Born in Macedonia, she became a missionary in India. Teresa had an encounter, in which she heard Christ tell her, “Come be my light.” She formed the Missionaries of Charity, who set up hospitals and homes for the dying. In 1979 she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work. Mother Teresa died in 1997 and was beatified in 2002.

Meditation
It is a big contradiction to assume the right to kill or harm or destroy life in the name of religion (which is even falsely interpreted just to suit our desires). We live in a world where those who do good are ridiculed, disgraced, left aside, insulted, harassed, and even tortured, while those who perpetrate evil are praised, raised, and acclaimed. While some are building, others are destroying. In a similar manner, the subjects of morals and religious studies have been taken out of the academic programmes of our schools today. Children are no longer taught what they should to build their character and be closer to God. Are we part of those who build or those who destroy? Something must be done by you and me.
Au 4e siècle, à l’époque de la persécution de Dioclétien, alors qu’elle se rendait au puits pour y chercher de l’eau, elle croisa un cortège de moines et de vierges arrêtés et conduits par la police à Alexandrie en vue d’être mis à mort. 1ère lecture : 1 Co 5, 1-8

Et, malgré cela, vous êtes gonflés d’orgueil au lieu d’en pleurer et de chasser de votre communauté celui qui commet cet acte. Quant à moi, qui suis absent de corps mais présent d’esprit, j’ai déjà jugé, comme si j’étais présent, l’homme qui agit de la sorte : au nom du Seigneur Jésus, lors d’une réunion où je serai spirituellement avec vous, dans la puissance de notre Seigneur Jésus, il faut livrer cet individu au pouvoir de Satan, pour la perdition de son être de chair ; ainsi, son esprit pourra être sauvé au jour du Seigneur. Vraiment, vous n’avez pas de quoi être fiers : ne savez-vous pas qu’un peu de levain suffit pour que fermente toute la pâte ? Purifiez-vous donc des vieux ferments, et vous serez une pâte nouvelle, vous qui êtes le pain de la Pâque, celui qui n’a pas fermenté. Car notre agneau pascal a été immolé : c’est le Christ. Un jour de sabbat, Jésus était entré dans la synagogue et enseignait. Il y avait là un homme dont la main droite était desséchée. Mais lui connaissait leurs raisonnements, et il dit à l’homme qui avait la main desséchée : « Lève-toi, et tiens-toi debout, là au milieu. » L’homme se dressa et se tint debout. Jésus leur dit : « Je vous le demande : Est-il permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire le bien ou de faire le mal ? de sauver une vie ou de la perdre ? » Alors, promenant son regard sur eux tous, il dit à l’homme : « Étends la main. » Il le fit, et sa main redevint normale. Méditation
Les lois sont une bonne chose, car elles aident les hommes à vivre ensemble et à savoir se comporter devant Dieu. De ces lois, celles qui promeuvent la vie sont les plus grandes, car la vie est le plus précieux don que Dieu a donné à l’humanité. La guérison que Jésus accomplit le jour de Sabbat nous prouve que la vie n’a pas de prix, elle vient avant toute chose. Avons-nous conscience de cela dans ce monde où les intérêts égoïstes prennent le pas sur le respect et la protection de la vie humaine ? Que devons nous faire pour y remédier en tant que chrétien ?
Sept Missionnaires Claretains viennent d’emettte leur voeux perpetuels au sein de la Congrégation aucours d’une eucharistie en la paroisse Saint Charles Lwanga de Nkolbisson à Yaoundé . Une cérémonie relevée en couleurs qui a connu une forte participation des chrétiens venus de toutes les régions du pays .
” Je fais donc voeux à Dieu pour toujours !” une phrase qui par 7 fois a retenti dans une Église pleine à craquer au cours d’une eucharistie présidée par le Supérieur Majeur Jude Langeh, avec la participation des confrères ayant effectué le déplacement de leur lieu d’apostolat pour vivre la communion congrégationelle, en apportant leur soutien fraternel a Bertin , Ulrich, Joël , Melvin , Casimir , Cédric , tous de la Délégation Indépendante du Cameroun et Jean Marc Yao de la province de Pologne .
Dans son homélie du jour , le Supérieur Majeur s’est appuyé sur l’évangile du jour pour rappeler au élus les exigences missionnaires qui sous-tendent leur engagement qui reste un sacrifice car la suite du Christ nécessite le ” renoncement à soi- même et le port de la croix “. En suivant le Christ comme Claret par l’obéissance , la chasteté et la pauvreté a t- il poursuivit vous faites le choix de recevoir de Dieu la grâce qui coûte chère .
Dans leur mot de remerciement les nouveaux perpétuels en manifestant leur joie pour la grâce reçu de Dieu ont promis de mettre en pratique ces conseils pour rester fidèles à la mission de la Congrégation .
Familles biologiques , et membres des congrégations amies étaient présents pour une cérémonie qui aura duré près de quatre heures de temps avant l’ouverture du buffet prévu en l’occasion.
Le Supérieur Majeur de la Délégation indépendante du Cameroun vient de déposer ses valises à Nairobi ( Kenya) où il prend part à la rencontre des supérieurs majeurs de la Congrégation avec le gouvernement général des demain lundi .
Le TRP Jude Thaddeus Langeh ,cmf est arrivé à Nairobi hier après midi . Il prend part des demain lundi au côté de ses pairs à une rencontre avec le Gouvernement général dont les membres sont arrivés dans la capitale Kényane hier matin .
Il faut rappeler que la dernière rencontre de cette envergure a eu lieu en 2016 au Skri Lanka et le supérieur majeur du Cameroun était présent .
Le prétexte actuel est celui de l’implémentation dans la vie missionnaire Claretaine , le rêve émis par les capitulaires lors du XXVIe Chapitre général d’où le thème qui fera l’objet des débats ” Enracinés dans le Christ et audacieux dans la mission ” . Cette rencontre est sans doute une paraphrase dudit chapitre .
Autre caractéristique importante c’est la grande médiatisation pour une première que connaîtra cette rencontre qui durera environ 2 semaines ( du 5 au 17 septembre). La rencontre sera retransmise en direct par les équipes mises en place par la Congrégation .
Le Kenya pour les pays anglophones , le Mexique pour les pays hispanophones et le Cameroun pour les pays francophones. La pages Facebook de la Délégation et la chaîne youtube Claret media serviront pour cette retransmission des demain matin .

Quel homme peut découvrir les intentions de Dieu ? Qui peut comprendre les volontés du Seigneur ? Je te le renvoie, lui qui est comme mon cœur. Je l’aurais volontiers gardé auprès de moi, pour qu’il me rende des services en ton nom, à moi qui suis en prison à cause de l’Évangile. Mais je n’ai rien voulu faire sans ton accord, pour que tu accomplisses ce qui est bien, non par contrainte mais volontiers. S’il a été éloigné de toi pendant quelque temps, c’est peut-être pour que tu le retrouves définitivement, non plus comme un esclave, mais, mieux qu’un esclave, comme un frère bien-aimé : il l’est vraiment pour moi, combien plus le sera-t-il pour toi, aussi bien humainement que dans le Seigneur. L’évangile de ce dimanche nous invite à faire du Christ notre choix absolu. Suivre le Christ nous invite à renoncer même à sa propre famille si celle-ci s’oppose à notre fidélité aux Christ. En effet, c’est par le Christ, et à travers lui seul, que nous devons apprécier toute chose, nos rapports avec le monde. C’est cet exemple que les religieux et religieuses nous donnent à travers leur esprit de détachement et leur vœu de pauvreté évangélique.

Meditation
Three elements that can constitute a barrier in following Jesus closely as His disciples are: relationships (in the sense that close persons hinder us from doing and saying the things we ought to do and say), lack of perseverance (in terms of lack of patience in doing things, acting from pressure so that we leave out essential steps and leave out Jesus whom we should invite in trying times) and possession (by turning to things that make us lose focus, the wealth we gather which get our attention more than Christ Himself), as Jesus shows us in the Gospel. What are those things that hinder us from being close to Christ? Are we so busy with running businesses and errands that we have no time for family, let alone God? Is it because of sports that we don’t care about the welfare of others around us? Whatever those walls may be, we must pull them down.
St. Grégoire le Grand, pape et docteur de l’Eglise
D’abord préfet de la ville de Rome, Grégoire (vers 540-604) se retire dans un des monastères qu’il a fondés. Il est arraché à sa solitude pour aller à Constantinople comme légat pontifical. Un jour de sabbat, Jésus traversait des champs ; ses disciples arrachaient des épis et les mangeaient, après les avoir froissés dans leurs mains. Quelques pharisiens dirent alors: « Pourquoi faites-vous ce qui n’est pas permis le jour du sabbat ? » Jésus leur répondit : « N’avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David un jour qu’il eut faim, lui-même et ceux qui l’accompagnaient ? Il entra dans la maison de Dieu, prit les pains de l’offrande, en mangea et en donna à ceux qui l’accompagnaient, alors que les prêtres seulement ont le droit d’en manger. » Il leur disait encore : « Le Fils de l’homme est maître du sabbat. »

Exauce notre prière, Seigneur : permets qu’au jour où nous fêtons saint Grégoire ce sacrifice nous apporte le salut, puisque, dans cette immolation, tu as voulu que soient remis les péchés du monde entier. Par Jésus.

Méditation
L’évangile nous invite à la pratique de la vraie religion et à sortir de nos pratiques pharisaïques. En effet, la loi demande que l’on ne moissonne pas un jour du sabbat, or cueillir un épi fait partie du travail de la moisson. Cependant, le sens profond du sabbat ce n’est pas d’aggraver la peine des hommes mais de les libérer. D’où le sabbat est fait pour l’homme. Dans ce monde plein d’idéologies, gardons-nous de nous égarer et attachons-nous uniquement à l’enseignement de l’Église, la vérité du Christ qui nous conduit à notre véritable libération.

R/ The Lord is close to all who call him.

Meditation
Apart from those in essential services (when possible), for many of us Sunday has almost become an ordinary day. It is now the best time to go and watch or play a game of football, basketball, to attend to our various businesses, to accomplish one project or another, or even to go to nightclubs, all the while neglecting to recognise our Creator and Redeemer. We no longer worship God; we do not spend as much as a moment to offer a prayer in thanksgiving for our lives. Every Sunday is a celebration of our reconciliation with God. Going to Mass on Sunday to worship God, therefore, is not only a fulfilment of an obligation but also a joyful experience of the resurrection event. We are brought closer to God and to one another. Breaking the law is acceptable when there is an urgent basic human need to satisfy, such as hunger, life, etc. (especially when it is not made up). Otherwise, it must be observed and kept holy.

1ère lecture : 1 Co 4, 1-5
Frères, que l’on nous regarde donc comme des auxiliaires du Christ et des intendants des mystères de Dieu. Or, tout ce que l’on demande aux intendants, c’est d’être trouvés dignes de confiance. Pour ma part, je me soucie fort peu d’être soumis à votre jugement, ou à celui d’une autorité humaine ; d’ailleurs, je ne me juge même pas moi-même. Ma conscience ne me reproche rien, mais ce n’est pas pour cela que je suis juste : celui qui me soumet au jugement, c’est le Seigneur. Ainsi, ne portez pas de jugement prématuré, mais attendez la venue du Seigneur, car il mettra en lumière ce qui est caché dans les ténèbres, et il rendra manifestes les intentions des cœurs. Alors, la louange qui revient à chacun lui sera donnée par Dieu.

R/ Le salut des justes vient du Seigneur.
Fais confiance au Seigneur, agis bien, habite la terre et reste fidèle ; mets ta joie dans le Seigneur : il comblera les désirs de ton cœur.
Dirige ton chemin vers le Seigneur, fais-lui confiance, et lui, il agira. Il fera lever comme le jour ta justice, et ton droit comme le plein midi.

En ce temps-là, les pharisiens et les scribes dirent à Jésus : « Les disciples de Jean le Baptiste jeûnent souvent et font des prières ; de même ceux des pharisiens. Au contraire, les tiens mangent et boivent ! » Jésus leur dit : « Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les invités de la noce, pendant que l’Époux est avec eux ? Mais des jours viendront où l’Époux leur sera enlevé ; alors, en ces jours-là, ils jeûneront. » Il leur dit aussi en parabole : « Personne ne déchire un morceau à un vêtement neuf pour le coudre sur un vieux vêtement. Autrement, on aura déchiré le neuf, et le morceau qui vient du neuf ne s’accordera pas avec le vieux. Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres ; autrement, le vin nouveau fera éclater les outres, il se répandra et les outres seront perdues. Méditation
Notre foi en Jésus Christ nous conduit à la joie. C’est justement cette joie qui scandalise les pharisiens quand ils posent la question à Jésus : pourquoi tes disciples sont-ils dans la joie en buvant et mangeant, alors que ceux de Jean le baptiste vivent dans une grande austérité ? Le Seigneur répond que celui qui est avec lui doit être dans la joie. Le jeûne a pour but d’écarter de nos vies tout ce qui ne rime pas avec l’Evangile. Alors suis-je un baptisé joyeux ?
He was born in Montréal on 3 April 1758 and ordained priest in 1783. In the face of persecution he took shelter with the Eudist Fathers in Paris. He was executed in 1792 together with almost 200 other priests. He was beatified by Pope Pius XI on 17 October 1926.

People must think of us as Christ’s servants, stewards entrusted with the mysteries of God. What is expected of stewards is that each one should be found worthy of his trust. Not that it makes the slightest difference to me whether you, or indeed any human tribunal, find me worthy or not. I will not even pass judgement on myself. True, my conscience does not reproach me at all, but that does not prove that I am acquitted: the Lord alone is my judge. There must be no passing of premature judgement. Leave that until the Lord comes; he will light up all that is hidden in the dark and reveal the secret intentions of men’s hearts. Then will be the time for each one to have whatever praise he deserves, from God.

R/ The salvation of the just comes from the Lord.
If you trust in the Lord and do good, then you will live in the land and be secure. If you find your delight in the Lord, he will grant your heart’s desire.
Commit your life to the Lord, trust in him and he will act, so that your justice breaks forth like the light, your cause like the noon-day sun.
Then turn away from evil and do good and you shall have a home for ever; for the Lord loves justice and will never forsake his friends.
The salvation of the just comes from the Lord, their stronghold in time of distress. The Lord helps them and delivers them and saves them: for their refuge is in him.

But the time will come, the time for the bridegroom to be taken away from them; that will be the time when they will fast. He also told them this parable, ‘No one tears a piece from a new cloak to put it on an old cloak; if he does, not only will he have torn the new one, but the piece taken from the new will not match the old. And nobody puts new wine into old skins; if he does, the new wine will burst the skins and then run out, and the skins will be lost. No; new wine must be put into fresh skins. And nobody who has been drinking old wine wants new. “The old is good” he says.’

Meditation
There will always be tensions between the old and the new because the Christian life is always marked by renewal and a constant effort to understand the Gospel; the ever ancient, ever new. As a matter of fact, that’s God’s nature; He is always old and new. Walking with Jesus is a new experience, an opportunity to enjoy a joyful relationship. The old wine skin of our mind resists it. The teaching of Jesus presents a new way of looking at God and religion and/or worship. Pope Francis reminds us: “Whenever we make the effort to return to the source and to recover the original freshness of the Gospel, new avenues arise, new paths of creativity open up, with different forms of expression, more eloquent signs and words with new meaning for today’s world. Every form of authentic evangelization is always ‘new.’” (Evangelii Gaudium no. 11). Let us experience things in newer ways.
