All Saints Day is the day on which Catholics celebrate all the saints, known and unknown. All Saints Day beckons us to something beautiful; It reminds us of our great potential, the promise that lies within each of us. The promise of holiness.
Entrance Antiphon
Let us all rejoice in the Lord, as we celebrate the feast day in honour of all the Saints, at whose festival the Angels rejoice and praise the Son of God.

Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration, the merits of all the Saints, bestow on us, we pray, through the prayers of so many intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long. First reading : Apocalypse 7:2-4.9-14

As we adore you, O God, who alone are holy and wonderful in all your Saints, we implore your grace, so that, coming to perfect holiness in the fullness of your love, we may pass from this pilgrim table to the banquet of our heavenly homeland. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
The solemnity of All Saints is an ancient celebration in the Church. This feast mirrors the hope of every Christian. The Church set aside this day to thank God for all the men and women from every tribe and tongue who are now enjoying blessedness with Him. The saints were not supernatural beings; they were men and women of flesh and blood like us who lived virtuous lives here on earth. The saints are presented as ideal models for us (the Church militant) who are still striving on the path of holiness. The Christian goal, says St. John, is to behold God as He really is (1 Jn 3:2).
La nouvelle paroisse dédiée à Saint Antoine Marie Claret vient de connaître son érection canonique . Une cérémonie relevée en couleur avec la présence de l’archevêque de Garoua et du gouvernement de la Délégation indépendante du Cameroun .
La mission de Sakdje vibre depuis ce dimanche au rythme de la fête. Le motif est connu , il s’agit de l’érection canonique en Paroisse de cette portion du peuple de Dieu dans l’archidiocèse de Garoua . Saint Antoine Marie Claret a été une fois de plus honoré en présence de ses ambassadeurs qui en seront les administrateurs.
La mission Claretaine au Cameroun peut reprendre avec foi et joie ces paroles de notre Père Fondateur : « Aujourd’hui commence une grande œuvre ». Cette œuvre commence avec et pour le peuple de Dieu de cette localité. La toute premiere mission Clarétaine dans la Région du Nord Cameroun depuis la memoire du Martyr de Saint Jean Baptiste le 29 Août 2022, a connu a travers le décret D/AG/FAN/04/22/Bb de Mgr l’archevêque Faustin Ambassa, l’érection en Paroisse, avec pour Saint Patron Saint Antoine Marie Claret. La cérémonie officielle a eu lieu ce jour, présidée par l’archevêque de Garoua; en présence du Très Révérend Père Jude Thaddeus Langeh, cmf Supérieur Majeur et son Conseil. Au cours de cette messe, 124 jeunes ont été confirmés.
La présence du gouvernement de la Délégation a rehaussé l’éclat de cette célébration. Notons par ailleurs que cette présence du Pere Jude et son Conseil dans cette partie du Nord leur a permis de toucher du doigt les realites pastorales et les defis mssionnaires auxquels sont confrontés les Claretains déjà présents à Sakdje. ( le Père Destin Alolo,cmf premier Curé de la Paroisse et le diacre Carlos Seutio, cmf. Le Père Joseph Marie Belinga est l’administrateur du secteur autonome de Sanguere Paul où il travaille avec le frère Natty Valère,cmf.
Au 3e siècle, Quentin, romain, partit pour la Gaule avec saint Lucien de Beauvais et plusieurs compagnons pour évangéliser cette région du Beauvaisis et de la Picardie. Son succès provoqua la colère du préfet romain Rictiovare qui l’arrêta à Soissons, lui fit subir interrogatoires et supplices, le fit décapiter.

Méditation
Jésus nous invite aujourd’hui à la gratuité, à apprendre à donner sans rien attendre en retour. Il nous interpelle sur comment adresser nos invitations. En réalité, la charité ne devrait pas se faire en fonction des affinités ou des amitiés, dans l’espoir que ce que nous faisons nous sera rembourser d’un moment à l’autre. Le véritable don pour le chrétien c’est de venir au secours des nécessiteux et des laissés-pour-compte, ceux qui sont incapables de nous les restituer. Nous garderons ainsi notre trésor dans les cieux. Demandons à Dieu la grâce de voir en tous nécessiteux le visage du Christ.

Meditation
In today’s gospel, Jesus examines our hearts. Do we only show favour and generosity to those who will repay us? What about our attitude towards those who do not have the means to repay us, like the poor, the sick, and the disadvantaged? Generosity demands a measure of self-sacrifice. However, it does not impoverish but rather enriches the giver’s soul. Jesus indicates that true generosity springs from a heart full of mercy and compassion. He challenges us to bless and befriend those who cannot repay us for our concern and kindness. We should act and allow God to reward us for our actions.

En ce temps-là, entré dans la ville de Jéricho, Jésus la traversait. Or, il y avait un homme du nom de Zachée ; il était le chef des collecteurs d’impôts, et c’était quelqu’un de riche. Il cherchait à voir qui était Jésus, mais il ne le pouvait pas à cause de la foule, car il était de petite taille. Il courut donc en avant et grimpa sur un sycomore pour voir Jésus qui allait passer par là. Arrivé à cet endroit, Jésus leva les yeux et lui dit : « Zachée, descends vite : aujourd’hui il faut que j’aille demeurer dans ta maison. » Vite, il descendit et reçut Jésus avec joie. Voyant cela, tous récriminaient : « Il est allé loger chez un homme qui est un pécheur. » Zachée, debout, s’adressa au Seigneur : « Voici, Seigneur : je fais don aux pauvres de la moitié de mes biens, et si j’ai fait du tort à quelqu’un, je vais lui rendre quatre fois plus. » Alors Jésus dit à son sujet : « Aujourd’hui, le salut est arrivé pour cette maison, car lui aussi est un fils d’Abraham. En effet, le Fils de l’homme est venu chercher et sauver ce qui était perdu. »

La miséricorde et la grâce de Dieu sont insondables et ne font pas de différence entre les hommes. Quand elles touchent un cœur endurci, il finit par se convertir et changer de vie. Aujourd’hui c’est au tour de Zachée d’être interpellé par le regard miséricordieux de Dieu qui ne veut perdre aucun de ses fils, mais plutôt qu’ils aient la vie éternelle. Devant l’infinie bonté de Dieu, Zachée décide de rembourser jusqu’à quatre fois à celui à qui il a extorqué quoi que ce soit, et de donner la moitié de ses biens, car le salut de Dieu est entré dans sa maison, lui aussi fils d’Abraham. Nous sommes tous fils d’Abraham et Dieu a un regard miséricordieux sur chacun de nous. Accepterions-nous de l’accueillir comme Zachée pour qu’il change notre vie nous aussi ?

Gospel : Luke 19:1-10

He was anxious to see what kind of man Jesus was, but he was too short and could not see him for the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus who was to pass that way. When Jesus reached the spot he looked up and spoke to him: ‘Zacchaeus, come down. Hurry, because I must stay at your house today.’ And he hurried down and welcomed him joyfully. They all complained when they saw what was happening. ‘He has gone to stay at a sinner’s house’ they said. But Zacchaeus stood his ground and said to the Lord, ‘Look, sir, I am going to give half my property to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody I will pay him back four times the amount.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek out and save what was lost.’

Meditation
Jesus often visits at unexpected times and often visits the underprivileged and public sinners like the tax collector, Zacchaeus. Tax collectors are often treated as outcasts, despised and hated because they accumulate wealth at the expense of others. Zacchaeus needs God’s merciful love because of his sinful nature. In his encounter with Jesus, he finds more than he ever hoped for: salvation. His change of heart results in his change of life. The Lord is always ready to make His home in us if we truly repent like Zacchaeus. Do you have room for Jesus in your heart and home like Zacchaeus?

Bien plus, je me réjouirai encore, car je sais que cela tournera à mon salut, grâce à votre prière et à l’assistance de l’Esprit de Jésus Christ. C’est ce que j’attends avec impatience, et c’est ce que j’espère. Je n’aurai à rougir de rien ; au contraire, je garderai toute mon assurance, maintenant comme toujours ; soit que je vive, soit que je meure, le Christ sera glorifié dans mon corps. Jésus dit une parabole aux invités lorsqu’il remarqua comment ils choisissaient les premières places, et il leur dit : « Quand quelqu’un t’invite à des noces, ne va pas t’installer à la première place, de peur qu’il ait invité un autre plus considéré que toi. Alors, celui qui vous a invités, toi et lui, viendra te dire : “Cède-lui ta place” ; et, à ce moment, tu iras, plein de honte, prendre la dernière place. Méditation
L’humilité est une vertu qui pousse à la connaissance de ses qualités et de ses défauts. Elle n’invite pas à une autoglorification, mais plutôt à se mettre à la dernière place et servir les autres. C’est un chemin de maturité. Dans l’évangile, Jésus nous invite à être vigilants à l’esprit d’orgueil qui nous guette tous et qui nous pousse souvent à nous considérer plus important que d’autres. Il nous invite à être prudents pour ne pas se faire humilier dans les manifestations publiques. L’humiliation n’a rien à voir avec l’humilité. Demandons à Dieu de nous donner le don de l’humilité et de la prudence.

Meditation
Jesus’ parable of the guest invited to the marriage feast examines our motives for seeking honour and position. Many seek self-promotion at the expense of others. True humility is not feeling bad about yourself or having an inferiority complex. It is about truth in self-understanding and action. Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues because it enables people to see and judge correctly. There is always someone more distinguished than us, but we always have to rely on God to assure us of our dignity and worth.
Jude, also called Thaddaeus, is the apostle who at the Last Supper asked the Lord why he showed himself only to the disciples and not to the world. For many centuries he was scarcely venerated because people confused him with Judas Iscariot. He is the patron saint of lost and desperate causes.

Do you pray when faced with an incredibly important decision in life? Jesus is faced with one of such decisions. He has come to earth to show and teach people what God is like and how to have an everlasting relationship with God. He must pass on the essential truths of why He came to a few people who, in turn, will pass it on to others after He is gone. Knowing it is an important decision, He prays the whole night before choosing the twelve disciples. Again we see Jesus as a perfect model of prayer. He chooses ordinary men to take an assignment and do it extraordinarily well. Do you often pray to ask for God’s enlightenment like Jesus does, before taking important decisions in life?

Pour cela, prenez l’équipement de combat donné par Dieu ; ainsi, vous pourrez résister quand viendra le jour du malheur, et tout mettre en œuvre pour tenir bon. Oui, tenez bon, ayant autour des reins le ceinturon de la vérité, portant la cuirasse de la justice, les pieds chaussés de l’ardeur à annoncer l’Évangile de la paix, et ne quittant jamais le bouclier de la foi, qui vous permettra d’éteindre toutes les flèches enflammées du Mauvais. Prenez le casque du salut et le glaive de l’Esprit, c’est-à-dire la parole de Dieu. En toute circonstance, que l’Esprit vous donne de prier et de supplier : restez éveillés, soyez assidus à la supplication pour tous les fidèles. Priez aussi pour moi : qu’une parole juste me soit donnée quand j’ouvre la bouche pour faire connaître avec assurance le mystère de l’Évangile dont je suis l’ambassadeur, dans mes chaînes. Priez donc afin que je trouve dans l’Évangile pleine assurance pour parler comme je le dois.

Jérusalem, Jérusalem, toi qui tues les prophètes et qui lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de fois ai-je voulu rassembler tes enfants comme la poule rassemble ses poussins sous ses ailes, et vous n’avez pas voulu ! Face à la proposition des pharisiens qui souhaitent que Jésus s’enfuit parce qu’Hérode veut le faire mourir, Jésus ne change pas d’itinéraire. Il durcit plutôt son langage et leur dit : « Allez dire à ce renard : voici que j’expulse les démons et je fais des guérisons aujourd’hui et demain, et, le troisième jour, j’arrive au terme ». Jésus sait qu’aucune puissance ne peut hâter ou retarder l’heure d’accomplir sa mission du salut de Jérusalem. Il nous invite donc à avancer avec détermination sur notre route chrétienne, afin de continuer à réaliser son plan de salut pour l’humanité.
