SAINTE MARTINE, VIERGE ET MARTYRE

Considérée comme la patronne de Rome sa vie est une légende, sans fondement historique concret, mais elle est néanmoins très vénérée. Sainte Martine est dite avoir été une noble romaine qui s’est convertie au christianisme et a distribué ses richesses aux pauvres. Elle a été arrêtée et torturée pour sa foi, finalement décapitée sous l’empereur Alexandre Sévère.

Antienne d’ouverture : Ps 95, 1-6

Prière d’ouverture :

1ère lecture : 2 S 11, 1-4a.5-10a. 13-17
Au retour du printemps, à l’époque où les rois se mettent en campagne, David envoya Joab en expédition, avec ses officiers et toute l’armée d’Israël ; ils massacrèrent les fils d’Ammone et mirent le siège devant Rabba. David était resté à Jérusalem. Un soir, il se leva de sa couche pour se promener sur la terrasse du palais. De là, il aperçut une femme en train de se baigner. Cette femme était très belle. David fit demander qui elle était, et on lui répondit : « Mais c’est Bethsabée, fille d’Éliam, la femme d’Ourias le Hittite ! » Alors David envoya des gens la chercher. Elle vint chez lui ; il coucha avec elle. La femme devint enceinte, et elle fit savoir à David : « Je suis enceinte ! » Alors David expédia ce message à Joab : « Envoie-moi Ourias le Hittite. » Et Joab l’envoya à David. Lorsque Ourias fut arrivé auprès de lui, David lui demanda comment allaient Joab, et l’armée, et la guerre. Puis il lui dit : « Descends chez toi, prends du repos. » Ourias sortit du palais, et l’on portait derrière lui une portion de la table du roi. Mais Ourias se coucha à l’entrée du palais avec les serviteurs de son maître ; il ne descendit pas chez lui. On annonça à David : « Ourias n’est pas descendu chez lui . » Le lendemain, David l’invita à manger et à boire à sa table, et il l’enivra. Le soir, Ourias sortit et alla se coucher à nouveau avec les serviteurs de son maître ; mais il ne descendit pas chez lui. Le matin suivant, David écrivit une lettre pour Joab, et la fit porter par Ourias. Il disait dans cette lettre : « Mettez Ourias en première ligne, au plus fort de la mêlée, puis repliez-vous derrière lui ; qu’il soit frappé et qu’il meure ! » Joab, qui assiégeait la ville, plaça Ourias à un endroit où il savait que les ennemis étaient en force. Les assiégés firent une sortie contre Joab. Il y eut des tués dans l’armée, parmi les serviteurs de David, et Ourias le Hittite mourut aussi.

Psaume : Ps 50 (51), 3-4, 5-6ab, 6cd-7, 10-11
R/ Pitié, Seigneur, car nous avons péché ! (cf. Ps 50, 3)

  1. Pitié pour moi, mon Dieu, dans ton amour, selon ta grande miséricorde, efface mon péché. Lave-moi tout entier de ma faute, purifie-moi de mon offense.
  2. Oui, je connais mon péché, ma faute est toujours devant moi. Contre toi, et toi seul, j’ai péché, ce qui est mal à tes yeux, je l’ai fait.
  3. Ainsi, tu peux parler et montrer ta justice, être juge et montrer ta victoire. Moi, je suis né dans la faute, j’étais pécheur dès le sein de ma mère.
  4. Fais que j’entende les chants et la fête : ils danseront, les os que tu broyais. Détourne ta face de mes fautes, enlève tous mes péchés.

Évangile : Mc 4, 26-34
En ce temps-là, Jésus disait aux foules : « Il en est du règne de Dieu comme d’un homme qui jette en terre la semence : nuit et jour, qu’il dorme ou qu’il se lève, la semence germe et grandit, il ne sait comment. D’elle-même, la terre produit d’abord l’herbe, puis l’épi, enfin du blé plein l’épi. Et dès que le blé est mûr, il y met la faucille, puisque le temps de la moisson est arrivé. » Il disait encore : « À quoi allons-nous comparer le règne de Dieu ? Par quelle parabole pouvons-nous le représenter ? Il est comme une graine de moutarde : quand on la sème en terre, elle est la plus petite de toutes les semences. Mais quand on l’a semée, elle grandit et dépasse toutes les plantes potagères ; et elle étend de longues branches, si bien que les oiseaux du ciel peuvent faire leur nid à son ombre. » Par de nombreuses paraboles semblables, Jésus leur annonçait la Parole, dans la mesure où ils étaient capables de l’entendre. Il ne leur disait rien sans parabole, mais il expliquait tout à ses disciples en particulier.

Prière sur les offrandes :
Dans ta bonté, Seigneur, accepte notre offrande: Qu’elle soit sanctifiée et serve ainsi à notre salut. Par Jésus.

Ensemble, approchez du Seigneur: resplendissez de sa lumière et sur votre visage il n’y aura plus d’ombre.

Permets, nous t’en prions, Dieu tout-puissant, Qu’ayant reçu de toi la grâce d’une nouvelle vie, nous puissions nous en émerveiller toujours. Par Jésus.

Méditation :
Cette parabole se prête à de multiples lectures. Le personnage principal de l’histoire, c’est le temps ? C’est lui qui oblige l’homme à se mettre à son pas, qui commande successivement la patience et la décision. Et la leçon que Jésus veut donner est, avant tout, qu’il en va ainsi dans le Règne de Dieu, comme l’expérience la plus constante et la plus banale des hommes. Prendre le rythme d’un autre est une des choses les plus coûteuses qui soient. Il faut savoir que Dieu a, lui aussi, son rythme personnel, et que c’est à nous à bien vouloir nous y ajuster. Vouloir cueillir le fruit avant qu’il ne s’y prête ne mène qu’à compromettre sa maturation, quelquefois fatalement. De tous les discernements, celui des temps est le plus nécessaire ; ce qu’il y a à faire est généralement assez facile à reconnaître. Mais à quel moment il faut le faire, c’est le plus souvent ce qui ne peut être perçu que dans une écoute intérieure très fine de l’Esprit, et c’est aussi de quoi dépendent, pour les trois quarts, les chances de la moisson.

She lived in Rome during the reign of Emperor Alexander Severus, under his persecution, she was arrested and ordered to worship pagan idols. She was known for her charitable nature and unwavering faith. She was tortured and beheaded for refusing to sacrifice to pagan gods, according to tradition.

First reading: 2 Samuel 11:1-4a, 5-10a, 13-17
At the turn of the year, when kings go out on campaign, David sent out Joab along with his officers and the army of Israel, and they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. David, however, remained in Jerusalem. One evening David rose from his siesta and strolled about on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing, who was very beautiful. David had inquiries made about the woman and was told, “She is Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam, and wife of Joab’s armor bearer Uriah the Hittite.” Then David sent messengers and took her. When she came to him, he had relations with her. She then returned to her house. But the woman had conceived, and sent the information to David, “I am with child.” David therefore sent a message to Joab, “Send me Uriah the Hittite.” So Joab sent Uriah to David. When he came, David questioned him about Joab, the soldiers, and how the war was going, and Uriah answered that all was well. David then said to Uriah, “Go down to your house and bathe your feet.” Uriah left the palace, and a portion was sent out after him from the king’s table. But Uriah slept at the entrance of the royal palace with the other officers of his lord, and did not go down to his own house. David was told that Uriah had not gone home. On the day following, David summoned him, and he ate and drank with David, who made him drunk. But in the evening Uriah went out to sleep on his bed among his lord’s servants, and did not go down to his home. The next morning David wrote a letter to Joab which he sent by Uriah. In it he directed: “Place Uriah up front, where the fighting is fierce. Then pull back and leave him to be struck down dead.” So while Joab was besieging the city, he assigned Uriah to a place where he knew the defenders were strong. When the men of the city made a sortie against Joab, some officers of David’s army fell, and among them Uriah the Hittite died.

Without parables he did not speak to them, but to his own disciples he explained everything in private.

Meditation
“The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed.” A mustard seed is very tiny, but when it is planted, it grows slowly and steadily over the years to become a big tree that provides shelter for birds. Similarly, our faith in God is usually manifested in small and seemingly insignificant things: going to mass regularly on Sundays, praying every morning and evening, offering a kind word or a smile to someone, giving a helping hand to a person in need, telling the truth when one could have lied, and trying to do one’s work well or to study with diligence. We may not notice it, but if we persevere in these little acts, over time we shall be slowly but surely transformed. Our belief in God will grow stronger and stronger, and we will become more and more like Christ. The obstacle to this process of transformation is sin, and we are all vulnerable to it. David, the righteous king, fell into temptation; we too sin against God every day. But like the Psalmist, let us never hesitate to return to God for forgiveness; in this way, despite our weaknesses, we will continue to be transformed in the image of Christ.

He was a 6th-century British monk, historian, and saint, known for his work “De Excidio et Conquestu Britanniae” (“On the Ruin and Conquest of Britain”). He was born around 500 in the Clyde Valley, educated in Wales, and later established a monastery at Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys in Brittany. He’s considered the first British historian and is known for his writings critical of the moral decline of his time.

Meditation
“To the one who has, more will be given.” What do we have? We have life, health, loving families, friends, the chance to receive an education, talents and skills. In short, we have all the blessings that God has given to us. We will receive more blessings from God if we remain in communion with him and work hard to exploit the gifts he has given us. But we will lose the gifts we have if we stray away from God and do not exploit what we have received from him. David had received kingship, wealth and glory from God, and God promised him through the prophet Nathan to bless him and his family forever. Upon receiving this promise, he did not rest on his laurels; rather, he went to God in prayer to thank him and implore him to keep his promise by maintaining his favour on his household. That is how we receive more blessings from God; by always returning to him in prayer and continuously striving to be hardworking and virtuous in our daily dealings. May we hunger and thirst for more and more of God’s blessings.

SAINT GILDAS

Saint Gildas, dit « le sage », est né dans l’île de Bretagne ; il a reçu son éducation dans le Sud-est du pays de Galles actuel. Il s’établit sur le continent y fonda avec quelques compagnons l’abbaye de Rhuys, où il mourut en 570. L’abbaye de Rhuys a conservé son tombeau et développé son culte… Saint Gildas est connu sous les formes bretonnes de Sant Veltas ou Saint Gueltas.

Pour toi, tu as établi à jamais ton peuple Israël, et toi, Seigneur, tu es devenu son Dieu. Maintenant donc, Seigneur Dieu, la parole que tu as dite au sujet de ton serviteur et de sa maison, tiens-la pour toujours, et agis selon ce que tu as dit. Que ton nom soit exalté pour toujours! Que l’on dise: “Le Seigneur de l’univers est le Dieu d’Israël”, et la maison de ton serviteur David sera stable en ta présence. Car rien n’est caché, sinon pour être manifesté ; rien n’a été gardé secret, sinon pour venir à la clarté. Si quelqu’un a des oreilles pour entendre, qu’il entende ! » Il leur disait encore : « Faites attention à ce que vous entendez ! La mesure que vous utilisez sera utilisée aussi pour vous, et il vous sera donné encore plus. Car celui qui a, on lui donnera ; celui qui n’a pas, on lui enlèvera même ce qu’il a. »

Méditation :
Les apôtres ne sont guère accordés spontanément aux paroles de Jésus puisqu’il doit sans cesse leur poser des questions comme ferait un bon enseignant. Saint Marc vient nous proposer un temps d’arrêt, comme une pause, une attente secrète : « Rien n’est caché, sinon pour être manifesté. » « Faites attention à ce que vous entendez.» L’annonce du Royaume, lumière en nos nuits d’angoisse, ne peut se confondre avec les tapages médiatiques, éblouissants pour un instant, mais que nous oublions aussitôt. La lumière promise nous conduit et nous comble. L’Evangile nous propose d’ouvrir les yeux de notre cœur et les oreilles de notre intelligence pour que cette Parole lumineuse, qui est la vérité de Jésus-Christ, vienne résonner en nous.

THOMAS D’AQUIN, PRETRE ET DOCTEUR DE L’EGLISE

Né dans une noble famille napolitaine et élevé à l’abbaye bénédictine du Mont-Cassin, Thomas choisit à 19 ans d’entrer chez les Frères Prêcheurs. Il est l’auteur de la Somme Théologique, ouvrage dans lequel il met en œuvre la leçon de Saint Albert le Grand selon laquelle il faut faire confiance à la raison et à l’intelligence de l’homme pour chercher Dieu. Il meurt sur la route, en chemin vers Lyon où il devait participer au grand Concile de 1274.

Antienne d’ouverture :
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : « Je me susciterai un prêtre fidèle, qui agira selon mon cœur et mon désir. »

Prière d’ouverture :
Dieu qui as fait de saint Thomas d’Aquin un modèle admirable par sa recherche d’une vie sainte et son amour de la science sacrée, accorde-nous de comprendre ses enseignements et de suivre ses exemples. Par Jésus.

1ère lecture : 2 S 7, 4-17
Cette nuit-là, la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Nathan: «Va dire à mon serviteur David: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Est-ce toi qui me bâtiras une maison pour que j’y habite? Depuis le jour où j’ai fait monter d’Égypte les fils d’Israël et jusqu’à ce jour, je n’ai jamais habité dans une maison ; j’ai été comme un voyageur, sous la tente qui était ma demeure. Pendant tout le temps où j’étais comme un voyageur parmi tous les fils d’Israël, ai-je demandé à un seul des juges que j’avais institués pasteurs de mon peuple Israël: “Pourquoi ne m’avez-vous pas bâti une maison de cèdre?” Tu diras donc à mon serviteur David: Ainsi parle le Seigneur de l’univers: C’est moi qui t’ai pris au pâturage, derrière le troupeau, pour que tu sois le chef de mon peuple Israël. J’ai été avec toi partout où tu es allé, j’ai abattu devant toi tous tes ennemis. Je t’ai fait un nom aussi grand que celui des plus grands de la terre. Je fixerai en ce lieu mon peuple Israël, je l’y planterai, il s’y établira et ne tremblera plus, et les méchants ne viendront plus l’humilier, comme ils l’ont fait autrefois, depuis le jour où j’ai institué des juges pour conduire mon peuple Israël. Oui, je t’ai accordé la tranquillité en te délivrant de tous tes ennemis. Le Seigneur t’annonce qu’il te fera lui-même une maison. Quand tes jours seront accomplis et que tu reposeras auprès de tes pères, je te susciterai dans ta descendance un successeur, qui naîtra de toi, et je rendrai stable sa royauté. Méditation :
« Ecoutez. » Si le grain de la Parole est semé à tout vent, le terrain doit être prêt à l’accueillir, dans l’hospitalité de chaque instant. Terre de notre cœur, terre de désir, « terre aride, altérée, sans eau » (Ps 62), terre à creuser, à labourer, à défricher par le long travail de l’écoute. C’est le travail du Peuple d’Israël, celui des disciples, celui qui mène au silence de la croix où l’amour prend racine. La terre devient silencieuse, le grain tombé en terre meurt à soi-même et s’ouvre à la vie de l’Esprit. « Charité, joie, paix, longanimité, serviabilité, bonté, confiance dans les autres, douceur, maîtrise de soi, tels sont les fruits de l’Esprit » (Ga 5, 22). Telle est la fécondité de nos vies pour le Royaume.

Meditation
“The sower sows the Word.” The Word of God has been announced to us by various people God has placed in our paths: our parents, our priests, our catechists, our teachers, our friends, and even strangers. We have easy access to the Holy Scriptures these days. But how do we receive the Word of God? Do we waive it away as an unnecessary distraction? Do we follow it only when it is convenient for us and abandon it when it challenges us? Do we bend it when we are pursuing wealth, power and honour? Or do we allow it to transform our lives so that we become true witnesses of Jesus in the world? Let us allow the Word of God to take root in our lives and bear fruits of holiness and virtue. King David was an example of a true servant of God, who allowed God’s Word to guide his actions. His reward was the kingship of Israel and the assurance of God’s constant protection and blessing. Let us become servants of God like him, who listen to God’s Word and obey it, and God’s blessings will accompany us all the days of our lives.

Biographie de la Sainte :
Angèle Merici (vers 1470-1540), âgée de 65 ans environ, fonda à Brescia l’Institut des Ursulines. Pour assurer la totale disponibilité des religieuses, elle ne voulait pas de clôture, elle souhaitait peu de vie commune et une adaptation périodique de la règle. Sa pédagogie peut être résumée en cette consigne qu’elle donnait aux éducatrices : « attirer les jeunes filles avec amour ».

1ère lecture : 2 S 6, 12b-15. 17-19
En ces jours-là, David fit monter l’arche de Dieu de la maison d’Obed-Édom jusqu’à la Cité de David, au milieu des cris de joie. Quand les porteurs de l’Arche eurent avancé de six pas, il offrit en sacrifice un taureau et un veau gras. David, vêtu d’un pagne de lin, dansait devant le Seigneur, en tournoyant de toutes ses forces. David et tout le peuple d’Israël firent monter l’arche du Seigneur parmi les ovations, au son du cor. Ils amenèrent donc l’arche du Seigneur et l’installèrent à sa place, au milieu de la tente que David avait dressée pour elle. Puis il offrit devant le Seigneur des holocaustes et des sacrifices de paix. Quand David eut achevé d’offrir les holocaustes et les sacrifices de paix, il bénit le peuple au nom du Seigneur des armées. Il fit une distribution à tout le peuple, à la foule entière des Israélites, hommes et femmes : pour chacun une galette de pain, un morceau de rôti et un gâteau de raisins. Ensuite tout le monde s’en retourna chacun chez soi.

Méditation :
« Il est hors de sens » : tel est le reproche que les proches de Jésus lui adressent. Veulent-ils le retenir dans les liens familiaux ? « Ceux qui font la volonté de Dieu, ceux-là sont ma mère, mes frères », répond Jésus. « Nous sommes fous à cause du Christ, mais vous, vous êtes sages en Christ », écrira saint Paul dans sa première lettres aux Corinthiens. Entrer dans la volonté de Dieu, se mettre à la suite du Christ, c’est accepter de se laisser bousculer, désorienter humainement, pour accueillir le don de Dieu et entrer dans la famille que le Christ, par son obéissance, a réconciliée avec Dieu. Les liens familiaux deviennent alors liens de liberté dans l’obéissance à Notre Père qui aime et fait grandir, et qui nous unit dans le véritable amour.

She was born in Desenziano, in Lombardy, in about 1470. She became a Franciscan tertiary and set up a school to instruct girls in Christanity and good works. In 1535 she founded the Ursulines, an order of nuns devoted to giving a Christian education to girls from poor families. She died in 1540.

Meditation
“Whoever does the will of God is my mother, brother and sister.” We all know people who reject their biological parents because they received no love or care from them. On the other hand, we have friends whom we refer to as brothers or sisters because the affection they show to us. Clearly, love can build bonds which are even stronger than family ties. This is also true of our relationship with God; God has only one begotten Son, but we become his sons and daughters if we love him and do his will. David loved God so much that he offered him sacrifices and danced to glorify his name. Mary loved God so much that she surrendered herself to his will by accepting to be the mother of his Son Jesus. She treasured the Word of God her heart and meditated on it; she followed Jesus right to the foot of the cross, and she joined the first Christian community in constant prayer. Let David and Mary be our models; supported by their prayers, may we learn to love and God and obey his will like tem, and we shall be true children of God.

Timothy and Titus were converted to Christianity by St Paul, and became his companions and helpers. Paul entrusted Timothy with the care of the Christians in Ephesus, and sent Titus to Crete to look after the Christians there. He wrote them the so-called “pastoral” epistles, giving advice for pastors and people alike.

Tell among the nations his glory, and his wonders among all the peoples, for the Lord is great and highly to be praised.

Meditation
“I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother and in your mother.” Paul speaks of the origins of Timothy’s faith; he received it from his mother Lois, who in turn received it from her own mother Eunice. In his family therefore, the Christian faith was transmitted from generation to generation. St. John Paul II called the family the domestic Church, and with good reason; it is in the family that the Christian should first be discovered and lived. Parents have a responsibility to initiate their children into the mystery of the faith. They have to teach them to know and love God, to pray, and to practice Christian virtues. In the Gospel, Jesus reprimands the Jews for refusing to believe in his divine power and accusing him of working for the devil; in so doing, they sin against the Holy Spirit. We all have to learn to believe in Jesus, acknowledge his power over all existence, and allow him to transform our lives. This learning process has to begin and be sustained in the family. If you are a parent, then you have the duty to transmit the faith to your spouse and your children.

SAINTS TIMOTHEE ET TITE, EVEQUES

L’Église en Occident les unit comme disciples très chers à Paul qui leur confie la charge épiscopale dans l’Église naissante. Si Timothée fut le compagnon des travaux et des souffrances et aussi confident de Paul, Tite était le négociateur, celui qu’il envoyait pour dissiper les malentendus, apaiser les discordes et organiser une nouvelle Église.

Antienne d’ouverture : Ps 95, 1-6
Chantez au Seigneur un chant nouveau, chantez au Seigneur, terre entière: La splendeur et l’éclat, la puissance et la beauté brillent dans son Temple saint!

Prière d’ouverture :
Dieu éternel et tout-puissant, dirige notre vie selon ton amour, Afin qu’au nom de ton Fils bien-aimé, nous portions des fruits en abondance. Par Jésus Christ.

1ère lecture : 2 Tm 1,1-8
Paul, apôtre du Christ Jésus par la volonté de Dieu, selon la promesse de la vie que nous avons dans le Christ Jésus, à Timothée, mon enfant bien-aimé. À toi, la grâce, la miséricorde et la paix de la part de Dieu le Père et du Christ Jésus notre Seigneur. Je suis plein de gratitude envers Dieu, à qui je rends un culte avec une conscience pure, à la suite de mes ancêtres, je lui rends grâce en me souvenant continuellement de toi dans mes prières, nuit et jour. Me rappelant tes larmes, j’ai un très vif désir de te revoir pour être rempli de joie. J’ai souvenir de la foi sincère qui est en toi : c’était celle qui habitait d’abord Loïs, ta grand-mère, et celle d’Eunice, ta mère, et j’ai la conviction que c’est aussi la tienne. Voilà pourquoi, je te le rappelle, ravive le don gratuit de Dieu, ce don qui est en toi depuis que je t’ai imposé les mains. Car ce n’est pas un esprit de peur que Dieu nous a donné, mais un esprit de force, d’amour et de pondération. N’aie donc pas honte de rendre témoignage à notre Seigneur, et n’aie pas honte de moi, qui suis son prisonnier ; mais, avec la force de Dieu, prends ta part des souffrances liées à l’annonce de l’Évangile.

Psaume 95,1-3,7-8,10
R/ Allez dire au monde entier les merveilles de Dieu (Ps 95,3)

  1. Chantez au Seigneur un chant nouveau, chantez au Seigneur, terre entière, chantez au Seigneur et bénissez son nom!
  2. De jour en jour, proclamez son salut, racontez à tous les peuples sa gloire, à toutes les nations ses merveilles !
  3. Rendez au Seigneur, familles des peuples, rendez au Seigneur la gloire et la puissance, rendez au Seigneur la gloire de son nom.
  4. Allez dire aux nations : « Le Seigneur est roi ! ». Le monde, inébranlable, tient bon. Il gouverne les peuples avec droiture.

Acclamation :
Alléluia. Alléluia. Notre Sauveur, le Christ Jésus, a détruit la mort; il a fait resplendir la vie par l’Évangile. Alléluia. (2 Tm 1, 10)

Évangile : Mc 3, 22-30
En ce temps-là, les scribes, qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem, disaient: «Ce Jésus est possédé par Béelzéboul; c’est par le chef des démons qu’il expulse les démons.» Les appelant près de lui, Jésus leur dit en parabole: «Comment Satan peut-il expulser Satan? Si un royaume est divisé contre lui-même, ce royaume ne peut pas tenir. Si les gens d’une même maison se divisent entre eux, ces gens ne pourront pas tenir. Si Satan s’est dressé contre lui-même, s’il est divisé, il ne peut pas tenir; c’en est fini de lui. Mais personne ne peut entrer dans la maison d’un homme fort et piller ses biens, s’il ne l’a d’abord ligoté. Alors seulement il pillera sa maison. Amen, je vous le dis: Tout sera pardonné aux enfants des hommes: leurs péchés et les blasphèmes qu’ils auront proférés. Mais si quelqu’un blasphème contre l’Esprit Saint, il n’aura jamais de pardon. Il est coupable d’un péché pour toujours.» Jésus parla ainsi parce qu’ils avaient dit: «Il est possédé par un esprit impur.»

Prière sur les offrandes :
Dans ta bonté, Seigneur, accepte notre offrande : Qu’elle soit sanctifiée et serve ainsi à notre salut. Par Jésus.

Antienne de communion : Ps 33, 6
Ensemble, approchez du Seigneur: resplendissez de sa lumière et sur votre visage il n’y aura plus d’ombre.

Prière après la communion :
Permets, nous t’en prions, Dieu tout-puissant, Qu’ayant reçu de toi la grâce d’une nouvelle vie, nous puissions nous en émerveiller toujours. Par Jésus.

Méditation :
Des scribes dénoncent Jésus : « Il a en Lui Béelzéboul, c’est par le chef des démons qu’il expulse les démons. » Accusation absurde qui se brise sur la simplicité limpide de Jésus : un royaume divisé contre lui-même ne peut pas tenir ! Accusation perverse qui attribue le bien à l’esprit du mal. Monstrueux blasphème qui confond « l’Esprit Saint » et « l’esprit impur ». C’est la marque de l’adversaire : lucidité et mensonge. Jésus, rempli d’Esprit Saint, est « le pur ». Il dit et fait le bien. Il est « l’homme fort » qui a lié Satan et délié les hommes.
