Meditation
It is very easy to teach, point out mistakes and admonish, but very difficult to live out the teaching. And here lies the problem. Charity begins at home, they say. And this is the best way to teach. When we live out what we teach, it makes sense to others since they see the fruits and they become convinced; otherwise we become the same hypocrites Jesus condemns. But we are all weak and we must find ways of moving forward. We can do this by caring for one another, by being aware that we all have limitations and shortcomings, by correcting not to show that we are better but to ensure that the other grows and can help us in turn when and where we go astray.

Dans l’Evangile Saint Luc s’adresse aux disciples de Jésus. Il nous dit qu’être disciple de Jésus, c’est d’abord apprendre, se corriger soi-même plutôt que de jeter nos regards sur les autres. En effet, pour acquérir une disposition intérieure capable de rendre lucide notre regard sur les autres, il nous faut nous laisser former par le Saint Esprit afin qu’il réalise et parachève notre identification au christ. Suis-je un disciple qui écoute ou plutôt celui qui se joue du maître ?

Meditation
It was part of God’s plan that she who was to bring our Saviour into the world would be a loving tabernacle of flesh for the living God, since it was in her womb, by the power of the Spirit, that the incarnate Son of God was conceived and developed. We celebrate Mary’s birthday precisely because she accepted to bear the Son of God, our Saviour and Redeemer, Emmanuel, God-with-us. Her birth is the prelude to the imminent coming of our Saviour. St Andrew of Crete would confirm this: her birth is the “prelude” for the “union of the Word with flesh.” Being thoroughly Marian does not in any way make us less Christ-centered. In fact, our union with the Blessed Virgin Mary is our union with Christ whom she bore. May She then lay our intentions at the feet of her son Jesus.

Méditation
Nous célébrons en ce jour la Nativité de la Vierge Marie. Elle est celle qui par une grâce prévenante va porter son Sauveur le Christ Jésus. En effet, dans la généalogie de Jésus que Saint Mathieu nous présente, l’auteur sacré nous fait comprendre que le Christ a accepté d’assumer toute notre humanité avec ses hauts et ses bas d’où son nom : « Emmanuel, c’est-à-dire Dieu est avec nous ». Que la naissance de la Vierge Marie fasse lever sur notre monde l’espérance et l’amour de la paix véritable pour tous les peuples.
Le culte de cette jeune fille, orpheline de mère et instruite dans la foi chrétienne par sa nourrice, est attesté dès le 5e siècle, par une basilique érigée au-dessus de son sarcophage. On en déduit que Reine subit le martyre à l’endroit même où Vercingétorix se rendit à César.

Meditation
Many seek happiness but how many really find it? Jesus invites us to His own way of happiness, which is actually a transformation from within, that is, a conversion of heart and mind which comes through the gift and working of the Holy Spirit when we abandon ourselves to Him. It is not in having so many things which the world presents to us today. There is nothing wrong with them but when we think our happiness must come from them, we may just be looking for sadness because they can never satisfy us. In fact, abandoning ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit is looking for Happiness which only Jesus can give. It is making sure that we have enough blessings to know that God loves us and that we have just enough Hope to keep our gaze upon our eternal Happiness (Heaven).
La Rencontre des Supérieurs Majeurs avec le Gouvernement Général a commencé par les vêpres du dimanche 4 septembre 2022, animées par le Père Joseph Mbungu, CMF. Cependant, la cérémonie d’ouverture officielle a eu lieu le lundi matin, 5 septembre, et tous les participants ont reçu un grand Karibu Sana de la part de la Délégation Indépendante des missionnaires Clarétains de Saint Charles Lwanga et des chrétiens de la tribu Kikuyu à Kerwa. Le groupe culturel Kikuyu, dans une ambiance des chants et des pas de danse animés, a habillé chacun des membres présents de beaux et longs pagnes, ainsi que des bracelets en signe de Karibu (Bienvenue) au Kenya. Après cet accueil chaleureux, le Supérieur Général a dirigé la cérémonie de la Procession et de l’Intronisation de la Bible dans la salle de réunions. L’Evangile pour cette liturgie était tiré de Jean 15, 1-17.
La rencontre s’est poursuivie par un mot de bienvenue du Père Joy Joseph, Supérieur majeur de la Délégation Saint Charles Lwanga. Ce dernier a fait une présentation historique et panoramique de la Délégation et a exhorté chacun à se sentir chez lui. Le Père Général a ensuite prononcé son discours d’ouverture et a remercié Dieu d’avoir rendu possible la tenue de cette rencontre. Le Père Henry Omonisaye, modérateur de la séance, a conduit l’assemblée dans la dynamique de la rencontre, notamment en ce qui concerne l’horaire et le programme quotidien.
La messe d’ouverture a eu lieu à midi, célébrée par le Père Général. Il a exprimé la communion des Supérieurs avec toute la Congrégation dans les différentes périphéries et même au ciel. Avant de passer à la célébration eucharistique, le Père Général a bien voulu désigner les modérateurs et les sécrétaires. Il a donc nommé comme modérateurs les Pères Rosendo Urabazzo, CMF, Provincial des USA-Canada, et Valens Agino, CMF, de la Délégation Indépendante Indonésie-Timor Leste. Les Pères Jude Thaddeus Langeh, Francisco Carín García, et Mario David Gutiérrez Medina, CMFF ont été choisis comme secrétaires dans la session du soir.
Chaque Supérieur Majeur avait 4 minutes pour partager sur ces deux questions concernant leurs Organismes Majeurs :
– Qu’est-ce qui a été le plus important dans la vie et la mission de votre organisme depuis la célébration du XXVIème Chapitre Général ?
– Quels sont les deux défis de l’Exhortation du Chapitre, Querida Congregación (QC) auxquels votre Organisme devrait répondre avec plus de dévouement et d’urgence ?
La session du soir s’est terminée à 18h30, suivie des vêpres.
La rencontre entre Supérieurs Majeurs et le Gouvernement général de Congrégation s’est ouverte hier à Nairobi au Kenya où un accueil chaleureux leur a été réservé.
Ils sont 36 au total , les supérieurs majeurs de la Congrégation qui participent depuis hier à cette traditionnelle rencontre avec le gouvernement général . L’accueil hier en matinée s’est montré digne de cet événement d’envergure . Les supérieurs majeurs ont reçu chacun un bracelet et ont été vêtus de pagnes multicolores symboles d’hospitalité pour les peuples de cette portion de l’Afrique
. Après cet accueil chaleureux , les supérieurs ont procédés à la l’intronisation et célébration de la parole de Dieu , socle de notre identité missionnaire. La messe d’ouverture présidée par le supérieur général Matthew Vatamattham ,cmf et l’homélie faite par le Vicaire général Henry Omonisaye,cmf .
La session de travail de l’après midi a connu l’election des secrétaires parmi lesquels los Jude Thaddeus Langeh, Francisco Carín García et Mario David Gutiérrez Medina, cmff.
Les supérieurs majeurs ont pris le temps de méditer et de réfléchir sur les évènements les plus importants que leurs organismes ont vécu depuis la célébration du XXVIe Chapitre général , et sur les défis à relever par cet organisme majeur en s’inspirant des recommandations capitulaires de Querida Congrégacion.
L’événement a été retransmis en trois langues , l’anglais , l’espagnol et le français .
Il fait partie des évêques les plus influents arrêtés par Hunéric, roi Vandale arien pour donner du change aux chrétiens qui restèrent attachés à la foi romaine du concile de Nicée. Avec Fusculus, Laetus, Mansuetis et Praesidius, il fut envoyé en exilé après qu’il eût reçu cent cinquante violents coups de fouet qui brisèrent chacun d’eux.

Frères, lorsque l’un d’entre vous a un désaccord avec un autre, comment ose-t-il aller en procès devant des juges païens plutôt que devant les fidèles ? Ne savez-vous pas que les fidèles jugeront le monde ? Et si c’est vous qui devez juger le monde, seriez-vous indignes de juger des affaires de moindre importance ? Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons des anges ? À plus forte raison les affaires de cette vie ! Et quand vous avez de telles affaires, vous prenez comme juges des gens qui n’ont pas d’autorité dans l’Église ! Je vous le dis à votre honte. N’y aurait-il parmi vous aucun homme assez sage pour servir d’arbitre entre ses frères ? Pourtant, un frère est en procès avec son frère, et cela devant des gens qui ne sont pas croyants ! C’est déjà un échec pour vous d’avoir des litiges entre vous. Pourquoi ne pas plutôt supporter l’injustice ? Pourquoi ne pas plutôt vous laisser dépouiller ? Au contraire, c’est vous qui commettez l’injustice et qui dépouillez les autres, et cela, vous le faites à des frères ! Ne savez- vous pas que ceux qui commettent l’injustice ne recevront pas le royaume de Dieu en héritage ? Ne vous y trompez pas : ni les débauchés, les idolâtres, les adultères, ni les dépravés et les sodomites, ni les voleurs et les profiteurs, ni les ivrognes, les diffamateurs et les escrocs, aucun de ceux-là ne recevra le royaume de Dieu en héritage. Voilà ce qu’étaient certains d’entre vous. Mais vous avez été lavés, vous avez été sanctifiés, vous êtes devenus des justes, au nom du Seigneur Jésus Christ et par l’Esprit de notre Dieu.

Jésus descendit de la montagne avec eux et s’arrêta sur un terrain plat. Il y avait là un grand nombre de ses disciples et une grande multitude de gens venus de toute la Judée, de Jérusalem, et du littoral de Tyr et de Sidon. Ils étaient venus l’entendre et se faire guérir de leurs maladies ; ceux qui étaient tourmentés par des esprits impurs retrouvaient la santé. Et toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, parce qu’une force sortait de lui et les guérissait tous.

Méditation
L’Evangile de ce jour nous fait contempler des reliefs, montagne et plaine, qui ont toutes deux une portée symbolique dans les écrits bibliques. La montagne est le lieu de la présence de Dieu, lieu où l’homme rencontre Dieu. La plaine est le lieu de la présence humaine où les hommes se rencontrent et vivent. C’est donc dans le lieu de la présence de son père, et avec son père, que Jésus choisit ses collaborateurs. Ils auront la charge de continuer sa mission. La mission se donne sur la montagne, mais c’est dans la plaine qu’elle s’exerce. C’est donc dans la masse humaine, dans les préoccupations quotidiennes des hommes que le message divin d’espérance doit être annoncé. Nous sommes invités à prendre assez de temps sur la montagne afin de rendre d’avantage plus crédible et efficace le message de Dieu parmi les hommes.

How dare one of your members take up a complaint against another in the law courts of the unjust instead of before the saints? As you know, it is the saints who are to ‘judge the world’; and if the world is to be judged by you, how can you be unfit to judge trifling cases? Since we are also to judge angels, it follows that we can judge matters of everyday life; but when you have had cases of that kind, the people you appointed to try them were not even respected in the Church. You should be ashamed: is there really not one reliable man among you to settle differences between brothers and so one brother brings a court case against another in front of unbelievers? It is bad enough for you to have lawsuits at all against one another: oughtn’t you to let yourselves be wronged, and let yourselves be cheated? But you are doing the wronging and the cheating, and to your own brothers. You know perfectly well that people who do wrong will not inherit the kingdom of God: people of immoral lives, idolaters, adulterers, catamites, sodomites, thieves, usurers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers will never inherit the kingdom of God. These are the sort of people some of you were once, but now you have been washed clean, and sanctified, and justified through the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.

Meditation
There is a reason behind each call, vocation or task. Behind this lies a responsibility to carry out an assignment in a manner that is satisfactory both to those who are served and to the one who called us. The reason for the call of the Apostles was ‘to be with the Lord’. But they all had a task. That is why Jesus, after selecting those He wanted to be with Him, showed them the assignment reserved for them. Bishops, priests, and religious men and women are equally called to be with the Lord and heal in different ways those who come from far and wide. We too, by virtue of our baptism, are called to join forces and cooperate with the Apostles of today and give in our own quota, for that is part of our task. We can do that through our different vocations; teachers, engineers, carpenters, farmers, etc.
