Touchée par l’exemple du Poverello, une jeune fille d’Assise offrit au Christ la fraîcheur de ses dix-huit ans et se confia à saint François, le dimanche des Rameaux 1212. Ce fut l’origine du second ordre franciscain, celui des Pauvres Dames ou Clarisses. Sœur Claire (1193-1253) allait diriger pendant quarante-deux ans le couvent de Saint-Damien à Assise, le premier de l’Ordre.

Méditation
Jésus vient de faire une annonce très importante à savoir sa mort et sa résurrection. Deux éléments qui constituent le sommet de sa mission en faveur de l’humanité. Notre foi et notre espérance tirent leur sève de la mort et de la résurrection de Jésus. Cette annonce se veut être une bonne nouvelle mais elle a une saveur amère pour ses disciples. Ils furent profondément attristés comme nous le révèle le texte que nous venons de lire. Mais pourquoi une bonne nouvelle peut-elle produire de l’amertume. C’est parce qu’elle contient la croix, le sacrifice, la mort. C’est en acceptant de passer par ces chemins par lesquels le Christ est passé lui-même que nous avons l’opportunité de nous réjouir avec lui dans sa résurrection. Les chrétiens sont des pèlerins dans ce monde. Ils doivent assumer cette identité comme telle car le royaume du Christ qu’ils suivent n’est pas de ce monde.
Souviens-toi, Seigneur, de ton alliance, n’oublie pas plus longtemps les pauvres de ton peuple: Lève-toi, Seigneur, défends ta cause, n’oublie pas le cri de ceux qui te cherchent.

Dieu éternel et tout-puissant, toi que nous pouvons déjà appeler notre Père, Fais grandir en nos cœurs l’esprit filial, afin que nous soyons capables d’entrer un jour dans l’héritage qui nous est promis. Par Jésus Christ.
1ère lecture : Sagesse 18, 6-9
La nuit de la délivrance pascale avait été connue d’avance par nos Pères ; assurés des promesses auxquelles ils avaient cru, ils étaient dans la joie. Et ton peuple accueillit à la fois le salut des justes et la ruine de leurs ennemis. En même temps que tu frappais nos adversaires, tu nous appelais à la gloire. Dans le secret de leurs maisons, les fidèles descendants des justes offraient un sacrifice, et ils consacrèrent d’un commun accord cette loi divine : que les saints partageraient aussi bien le meilleur que le pire ; et déjà ils entonnaient les chants de louange des Pères.

2ème lecture : Hébreux 11, 1-2.8-12
Frères, la foi est une façon de posséder ce que l’on espère, un moyen de connaître des réalités qu’on ne voit pas. Et quand l’Écriture rend témoignage aux anciens, c’est à cause de leur foi. Grâce à la foi, Abraham obéit à l’appel de Dieu: il partit vers un pays qu’il devait recevoir en héritage, et il partit sans savoir où il allait. Grâce à la foi, il vint séjourner en immigré dans la Terre promise, comme en terre étrangère; il vivait sous la tente, ainsi qu’Isaac et Jacob, héritiers de la même promesse, car il attendait la ville qui aurait de vraies fondations, la ville dont Dieu lui-même est le bâtisseur et l’architecte. Grâce à la foi, Sara, elle aussi, malgré son âge, fut rendue capable d’être à l’origine d’une descendance parce qu’elle pensait que Dieu est fidèle à ses promesses. C’est pourquoi, d’un seul homme, déjà marqué par la mort, a pu naître une descendance aussi nombreuse que les étoiles du ciel et que le sable au bord de la mer, une multitude innombrable.

Méditation
Dans l’Évangile que nous venons d’écouter, une chose trans-parait très clairement. Les serviteurs ne savent ni le jour ni l’heure à laquelle le maître viendra vers eux. Cependant ils ont la certitude qu’il viendra. Que faire pour ne pas être surpris dans ce cas. La réponse est simple, ils se doivent d’être exemplaires dans leur vie de foi, se conformer à la volonté de Dieu qui les a appelés par le baptême. Lorsque le chrétien est en accord avec Dieu il est déjà dans l’éternité et l’heure de sa mort ou même les circonstances de son départ de ce monde ne sont que de peu d’intérêt. Le désir de rencontrer son Seigneur devient plus pressant que tout. Dans quel état d’esprit serions-nous si aujourd’hui même le Seigneur nous rappelait à lui.
Look to your covenant, O Lord, and forget not the life of your poor ones for ever. Arise, O God, and defend your cause, and forget not the cries of those who seek you.

Second reading : Hebrews 11:1-2,8-19
Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of the realities that at present remain unseen. It was for faith that our ancestors were commended. It was by faith that Abraham obeyed the call to set out for a country that was the inheritance given to him and his descendants, and that he set out without knowing where he was going. By faith he arrived, as a foreigner, in the Promised Land, and lived there as if in a strange country, with Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. They lived there in tents while he looked forward to a city founded, designed and built by God. It was equally by faith that Sarah, in spite of being past the age, was made able to conceive, because she believed that he who had made the promise would be faithful to it. Because of this, there came from one man, and one who was already as good as dead himself, more descendants than could be counted, as many as the stars of heaven or the grains of sand on the seashore. All these died in faith, before receiving any of the things that had been promised, but they saw them in the far distance and welcomed them, recognising that they were only strangers and nomads on earth. People who use such terms about themselves make it quite plain that they are in search of their real homeland. They can hardly have meant the country they came from, since they had the opportunity to go back to it; but in fact they were longing for a better homeland, their heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, since he has founded the city for them. It was by faith that Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac. He offered to sacrifice his only son even though the promises had been made to him and he had been told: It is through Isaac that your name will be carried on. He was confident that God had the power even to raise the dead; and so, figuratively speaking, he was given back Isaac from the dead.

Meditation
What consttutes the greatest joy and treasure in our lives? The Lord Jesus promises that those who earnestly seek God and His kingdom will not be disappointed (Luke 12:32, Matthew 6:33). He offers us the greatest treasure imaginable. However, to possess it, we must first seek it and prioritise it as our true source of joy. Our natural inclination is to acquire and retain whatever we believe will bring us happiness, peace, and security. Jesus extends an invitation to a priceless treasure and source of abundant joy and security that is worth selling all else for. He warns that money and possessions do not last and can be taken away at any moment by a thief or by death itself. Instead, he encourages trust in God, promoting faith as the key to Eternal Life. This message resounds with the idea that genuine and lasting joy is only found in giving priority to our relationship with God and paying less attention to material possessions.
Née dans le judaïsme, Édith Stein était professeur d’université à Wroclaw (Breslau) et elle se tourna progressivement vers le Christ. Au temps de l’invasion nazie et de la persécution des juifs, elle devint carmélite à Cologne, prenant le nom de Thérèse Bénédicte de La Croix. Elle fut martyrisée à Auschwitz.

Méditation
Rien n’est impossible à celui qui garde la foi en Dieu. Par la foi nous parvenons au salut. Jésus sait ce que cela vaut. Il a donné la foi à ses disciples pour pouvoir obtenir le ciel, objet de leur désir et de leur bonheur. Il nous a donné la foi pour aider les hommes qui sont en difficulté. L’Évangile nous donne une première expérience triste d’une foi non agissante, mieux, d’une carence de foi chez les disciples. Je l’ai amené à tes disciples, mais ils n’ont pas pu le guérir. Ceci démontre qu’il ne suffit pas d’être auprès du Christ ou dans l’Église, il faut fermement croire en lui sans partage.

She was born into a Jewish family. She had a distinguished career as a philosopher and received a doctorate at Freiburg. She entered a Carmelite monastery in Cologne and took the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Teresa Benedicta was taken to Auschwitz and killed on 9 August 1942.

Meditation
What kind of faith does the Lord expect of us, especially when we meet setbacks and trials? There are moments when we might disappoint others or ourselves, experiencing failures or setbacks. In this Gospel incident, the disciples of Jesus fail to heal an epileptic boy. Jesus’ response may appear stern, but it is intermingled with love and compassion. His reaction reflects both disappointment with the disciples’ lack of faith and a deep concern for the well-being of this troubled boy and his father. With one word of command, Jesus rebukes the evil spirit responsible for this boy’s affliction and instructs it to “never enter him again”. This action reveals Jesus’ authority over spiritual forces and his compassion for those in need. The expression “remove mountains” was a familiar Jewish phrase for resolving difficulties. A wise teacher who could solve problems was referred to as a “mountain remover”. The passage suggests that through prayer coupled with expectant faith, God provides the means to overcome challenges and obstacles in our lives.

Permets, Seigneur, que ton Église trouve un secours dans les mérites et les enseignements de saint Dominique : qu’il intercède pour nous avec toute sa tendresse, après avoir été un prédicateur éminent de ta vérité.

Moïse disait au peuple d’Israël: «Interroge les temps anciens qui t’ont précédé, depuis le jour où Dieu créa l’homme sur la terre: d’un bout du monde à l’autre, est-il arrivé quelque chose d’aussi grand, a-t-on jamais connu rien de pareil? Est-il un peuple qui ait entendu comme toi la voix de Dieu parlant du milieu du feu, et qui soit resté en vie? Méditation
La suite de Jésus nous appelle à accepter la croix et surtout à l’embrasser. Le portement de la croix et la crucifixion sont le symbole même de l’histoire du salut, car c’est par sa passion sa mort et sa résurrection que Dieu nous sauve. Le suivre consiste donc à suivre le même chemin celui de la croix qui se veut certes être le chemin des souffrances assumées mais aussi celui de espérance de la foi et de la charité qui veut que nous nous donnions entièrement aux autres pour Dieu.

Meditation
Jesus, through probing questions, challenges our assumptions about the value and worth of life. Every decision of life, shapes the kind of person we become. Our character, in turn, significantly influences the future we will face and live. It is possible that some can gain all the things they set their heart on, only to awaken one day and realise they had overlooked the most crucial aspects of life. The passage prompts us to reflect on the true value of material possessions in the context of eternity. No amount of money or possessions can secure a place in heaven, heal a broken heart, or bring solace to a lonely soul.
What is the cross Jesus Christ commands us to take up each day? When our will crosses with His will, then His will is done. Are you ready to lose all for Jesus Christ to gain all with Him?
Sixtus was elected Pope in 257. Twelve months later, on 6th August, as he was celebrating Mass in the catacomb of St Calixtus, he was seized by the authorities and beheaded along with four of his deacons. He was buried in the same catacomb.

Meditation
No mortal being could have revealed Jesus’ identity to Peter; only God could. Jesus then confers on Peter the authority to govern the Church that Jesus would build, a Church that no powers would overcome. Jesus highlights the significance of Peter’s name, which shares the same root as the word “rock” in Aramaic and Greek. Referring to someone as “rock” was considered one of the highest compliments. The ancient rabbis had a saying that when God saw Abraham, he exclaimed: “I have discovered a rock to found the world upon”. Through Abraham, God establishes a nation for Himself. Through faith, Peter recognises Jesus as the Anointed One (Messiah and Christ), the only begotten Son of God. In the New Testament, the Church is described as a spiritual house or temple, with its members depicted as living stones (see 1 Peter 2:5). Faith in Jesus Christ transforms believers into spiritual rocks. The question “Who do you say I am?” is not only presented to Peter but to each individual. It is a question that challenges all believers to affirm their understanding of Jesus’ identity – a crucial aspect of their faith journey.

Ils sont plus d’une vingtaine issus de différents Organismes Majeurs de l’ACLA ( African Claretians) qui ont effectué le déplacement pour participer à la formation des formateurs. Toutes les étapes de la Formation sont représentées les petits séminaires , les pre-postulats et postulats- Philosophat, les noviciats et les theologats.
L’Objectif général vient d’être énoncé par le Préfet général de formation TRP Joseph MBUNGU,Cmf . Il s’agit de renouveler la fidélité au charisme et au projet missionnaire de St Antoine Marie Claret .
Un projet qui est porteur de plusieurs acquis et défis dans des contextes sociaux à la fois changeant et hostile à la fidélité. Plusieurs enseignements et ateliers sont donc annoncés dans les prochains jours avec des intervenants Claretains et d’autres Congrégations.
