1ère lecture : Act 4, 13-21
En ces jours-là, les chefs du peuple, les Anciens et les scribes constataient l’assurance de Pierre et de Jean et, se rendant compte que c’était des hommes sans culture et de simples particuliers, ils étaient surpris ; d’autre part, ils reconnaissaient en eux ceux qui étaient avec Jésus. Mais comme ils voyaient, debout avec eux, l’homme qui avait été guéri, ils ne trouvaient rien à redire. Après leur avoir ordonné de quitter la salle du Conseil suprême, ils se mirent à discuter entre eux. Ils disaient : « Qu’allons-nous faire de ces gens-là ? Il est notoire, en effet, qu’ils ont opéré un miracle; cela fut manifeste pour tous les habitants de Jérusalem, et nous ne pouvons pas le nier. Mais pour en limiter la diffusion dans le peuple, nous allons les menacer afin qu’ils ne parlent plus à personne en ce nom-là. » Ayant rappelé Pierre et Jean, ils leur interdirent formellement de parler ou d’enseigner au nom de Jésus. Ceux-ci leur répliquèrent : « Est-il juste devant Dieu de vous écouter, plutôt que d’écouter Dieu N? À vous de juger. Quant à nous, il nous est impossible de nous taire sur ce que nous avons vu et entendu. » Après de nouvelles menaces, ils les relâchèrent, faute d’avoir trouvé le moyen de les punir : c’était à cause du peuple, car tout le monde rendait gloire à Dieu pour ce qui était arrivé.

Évangile : Marc 16, 9-15
Ressuscité le matin, le premier jour de la semaine, Jésus apparut d’abord à Marie Madeleine, de laquelle il avait expulsé sept démons. Celle-ci partit annoncer la nouvelle à ceux qui, ayant vécu avec lui, s’affligeaient et pleuraient. Quand ils entendirent que Jésus était vivant et qu’elle l’avait vu, ils refusèrent de croire. Après cela, il se manifesta sous un autre aspect à deux d’entre eux qui étaient en chemin pour aller à la campagne. Ceux-ci revinrent l’annoncer aux autres, qui ne les crurent pas non plus. Enfin, il se manifesta aux Onze eux-mêmes pendant qu’ils étaient à table : il leur reprocha leur manque de foi et la dureté de leurs cœurs parce qu’ils n’avaient pas cru ceux qui l’avaient contemplé ressuscité. Puis il leur dit : « Allez dans le monde entier. Proclamez l’Évangile : à toute la création. »

Méditation
Ceux qui, ayant vécu avec lui, s’affligeaient et pleuraient ; ils refusèrent de croire que le Christ était vivant. La croyance en la Résurrection n’est pas une œuvre humaine, mais une grâce divine. C’est pourquoi, malgré leur peu de foi et leur dureté de cœur, le Christ fait encore confiance à ses disciples. C’est eux qu’il envoie proclamer l’Evangile à toute la création. Sais-tu que, malgré ton peu de foi et tes péchés, le Christ te fait confiance et t’envoie en mission pour annoncer l’Evangile de la vie ?

First reading : Acts 4:1-12
While Peter and John were talking to the people the priests came up to them, accompanied by the captain of the Temple and the Sadducees. They were extremely annoyed at their teaching the people the doctrine of the resurrection from the dead by proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus. They arrested them, but as it was already late, they held them till the next day. But many of those who had listened to their message became believers, the total number of whom had now risen to something like five thousand. The next day the rulers, elders and Scribes had a meeting in Jerusalem with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, Jonathan, Alexander and all the members of the high-priestly families. They made the prisoners stand in the middle and began to interrogate them, ‘By what power, and by whose name have you men done this?’ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, addressed them, ‘Rulers of the people, and elders! If you are questioning us today about an act of kindness to a cripple, and asking us how he was healed, then I am glad to tell you all, and would indeed be glad to tell the whole people of Israel, that it was by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the one you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by this name and by no other that this man is able to stand up perfectly healthy, here in your presence, today. Jesus showed himself again to the disciples. It was by the Sea of Tiberias, and it happened like this: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee and two more of his disciples were together. Simon Peter said, ‘I’m going fishing.’ They replied, ‘We’ll come with you.’ They went out and got into the boat but caught nothing that night. It was light by now and there stood Jesus on the shore, though the disciples did not realise that it was Jesus. Jesus called out, ‘Have you caught anything, friends?’ And when they answered, ‘No’, he said, ‘Throw the net out to starboard and you’ll find something.’ So they dropped the net, and there were so many fish that they could not haul it in. The disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord.’ At these words ‘It is the Lord’, Simon Peter, who had practically nothing on, wrapped his cloak round him and jumped into the water. The other disciples came on in the boat, towing the net and the fish; they were only about a hundred yards from land. As soon as they came ashore they saw that there was some bread there, and a charcoal fire with fish cooking on it. Jesus said, ‘Bring some of the fish you have just caught.’ Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore, full of big fish, one hundred and fifty-three of them; and in spite of there being so many the net was not broken. Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ None of the disciples was bold enough to ask, ‘Who are you?’; they knew quite well it was the Lord. Jesus then stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish. This was the third time that Jesus showed himself to the disciples after rising from the dead.
Prayer over the Offerings
Perfect within us, O Lord, we pray, the solemn exchange brought about by these paschal offerings, that we may be drawn from earthly desires to a longing for the things of heaven. Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer after Communion
Keep safe, O Lord, we pray, those whom you have saved by your kindness that, redeemed by the Passion of your Son, they may rejoice in his Resurrection. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Meditation
The beautiful encounter between Jesus and His disciples reaches its culmination in a shared breakfast. After a night of unsuccessful fishing, they follow Jesus’ instruction to cast their into the deep, the result is a miraculous catch of fish. Yet, what is more captivating in this scene is that as they come ashore, they find Jesus preparing a fire and cooking fish to share. This shared breakfast transcends the fact of sharing a meal, it symbolises communion and fellowship with the risen Christ. In partaking of this meal, the disciples move into a deeper relationship with their Lord, one marked by intimacy, hospitality, and love. While not explicitly mentioned in the Gospel today, we foresee that the invitation, “Come and have breakfast,” will soon transform into “Feed my sheep.” Jesus is preparing to entrust Peter with a mission. His breakfast invitation is not merely an offer of food; it serves as a summons to relationship, mission, and purpose. Much like the disciples, we too are called to leave behind our empty nets and step into a life filled with the abundance of Christ’s presence.

He was born in Sigmaringen in Germany. He joined the Capuchin Friars at the age of 35 and led a harsh life of prayer and vigils. He was murdered by a Calvinist mob at Seewis on 24 April 1622.

O God, who have united the many nations in confessing your name, grant that those reborn in the font of Baptism may be one in the faith of their hearts and the homage of their deeds. First reading : Acts 3:11-26
Everyone came running towards Peter and John in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called, where the man was still clinging to Peter and John. When Peter saw the people he addressed them, ‘Why are you so surprised at this? Why are you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness? You are Israelites, and it is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servant Jesus, the same Jesus you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after Pilate had decided to release him. It was you who accused the Holy One, the Just One, you who demanded the reprieve of a murderer while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are the witnesses; and it is the name of Jesus which, through our faith in it, has brought back the strength of this man whom you see here and who is well known to you. The disciples told their story of what had happened on the road and how they had recognised him at the breaking of bread. But he said, ‘Why are you so agitated, and why are these doubts rising in your hearts? Look at my hands and feet; yes, it is I indeed. Touch me and see for yourselves; a ghost has no flesh and bones as you can see I have.’ And as he said this he showed them his hands and feet. Their joy was so great that they still could not believe it, and they stood there dumbfounded; so he said to them, ‘Have you anything here to eat?’ And they offered him a piece of grilled fish, which he took and ate before their eyes. Then he told them, ‘This is what I meant when I said, while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets and in the Psalms has to be fulfilled.’ He then opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and he said to them, ‘So you see how it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in his name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Meditation
Our Gospel today presents the Risen Jesus appearing among His disciples, offering them peace and showing them His hands and feet as tangible proof of His Resurrection. This encounter transforms the disciples, dispelling their doubts, and they return to Jerusalem with eagerness to share their profound experiences. They become fervent witnesses to the Resurrection, proclaiming the good news with newfound conviction. This narrative serves as a reminder that we, too, are called to be witnesses, spreading the love and hope of Christ to the world. Jesus commissions His disciples to bear witness to His Resurrection. In a world marked by doubt, fear, and uncertainty, the message of the Resurrection brings forth hope, joy, and peace. It is a message that calls us to believe in the power of God to overcome sin and death and it encourages us to live our lives in the radiant light of this truth. May the Risen Christ fill our hearts with the same joy and excitement the disciples experience when they encounter the Risen Christ. Let us continue to share the Good News with all those we encounter, becoming messengers of hope and bearers of the Resurrection message.

Missionnaire ardent, il cherche à ramener les chrétiens à l’unité et meurt pour la foi catholique en Suisse, après avoir pardonné à ses meurtriers.

1ère lecture : Act 3, 11-26
En ces jours-là, l’infirme que Pierre et Jean venaient de guérir ne les lâchait plus. Tout le peuple accourut vers eux au Portique dit de Salomon. Les gens étaient stupéfaits. Voyant cela, Pierre interpella le peuple : « Hommes d’Israël, pourquoi vous étonner ? Pourquoi fixer les yeux sur nous, comme si c’était en vertu de notre puissance personnelle ou de notre piété que nous lui avons donné de marcher ? Le Dieu d’Abraham, d’Isaac et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères, a glorifié son serviteur Jésus, alors que vous, vous l’aviez livré, vous l’aviez renié en présence de Pilate qui était décidé à le relâcher. Vous avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et vous avez demandé qu’on vous accorde la grâce d’un meurtrier. Vous avez tué le Prince de la vie, lui que Dieu a ressuscité d’entre les morts, nous en sommes témoins. Tout repose sur la foi dans le nom de Jésus Christ : c’est ce nom lui-même qui vient d’affermir cet homme que vous regardez et connaissez; oui, la foi qui vient par Jésus l’a rétabli dans son intégrité physique, en votre présence à tous. D’ailleurs, frères, je sais bien que vous avez agi dans l’ignorance, vous et vos chefs. Mais Dieu a ainsi accompli ce qu’il avait d’avance annoncé par la bouche de tous les prophètes : que le Christ, son Messie souffrirait. Convertissez-vous et tournez-vous vers Dieu pour que vos péchés soient effacés. Ainsi viendront les temps de la fraîcheur de la part du Seigneur, et il enverra le Christ Jésus qui vous est destiné. Il faut en effet que le ciel l’accueille jusqu’à l’époque où tout sera rétabli, comme Dieu l’avait dit par la bouche des saints, ceux d’autrefois, ses prophètes. Moïse a déclaré : Le Seigneur votre Dieu suscitera pour vous, du milieu de vos frères, un prophète comme moi : vous l’écouterez en tout ce qu’il vous dira. Quiconque n’écoutera pas ce prophétisera retrancher du peuple. Ensuite, tous les prophètes qui ont parlé depuis Samuel et ses successeurs, aussi nombreux furent-ils, ont annoncé les jours où nous sommes. C’est vous qui êtes les fils des prophètes et de l’Alliance que Dieu a conclue avec vos pères, quand il disait à Abraham : En ta descendance seront bénies toutes les familles de la terre. C’est pour vous d’abord que Dieu a suscité son Serviteur, et il l’a envoyé vous bénir, pourvu que chacun de vous se détourne de sa méchanceté. »

En ce temps-là, les disciples qui rentraient d’Emmaüs racontaient aux onze Apôtres et à leurs compagnons ce qui s’était passé sur la route, et comment le Seigneur s’était fait reconnaître par eux à la fraction du pain. Comme ils en parlaient encore, lui-même fut présent au milieu d’eux, et leur dit : « La paix soit avec vous ! » Saisis de frayeur et de crainte, ils croyaient voir un esprit. Jésus leur dit : « Pourquoi êtes-vous bouleversés? Et pourquoi ces pensées qui surgissent dans votre cœur ? Voyez mes mains et mes pieds : c’est bien moi ! Touchez-moi, regardez : un esprit n’a pas de chair ni d’os comme vous constatez que j’en ai. » Après cette parole, il leur montra ses mains et ses pieds. Dans leur joie, ils n’osaient pas encore y croire, et restaient saisis d’étonnement. Jésus leur dit : « Avez-vous ici quelque chose à manger ? » Ils lui présentèrent une part de poisson grillé qu’il prit et mangea devant eux. Puis il leur déclara: « Voici les paroles que je vous ai dites quand j’étais encore avec vous : “Il faut que s’accomplisse tout ce qui a été écrit à mon sujet dans la loi de Moïse, les Prophètes et les Psaumes.” » Alors il ouvrit leur intelligence à la compréhension des Écritures. Il leur dit : « Ainsi est-il écrit que le Christ souffrirait, qu’il ressusciterait d’entre les morts le troisième jour, et que la conversion serait proclamée en son nom, pour le pardon des péchés, à toutes les nations, en commençant par Jérusalem. À vous d’en être les témoins. »

Accueille avec bonté, Seigneur, le sacrifice que nous offrons pour te rendre grâce, à toi qui fais renaître tes enfants par le baptême et qui t’empresses de soutenir ton Église. Par Jésus.

Méditation
« La paix soit avec vous ! » Chaque rencontre avec le Christ ressuscité apporte un élément nouveau. Aujourd’hui, il nous apporte la paix. Finit le temps de la peur des événements de la passion et de la mort. Le Christ ressuscité n’est pas un fantôme, ses disciples ne rêvent pas, c’est bien lui en personne, celui qui a partagé le dernier repas avec eux leur demande un morceau de poisson pour les rassurer. Peux-tu témoigner de la résurrection du Christ dans ta vie ?

1ère lecture : Act 3, 1-10
En ces jours-là, Pierre et Jean montaient au Temple pour la prière de l’après-midi, à la neuvième heure. On y amenait alors un homme, infirme de naissance, que l’on installait chaque jour à la porte du Temple, appelée la « Belle-Porte », pour qu’il demande l’aumône à ceux qui entraient. Voyant Pierre et Jean qui allaient entrer dans le Temple, il leur demanda l’aumône. Alors Pierre, ainsi que Jean, fixa les yeux sur lui, et il dit : « Regarde-nous ! » L’homme les observait, s’attendant à recevoir quelque chose de leur part. Pierre déclara : « De l’argent et de l’or, je n’en ai pas; mais ce que j’ai, je te le donne: au nom de Jésus Christ le Nazaréen, lève-toi et marche. » Alors, le prenant par la main droite, il le releva et, à l’instant même, ses pieds et ses chevilles s’affermirent. D’un bond, il fut debout et il marchait. Entrant avec eux dans le Temple, il marchait, bondissait, et louait Dieu. Et tout le peuple le vit marcher et louer Dieu. On le reconnaissait: c’est bien lui qui était assis à la « Belle-Porte» du Temple pour demander l’aumône. Et les gens étaient frappés de stupeur et désorientés devant ce qui lui était arrivé.

R/ Joie pour les cœurs qui cherchent Dieu
Rendez grâce au Seigneur, proclamez son nom, annoncez parmi les peuples ses hauts faits ; chantez et jouez pour lui, redites sans fin ses merveilles.
Glorifiez-vous de son nom très saint : joie pour les cœurs qui cherchent Dieu! Cherchez le Seigneur et sa puissance, recherchez sans trêve sa face.
Vous, la race d’Abraham son serviteur, les fils de Jacob, qu’il a choisis. Le Seigneur, c’est lui notre Dieu : ses jugements font loi pour l’univers.
Il s’est toujours souvenu de son alliance, parole édictée pour mille générations : promesse faite à Abraham, garantie par serment à Isaac.

Évangile : Luc 24, 13-35
Le même jour (c’est-à-dire le premier jour de la semaine), deux disciples faisaient route vers un village appelé Emmaüs, à deux heures de marche de Jérusalem, et ils parlaient entre eux de tout ce qui s’était passé. Or, tandis qu’ils s’entretenaient et s’interrogeaient, Jésus lui-même s’approcha, et il marchait avec eux. Mais leurs yeux étaient empêchés de le reconnaître. Jésus leur dit: « De quoi discutez-vous en marchant ?» Alors, ils s’arrêtèrent, tout tristes. L’un des deux, nommé Cléophas, lui répondit : « Tu es bien le seul étranger résidant à Jérusalem qui ignore les événements de ces jours-ci. » Il leur dit : « Quels événements ? » Ils lui répondirent : « Ce qui est arrivé à Jésus de Nazareth, cet homme qui était un prophète puissant par ses actes et ses paroles devant Dieu et devant tout le peuple : comment les grands prêtres et nos chefs l’ont livré, ils l’ont fait condamner à mort et ils l’ont crucifié. Nous, nous espérions que c’était lui qui allait délivrer Israël. Mais avec tout cela, voici déjà le troisième jour qui passe depuis que c’est arrivé. A vrai dire, des femmes de notre groupe nous ont remplis de stupeur. Quand, dès l’aurore, elles sont allées au tombeau, elles n’ont pas trouvé son corps ; elles sont venues nous dire qu’elles avaient même eu une vision : des anges, qui disaient qu’il est vivant. Quelques-uns de nos compagnons sont allés au tombeau, et ils ont trouvé les choses comme les femmes l’avaient dit; mais lui, ils ne l’ont pas vu. » Il leur dit alors : « Esprits sans intelligence ! Comme votre cœur est lent à croire tout ce que les prophètes ont dit ! Ne fallait-il pas que le Christ souffrît cela pour entrer dans sa gloire ? » Et, partant de Moïse et de tous les Prophètes, il leur interpréta, dans toute l’Écriture, ce qui le concernait. Quand ils approchèrent du village où ils se rendaient, Jésus fit semblant d’aller plus loin. Mais ils s’efforcèrent de le retenir: « Reste avec nous, car le soir approche et déjà le jour baisse. » Il entra donc pour rester avec eux. Quand il fut à table avec eux, ayant pris le pain, il prononça la bénédiction et, l’ayant rompu, il le leur donna. Alors leurs yeux s’ouvrirent, et ils le reconnurent, mais il disparut à leurs regards. Ils se dirent l’un à l’autre : « Notre cœur n’était-il pas brûlant en nous, tandis qu’il nous parlait sur la route et nous ouvrait les Écritures ?» À l’instant même, ils se levèrent et retournèrent à Jérusalem. Ils y trouvèrent réunis les onze Apôtres et leurs compagnons, qui leur dirent : « Le Seigneur est réellement ressuscité : il est apparu à Simon-Pierre. » À leur tour, ils racontaient ce qui s’était passé sur la route, et comment le Seigneur s’était fait reconnaître par eux à la fraction du pain.
Prière sur les offrandes
Accueille, Seigneur, le sacrifice qui rachète les hommes ; et dans ton action bienveillante, procure-nous le salut de l’esprit et du corps. Par Jésus.

Au soir de la résurrection, les disciples reconnurent le Seigneur quand il rompit le pain, alléluia.

Nous te le demandons, Seigneur : que cette communion au mystère de ton Fils nous fasse entrer, libres de tout vieillissement, dans la nouvelle création. Par Jésus.
Méditation
« Tu es bien le seul étranger résidant à Jérusalem qui ignore les événements de ces jours-ci. » Voici deux disciples deçus des années passées à la suite du Christ. Tout a été une grande imposture, des années perdues. Ils espéraient que c’était lui qui allait délivrer Israël. Que faire ? Ils rentrent au village pour recommencer la vie à zéro. Voilà la grande tentation de la foi : abandonner quand viennent les épreuves. Et voilà l’œuvre démotivatrice du démon : semer la déception et la division dans le cœur de l’homme pour qu’il abandonne le combat pour la vie véritable. Mais, dans leur grande déception, les disciples sont rejoints par le Christ ressuscité. C’est la première évangélisation après la résurrection. Et le Christ laisse l’homme à son libre arbitre. Que feront-t-ils de cette rencontre avec le Ressuscité ? Ils reprennent la route pour Jérusalem pour annoncer à leur frère la Bonne Nouvelle. Aujourd’hui sais-tu que le Christ t’envoie annoncer la victoire de la vie sur la mort.

First reading : Acts 3:1-10
Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour, it happened that there was a man being carried past. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to put him down every day near the Temple entrance called the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the people going in. When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them. Both Peter and John looked straight at him and said, ‘Look at us.’ He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them, but Peter said, ‘I have neither silver nor gold, but I will give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!’ Peter then took him by the hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles became firm, he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumping and praising God. Everyone could see him walking and praising God, and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. They were all astonished and unable to explain what had happened to him.

Two of the disciples of Jesus were on their way to a village called Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking together about all that had happened. Now as they talked this over, Jesus himself came up and walked by their side; but something prevented them from recognising him. He said to them, ‘What matters are you discussing as you walk along?’ They stopped short, their faces downcast. Then one of them, called Cleopas, answered him, ‘You must be the only person staying in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have been happening there these last few days.’ ‘What things?’ he asked. ‘All about Jesus of Nazareth’ they answered ‘who proved he was a great prophet by the things he said and did in the sight of God and of the whole people; and how our chief priests and our leaders handed him over to be sentenced to death, and had him crucified. Our own hope had been that he would be the one to set Israel free. And this is not all: two whole days have gone by since it all happened; and some women from our group have astounded us: they went to the tomb in the early morning, and when they did not find the body, they came back to tell us they had seen a vision of angels who declared he was alive. Some of our friends went to the tomb and found everything exactly as the women had reported, but of him they saw nothing.’ Then he said to them, ‘You foolish men! So slow to believe the full message of the prophets! Was it not ordained that the Christ should suffer and so enter into his glory?’ Then, starting with Moses and going through all the prophets, he explained to them the passages throughout the Scriptures that were about himself. When they drew near to the village to which they were going, he made as if to go on; but they pressed him to stay with them. ‘It is nearly evening’ they said ‘and the day is almost over.’ So he went in to stay with them. Now while he was with them at table, he took the bread and said the blessing; then he broke it and handed it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he had vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?’ They set out that instant and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven assembled together with their companions, who said to them, ‘Yes, it is true. The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.’ Then they told their story of what had happened on the road and how they had recognised him at the breaking of bread.

Receive, we pray, O Lord, the sacrifice which has redeemed the human race, and be pleased to accomplish in us salvation of mind and body. Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer after Communion
We pray, O Lord, that the reverent reception of the Sacrament of your Son may cleanse us from our old ways and transform us into a new creation. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
The disciples, journeying on the road to Emmaus, carry heavy hearts burdened with grief and disappointment. However, as the story unfolds, Jesus opens the Scriptures to them, revealing how all the prophecies point to Him. The disciples’ eyes finally open when they sit down to break bread together, recognising Jesus in their midst. His presence fills them with joy, prompting them to rush back to Jerusalem to share the Good News. The Emmaus story serves as a beautiful reflection on our journeys of faith, underscoring the reassuring truth that Christ walks with us even in moments of darkness. The Emmaus encounter transforms us into messengers of hope, compelling us to share the joy of the Resurrection with others. Journeying with the Risen Christ becomes the most profound and uplifting experience in our lives. Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Mary stayed outside near the tomb, weeping. They said, ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ ‘They have taken my Lord away’ she replied ‘and I don’t know where they have put him.’ As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not recognise him. Who are you looking for?’ Supposing him to be the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and remove him.’ Jesus said, ‘Mary!’ She knew him then and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbuni!’ – which means Master. Meditation
Our Gospel recounts Mary’s profound encounter with the Risen Christ at the tomb. This encounter illustrates the transformative power of encountering the living Christ in our lives. We see a grief-stricken Mary, overwhelmed by sorrow, who arrives at the tomb only to find it empty. Her grief echoes our moments of sadness and loss. However, as she draws near, her world undergoes a remarkable shift. In an instant, Jesus calls her name, and recognition dawns like the rising sun. Jesus reveals Himself to her, and her sorrow turns to joy. The message of hope and consolation resonates deeply with each one of us! Just as Jesus calls Mary by name, He also calls each of us by name, inviting us into a personal relationship with Him. Let us attentively listen for His voice calling us by name, offering comfort, hope, and new life. In response, like Mary Magdalene, let us embrace joy and renew our commitment to follow Him faithfully.

Par l’eau du baptême, Dieu a répondu à notre soif du Christ. Les baptisés peuvent s’appuyer sur le Christ, ils ne fléchiront pas, ils ne seront jamais déçus, alléluia.

Dieu qui nous as fait passer de la mort à la vie, en nous offrant les sacrements de Pâques, poursuis toujours l’œuvre de ta grâce: que ton peuple trouve une liberté parfaite, et parvienne à la joie du ciel dont tu lui donnes déjà le goût sur la terre. Par Jésus.
1ère lecture : Act 2, 36-41
Le jour de la Pentecôte, Pierre disait à la foule : « Que toute la maison d’Israël le sache donc avec certitude : Dieu l’a fait Seigneur et Christ, ce Jésus que vous aviez crucifié. » Les auditeurs furent touchés au cœur; ils dirent à Pierre et aux autres Apôtres: « Frères, que devons-nous faire ? » Pierre leur répondit : « Convertissez-vous, et que chacun de vous soit baptisé au nom de Jésus Christ pour le pardon de ses péchés; vous recevrez alors le don du Saint-Esprit. Car la promesse est pour vous, pour vos enfants et pour tous ceux qui sont loin, aussi nombreux que le Seigneur notre Dieu les appellera. » Par bien d’autres paroles encore, Pierre les adjurait et les exhortait en disant : « Détournez-vous de cette génération tortueuse, et vous serez sauvés. » Alors, ceux qui avaient accueilli la parole de Pierre furent baptisés. Ce jour-là, environ trois mille personnes se joignirent à eux.

Oui, elle est droite, la parole du Seigneur ; il est fidèle en tout ce qu’il fait. Il aime le bon droit et la justice; la terre est remplie de son amour.
Dieu veille sur ceux qui le craignent, qui mettent leur espoir en son amour, pour les délivrer de la mort, les garder en vie aux jours de famine.
Nous attendons notre vie du Seigneur : il est pour nous un appui, un bouclier. Que ton amour, Seigneur, soit sur nous comme notre espoir est en toi !

En ce temps-là, Marie Madeleine se tenait près du tombeau, au-dehors, tout en pleurs. Et en pleurant, elle se pencha vers le tombeau. Elle aperçoit deux anges vêtus de blanc, assis l’un à la tête et l’autre aux pieds, à l’endroit où avait reposé le corps de Jésus. Ils lui demandent : « Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu ? » Elle leur répond: «On a enlevé mon Seigneur, et je ne sais pas où on l’a déposé.» Ayant dit cela, elle se retourna ; elle aperçoit Jésus qui se tenait là, mais elle ne savait pas que c’était Jésus. Jésus lui dit : « Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? Qui cherches-tu ? » Le prenant pour le jardinier, elle lui répond: « Si c’est toi qui l’as emporté, dis-moi où tu l’as déposé, et moi, j’irai le prendre.» Jésus lui dit alors: « Marie! » S’étant retournée, elle lui dit en hébreu : « Rabbouni! », c’est-à-dire : Maître. Jésus reprend: « Ne me retiens pas, car je ne suis pas encore monté vers le Père. Va trouver mes frères pour leur dire que je monte vers mon Père et votre Père, vers mon Dieu et votre Dieu. » Marie Madeleine s’en va donc annoncer aux disciples : « J’ai vu le Seigneur ! », et elle raconta ce qu’il lui avait dit.
Prière sur les offrandes
Reçois avec bonté, Seigneur, les offrandes de ton peuple : garde-le sous ta protection, pour qu’il ne perde aucun des biens que tu lui donnes, et qu’il découvre ceux qui demeurent toujours. Par Jésus.

Ressuscités avec le Christ, recherchons les réalités d’en-haut: c’est là qu’est le Christ, assis à la droite de Dieu. Alléluia.
Prière après La communion
Écoute notre prière, Dieu tout-puissant : toi qui as donné à tes fidèles la grâce incomparable du baptême, prépare-les au bonheur éternel. Par Jésus.
Méditation « Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? » Jésus ressuscité vient essuyé les larmes à ses disciples. L’heure du deuil est finie, le Christ se fait reconnaître par les siens. Et il les envoie en mission. C’est d’abord les femmes qui reçoivent la mission d’annoncer la Résurrection : « Va trouver mes frères pour leur dire ». Qu’est-ce que le Christ voudrait que tu dises aux tiens aujourd’hui ? Pense-y.

First reading : Acts 2:14,22-33
On the day of Pentecost Peter stood up with the Eleven and addressed the crowd in a loud voice: ‘Men of Israel, listen to what I am going to say: Jesus the Nazarene was a man commended to you by God by the miracles and portents and signs that God worked through him when he was among you, as you all know. This man, who was put into your power by the deliberate intention and foreknowledge of God, you took and had crucified by men outside the Law. You killed him, but God raised him to life, freeing him from the pangs of Hades; for it was impossible for him to be held in its power since, as David says of him: I saw the Lord before me always, for with him at my right hand nothing can shake me. So my heart was glad and my tongue cried out with joy; my body, too, will rest in the hope that you will not abandon my soul to Hades nor allow your holy one to experience corruption. You have made known the way of life to me, you will fill me with gladness through your presence.’ Brothers, no one can deny that the patriarch David himself is dead and buried: his tomb is still with us. But since he was a prophet, and knew that God had sworn him an oath to make one of his descendants succeed him on the throne, what he foresaw and spoke about was the resurrection of the Christ: he is the one who was not abandoned to Hades, and whose body did not experience corruption. God raised this man Jesus to life, and all of us are witnesses to that. Now raised to the heights by God’s right hand, he has received from the Father the Holy Spirit, who was promised, and what you see and hear is the outpouring of that Spirit.’

Filled with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell the disciples. And there, coming to meet them, was Jesus. ‘Greetings’ he said. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee; they will see me there. ‘While they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests all that had happened. These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum of money to the soldiers with these instructions, ‘This is what you must say, “His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.” And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselves and to see that you do not get into trouble.’ The soldiers took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among the Jews.

Meditation
Despite the overwhelming evidence of Jesus’ resurrection, the religious leaders choose to deny the truth and fabricate a story to cover up the miraculous event. Conversely, upon encountering the angel who proclaims the astonishing news of Jesus’s resurrection, the women are filled with awe and great joy. Their immediate response is to run and share this incredible message with the disciples. They cannot keep the message to themselves. When Jesus instructs the women with the words, “Go and tell my brothers,” it implies that Easter joy should not be kept hidden. Rather, it should be shared with the world, radiating God’s love with the urgency and enthusiasm demonstrated by the women. We are called to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, much like these faithful women who run to spread the Good News. Easter challenges us to stand firm in our faith, boldly proclaim the truth of the resurrection, and live as joyful witnesses of Christ’s victory.

Le Seigneur s’est relevé d’entre les morts ; c’est pour nous jour de fête et de joie, car il règne pour les siècles, alléluia.

Dieu qui agrandit toujours ton Église en lui donnant par le baptême de nouveaux enfants, accorde à tes fils d’être fidèles toute leur vie au sacrement qu’ils ont reçu dans la foi. Par Jésus.
1ère lecture : Act 2, 14.22b- 33
Le jour de la Pentecôte, Pierre, debout avec les onze autres Apôtres, éleva la voix et leur fit cette déclaration : « Vous, Juifs, et vous tous qui résidez à Jérusalem, sachez bien ceci, prêtez l’oreille à mes paroles. Il s’agit de Jésus le Nazaréen, homme que Dieu a accrédité auprès de vous en accomplissant par lui des miracles, des prodiges et des signes au milieu de vous, comme vous le savez vous-mêmes. Cet homme, livré selon le dessein bien arrêté et la prescience de Dieu, vous l’avez supprimé en le clouant sur le bois par la main des impies. Mais Dieu l’a ressuscité en le délivrant des douleurs de la mort, car il n’était pas possible qu’elle le retienne en son pouvoir. En effet, c’est de lui que parle David dans le psaume : Je voyais le Seigneur devant moi sans relâche : il est à ma droite, je suis inébranlable. C’est pourquoi mon cœur est en fête, et ma langue exulte de joie; ma chair elle-même reposera dans l’espérance: tu ne peux m’abandonner au séjour des morts ni laisser ton fidèle voir la corruption. Tu m’as appris des chemins de vie, tu me rempliras d’allégresse par ta présence. Frères, il est permis de vous dire avec assurance, au sujet du patriarche David, qu’il est mort, qu’il a été enseveli, et que son tombeau est encore aujourd’hui chez nous. Comme il était prophète, il savait que Dieu lui avait juré de faire asseoir sur son trône un homme issu de lui. Il a vu d’avance la résurrection du Christ, dont il a parlé ainsi: Il n’a pas été abandonné à la mort, et sa chair n’a pas vu la corruption. Ce Jésus, Dieu l’a ressuscité; nous tous, nous en sommes témoins. Élevé par la droite de Dieu, il a reçu du Père l’Esprit Saint qui était promis, et il l’a répandu sur nous, ainsi que vous le voyez et l’entendez.».

Évangile : Mathieu 28, 8-15
En ce temps-là, quand les femmes eurent entendu les paroles de l’ange, vite, elles quittèrent le tombeau, remplies à la fois de crainte et d’une grande joie, et elles coururent porter la nouvelle à ses disciples. Et voici que Jésus vint à leur rencontre et leur dit : « je vous salue.» Elles s’approchèrent, lui saisirent les pieds et se prosternèrent devant lui. Alors Jésus leur dit : « Soyez sans crainte, allez annoncer à mes frères qu’ils doivent se rendre en Galilée : c’est là qu’ils me verront.» Tandis qu’elles étaient en chemin, quelques-uns des gardes allèrent en ville annoncer aux grands prêtres tout ce qui s’était passé. Ceux-ci, après s’être réunis avec les anciens et avoir tenu conseil, donnèrent aux soldats une forte somme en disant: « Voici ce que vous direz : “Ses disciples sont venus voler le corps, la nuit pendant que nous dormions.” Et si tout cela vient aux oreilles du gouverneur, nous lui expliquerons la chose, et nous vous éviterons tout ennui. » Les soldats prirent l’argent et suivirent les instructions. Et cette explication s’est propagée chez les Juifs jusqu’à aujourd’hui.
Prière sur Les offrandes
Accueille avec bonté, Seigneur, les offrandes de ton peuple ; renouvelé par la foi et le baptême, qu’il parvienne au bonheur sans fin. Par Jésus.

Ressuscité d’entre les morts le Christ ne meurt plus ; sur lui, la mort n’a plus aucun pouvoir, alléluia.
Prière après la communion
Que la grâce du mystère pascal abonde et fructifie en nous, Dieu tout-puissant ; tu nous as mis sur le chemin du salut, aide-nous à répondre à tes bienfaits. Par Jésus.
Méditation
« Ses disciples sont venus voler le corps, la nuit pendant que nous dormions ». Judas Iscariote avait reçu trente pièces d’argent pour livrer Jésus aux Juifs. A la résurrection, les soldats reçoivent une forte somme d’argent pour occulter l’avènement de la Résurrection. C’était le dernier combat et le plus virulent que l’homme menait contre Dieu. Si le Christ n’était pas ressuscité, vaine alors aurait été la foi des premiers disciples. Ça aurait été la fin de l’œuvre de Dieu sur terre, et le monde allait prendre possession de l’univers. Mais, tous ceux-là ne comptaient pas sur un élément étrange : le Christ ressuscité précédait les siens en Galilée pour leur offrir la foi en sa présence définitive. Jamais ils ne seront plus seuls, le Christ lui-même les précède dans leur mission.
