UNE ASSEMBLÉE ORDINAIRE SANS PAPIERS
Les Missionnaires Claretains réunis dans le diocèse de Mbalmayo tiennent depuis dimanche dernier leur IVe Assemblée ordinaire. Une rencontre sans usage de papiers et qui est une révolution dans la vie de l’Eglise au Cameroun.
En soutane noire et sandales aux pieds mais tablette à la main au lieu du bréviaire , le père ….. se dirige d’un pas pressé vers la chapelle du centre spirituel notre Dame du perpétuel secours de Mbalmayo . Certains de ses confrères l’ont précédé et d’autres le suivent . Tous ont une tablette dans leur main .
C’est cet outil qui leur sert de support pour les travaux de l’Assemblée qu’ils tiennent y compris la prière. Le papier a tout simplement été écarté. Une digitalisation qui arrime cette Congrégation missionnaire à la conversion écologique voulu par le pape François et à la transition technologique qu’offre l’évolution de la science .
L’usage des tablettes , pour les travaux d’une assemblée de près de 80 participants est une révolution dans l’Eglise locale qui est au Cameroun pour une Assemblée qui s’achève samedi prochain.

(1890 – 1902)
She was an 11years old girl from a poor peasant family in Italy. She was naturally pious, kind, helpful and beautiful. In 1902 an eighteen-year-old neighbor, Alexander, tried to rape her. When Maria resisted, Alexander stabbed her 14 times. She forgave her murderer on her dead bed and died in the afternoon of 6th July, 1902.

Meditation
As Jesus’ words and deeds spread, He forms the group of twelve to collaborate in spreading of the Good News. This is the same group (Apostles) that Jesus will hand over His body, the Church. They are the new witnesses of Jesus among the people. He called and sent them to the Jewish nation. He called the twelve so that the Jewish nation should be integrated into twelve tribes. They were to be the foundation of the new people God will form. The Apostles are the Church’s foundation stones. Today, as we celebrate the call of the Apostles, let us remember to pray for all the Bishops who are the Apostles’ successors. We all have apostolates in the Church, but no one makes himself an apostles. This is why we need to pray for those the Church has made apostles.

Maria (1890-1902) était la fille aînée d’une pauvre paysanne des Marais Pontins, veuve et mère de six enfants. Alors qu’elle avait douze ans, un voisin âgé de dix-huit ans, menaça de la poignarder si elle refusait ses avances. Maria résista et le paya de sa vie. Percée de coups, elle mourut le lendemain après avoir pardonné à son bourreau.

Son cœur est partagé ; maintenant il va expier : le Seigneur renversera ses autels ; les stèles, il les détruira. Maintenant Israël va dire : « Nous sommes privés de roi, car nous n’avons pas craint le Seigneur. Et si nous avions un roi, que pourrait-il faire pour nous ? » Ils ont disparu, Samarie et son roi, comme de l’écume à la surface de l’eau. Les lieux sacrés seront détruits, ils sont le crime, le péché d’Israël ; épines et ronces recouvriront leurs autels. Alors on dira aux montagnes : « Cachez-nous ! » et aux collines : « Tombez sur nous ! » Faites des semailles de justice, récoltez une moisson de fidélité, défrichez vos terres en friche. Il est temps de chercher le Seigneur, jusqu’à ce qu’il vienne répandre sur vous une pluie de justice.

of the Basilica
of St. Mary Major
The Council of Ephesus in 431 formally proclaimed the mother of Jesus as the Mother of God, and the church (basilica) of St Mary Major on the Esquiline Hill in Rome was built shortly afterwards to celebrate her motherhood. This is the oldest church in the West that is dedicated to Our Lady.

Meditation
In our Gospel today, Jesus lays down the basic requirements of Christian discipleship: self-renunciation and acceptance of suffering, two vital elements which are largely absent in the lives of many contemporary Christians. Christ by his very life gave an unparalleled example of both. On this note, genuine Christian discipleship necessarily demands ascetic self-denial. Thus, we are called to surrender our will and ambitions to God. Herein lies the dialectic of the Christian mystery: it is in losing our lives that we gain it, and in self-denial we attain true self-discovery. When we repudiate our will and embrace God, we will be confident to give account of our stewardship on the Day of Judgment, and the message of peace which the prophet Nahum proclaimed will be incarnated in our lives as God’s children.

En ce temps-là, voici qu’on présenta à Jésus un possédé qui était sourd-muet. Lorsque le démon eut été expulsé, le sourd-muet se mit à parler. Les foules furent dans l’admiration, et elles disaient : «Jamais rien de pareil ne s’est vu en Israël ! » Mais les pharisiens disaient: « C’est par le chef des démons qu’il expulse les démons. » Jésus parcourait toutes les villes et tous les villages, enseignant dans leurs synagogues, proclamant l’Évangile: du Royaume et guérissant toute maladie et toute infirmité. Voyant les foules, Jésus fut saisi de compassion envers elles parce qu’elles étaient désemparées et abattues comme des brebis sans berger. Il dit alors à ses disciples : « La moisson est abondante, mais les ouvriers sont peu nombreux. Priez donc le maître de la moisson d’envoyer des ouvriers pour sa moisson. ».

Méditation
Jésus est le maître de la vie. Sa mission en ce monde consiste à guérir, libérer, sauver des âmes. Cependant, les pharisiens ne le reconnaissent pas comme tel; alors, ils le dénigrent. Cette attitude des pharisiens est encore présente en nous aujourd’hui quand nous refusons de croire au Christ. Nous devons savoir que Dieu peut tout dans la vie de l’homme et Jésus peut tout pour celui qui met sa foi en lui. Avons-nous cette foi ?

Le centre spirituel notre Dame du perpétuel secours accueille depuis hier dimanche les missionnaires Claretains venus de diverses missions pour la célébration de leur quatrième Assemblée ordinaire qui durera 6 jours et verra la mise en place d’un nouveau gouvernement.
“Nous ne pouvons pas négocier notre relation avec le Christ si réellement nous voulons être audacieux dans la mission”. Une phrase qui resonne en écho au thème choisi pour cette quatrième assemblée de la Délégation indépendante du Cameroun, sous son aspect spirituel .
Elle a résonne comme remède au diagnostique spirituelle conduit pendant les laudes par le Très Révérend Père Joseph Mbungu , préfet général de formation de la Congrégation. C’est par une récollection que les Missionnaires Claretains de la Délégation du Cameroun font depuis ce 4 juillet leur entrée progressive dans cette première journée de leur Assemblée Ordinaire qui durera 6 jours .
Après l’ arrivée hier dimanche ici même au Centre spirituel NOTRE DAME DU PERPÉTUEL SECOURS dans le diocèse de Mbalmayo , les Claretains du Cameroun en présence de 2 membres du gouvernement général venus pour ce grand événement ont reçu la visite de l’évêque de ce Diocèse Mgr Joseph Marie Ndi Okalla . Et il faut le dire ici , les Claretains collaborent dans la mission dans ce diocèse . La se trouve le Noviciat Claretain Anton Probts et la paroisse dirigée par les Claretains à Nsen nlong.
Autre temps fort de la journée d’hier les allocutions entre autre : le mot d’accueil du Supérieur Majeur le TRP Jude Thaddeus Langeh Basebang , cmf suivi de la lecture du message du Supérieur Général Matthew Vatamattham et le discours du Très Révérend Père Henri Omonisaye président de cette 4 e assemblée ordinaire dont le thème est évocateur
ENRACINÉS DANS LE CHRIST ET AUDACIEUX POUR LA MISSION : pour une délégation au service de la réconciliation , la justice et la paix .

The spiritual center of Our Lady of Perpetual Help welcomes yesterday, Sunday, the Claretian missionaries who have come from various missions for the celebration of their fourth ordinary assembly which will last 6 days and will see the establishment of a new government.
“We cannot negotiate our relationship with Christ if we want to be daring in the mission”. A sentence that echoes the theme chosen for this fourth assembly of the Independent Delegation of Cameroon, in its spiritual aspect.
It resonated as a remedy to the spiritual diagnosis conducted during Lauds by the Very Reverend Father Joseph Mbungu, Prefect General of Formation of the Congregation. The Claretian Missionaries of the Delegation of Cameroon have been making their gradual entry into the first day of their 6-day Ordinary Assembly with a recollection.
After arriving yesterday, Sunday, at the spiritual center of NOTRE DAME DU PERPÉTUEL SECOURS in the diocese of Mbalmayo, the Claretian Missionaries of Cameroon, in the presence of two members of the general government who came for this great event, received the visit of the bishop of this diocese, Mgr Joseph Marie Ndi Okalla. And it must be said here, that the Claretians collaborate on the mission in this diocese. There is the Claretian Novitiate Anton Probst and the parish run by the Claretians in Nsen nlong.
Other highlights of the day were the speeches of the Major Superior, TRP Jude Thaddeus Langeh Basebang, cmf, followed by the reading of the message of the Superior General, Matthew Vatamattham, and the speech of the Very Reverend Father Henri Omonisaye, president of this 4th Ordinary Assembly, whose theme is evocative
ENRACINED IN CHRIST AND AUDACIOUS FOR THE MISSION: for a delegation at the service of reconciliation, justice, and peace.

Gospel : Matthew 16:13-23
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi he put this question to his disciples, ‘Who do people say the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say he is John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ ‘But you,’ he said ‘who do you say I am?’ Then Simon Peter spoke up, ‘You are the Christ,’ he said, ‘the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Simon son of Jonah, you are a happy man! Because it was not flesh and blood that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of the underworld can never hold out against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven.’ Then he gave the disciples strict orders not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. From that time Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that he was destined to go to Jerusalem and suffer grievously at the hands of the elders and chief priests and Scribes, to be put to death and to be raised up on the third day. Then, taking him aside, Peter started to remonstrate with him. ‘Heaven preserve you, Lord;’ he said ‘this must not happen to you.’ But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because the way you think is not God’s way but man’s.’
Prayer over the Offerings
Receive, O Lord, we pray, the offerings placed on your altar in commemoration of Saint John Mary Vianney, so that, as you brought him glory, you may, through these sacred mysteries, grant to us your pardon. Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer after Communion
May partaking at the heavenly table, almighty God, confirm and increase strength from on high in all who celebrate the feast day of Saint John Mary Vianney, that we may preserve in integrity the gift of faith and walk in the path of salvation you trace for us. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
“You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church.” Christ built His Church upon a rock, a lasting foundation, for He knew that storms would arise. He equally promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. This implies that the Church has enemies that fight against it. These are the powers and policies of the devil’s kingdom, the dragon’s head and horns, by which he makes war with the Lamb. They fight the church by opposing gospel truths, persecuting good ministers and good Christians. Christ the Head assures us that these enemies shall not gain their point. While the world stands, the Church must stand to preach the Gospel in it in spite of all the opposition of the powers of hell.
