposé par les Missionnaires Clarétains, de qui nous encourageons l’effort, le chrétien a désormais la Parole de Dieu comme compagnon qui dissipe ses peurs de tous les jours, et peut faire de sa vie un don perpétuel, pour redynamiser son désir de sainteté et son élan de charité selon le cœur de Dieu.
L’Église, grâce à l’Esprit Saint qui éclaire la foi de ses fidèles, a toujours fait face aux épreuves qui l’accablent. Le cri de Jésus sur la Croix : « pourquoi m’as-tu abandonné ? » (Mc 15, 34) s’élève pour tous ceux qui se laissent embrigader par les souffrances personnelles et les difficultés communautaires ou sociales. Voilà pourquoi le chrétien doit toujours repartir du Christ pour se renouveler après son épreuve, le premier grand principe de ce renouvellement est le retour à l’Évangile (Perfectae caritatis, n°2).
Que la Parole de Dieu accompagne l’ambition de ceux qui s’engagent au combat contre la peur et le découragement, que son Esprit éveille la foi de ceux qui se laissent accabler par le désespoir et la souffrance, pour que l’année 2021 soit pour le peuple de Dieu une renaissance et un renouvellement de l’ardeur de sa foi que rien, pas même les calamités et les pandémies, ne peut ébranler tant qu’elle a Dieu pour forteresse.

We gladly announce that Evangelium Bible Diary 2021 is in circulation. In this edition’s preface you will read what is mentioned below: 
People of God, my dear sons and daughters in the faith in Jesus-Christ our Lord,
Behold the coming of new days wherein the Word of God and His life-giving Spirit renew in us the eagerness to follow Him and wakes us even more boldly to the call, ‘‘Do not be afraid!’’
Very often we wander far away from God in our torments, bewilderment, weariness and worries, letting ourselves to be overwhelmed by doubt and fear. Memories of the dreadful COVID-19 are still a current reality, just as are the trials we have each lived to date! Despite all these happenings that bring to mind thoughts of our fatality, the time has come for us to rebound from Christ. We must set off again from Christ because we have doubted and strayed from His precepts under the pressure of the vicissitudes and hazards that plague us. We, therefore, necessarily have to adhere to Christ and renew our engagement with fervour on the path of conversion, bearing in mind the perspective of renewing our Christian life.
Attaining such a goal could only be possible if we assiduously and continuously listen to the Word of God. Once again, Evangelium 2021 brings the Word to us as a daily companion, placing it at the head of all our projects. St. John Paul II said in Novo millennio ineunte, n. 39 that for the Christian, listening to the Word should be a vital meeting with the biblical word that yields him the living word which in turn challenges, directs and moulds his existence. With the Claretian Missionaries’ 2021 Bible Diary, an effort we encourage, the Christian, henceforth, has the Word of God as a daily companion that dissipates his daily fears, a friend that can make his life a perpetual gift and refresh, not only his longing for sainthood, but also the expression of his love according to God’s heart.
Thanks to the Holy Spirit who illuminates the faithful, the Church has always overcome challenges that overburden her. Jesus’ cry on the Cross, ‘‘Why have you abandoned me?’’ (Mk. 15, 34) rises to heaven for all those who shoulder personal, community or societal sufferings. This is why a Christian is called upon to always set off again from Christ to renew himself after His trial. The first great principle of this renewal is going back to the Gospel (Perfectae caritatis, n. 2).

Where do we begin teaching the Bible to Children? In effect, many think it is too much, too heavy, and our kids cannot understand. On this note, some parents feel the children will be intimidated and scared seeing the size of the book with some very challenging words. The Bible too is meant for children. Jesus himself enjoins us “Let the little children come to me and do not stop them” (Matthew 19:14).
Children are a blessing from the Lord. With these blessings also come responsibilities. As stewards of God’s
children, parents are responsible for helping children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. The Bible is also for Children. But, like any other discipline, we need to teach them the Bible in their own way. We need to guide and direct them. Parents are encouraged to teach God’s law “when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deuteronomy 11:19).
The Children’s Illustrated Bible is an endeavour to teach children the Bible in a fun and effective way. This first volume treats the story of cousins. By this, we mean Jesus and John the Baptist. It is taken from the first two chapters of the Gospel of Saint Luke. The illustrations help the children to kind of connect with the stories. It is our wish that the teachings to these children may “fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.” (Deuteronomy 32:2)
