Second reading

He had made up his mind to do this when the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. Meditation
Jesus is Emmanuel, God-with-us. Through him God comes to meet us and dwell among us. He comes to be our companion and to journey with us through life. He is the Son of God, endowed with power, and as his name indicates (Jesus means “God saves”), he comes to save us from our sins. He comes to liberate us from all the vices of our human condition and to give us new life, a life lived in communion with God. Let Jesus enter into your heart, for his the King of glory. Let him come and purify your heart and make you a new creature, a child of God. Let the Lord enter; he is the King of glory.
Les missionnaires Claretains ont donné l’occasion aux populations de la localité de SAKDJE de vivre dans leur paroisse les toutes premières ordinations presbytérales.
Moïse Moumassou et Carlos Seutio Cmff sont prêtres de Jésus Christ à jamais . Il ont été ordonnés ce 08 décembre en la paroisse Saint Antoine Marie Claret de Sakdje dans l’archidiocèse de Garoua .
C’était aucours d’une messe pontificale que présidait S. E . Mgr Faustin Ambassa Ndjodo , en présence du supérieur Majeur Jude Thaddeus Langeh , cmf et les membres du Conseil de la Délégation indépendante du Cameroun . Plus d’une vingtaine de prêtres , des religieux et religieuses sont venus communier avec les chrétiens de Sakdje qui ont manifesté leur communion par leur mobilisation pour rehausser l’événement .
Ils étaient plus de 1000 âmes à réceptionner l’eau potable grâce aux efforts conjugués des Claretains et leurs partenaires présents à la l’inauguration. C’est un château d’eau tout neuf et une pompe manuelle qui leur ont été rétrocédés. Un signe de bénédiction pour une localité en manque d’eau potable qui n’a pas seulement reçu de l’eau mais a enfanté des prêtres , deux Missionnaires Claretains , une autre façon de célébrer la vierge Marie , sous le vocable de l’Immaculée conception.
Lors d’un voyage au Luxembourg, elle entra dans le monastère des Dominicaines, contre le gré de sa mère qui s’efforça brutalement de la trainer hors de l’Eglise. Après plusieurs années de refus, sa mère dut consentir à son projet de vie. Elle revint donc au monastère de Marienthal où, élue prieure, elle fut pendant vingt-cinq ans le modèle de toute la communauté.

Méditation
En faisant remonter sa généalogie jusqu’à Abraham, Matthieu écrit aux juifs et veut montrer que le Christ est véritablement le Messie et que le sang qui coule dans ses veines est celui du peuple juif venant du sang des personnages bien connus. Matthieu ponctue cette généalogie en trois séries de quatorze générations chacune. Ce qui est intéressant, c’est que Matthieu, écrivant à des juifs qui sont pourtant patrilinéaires fait intervenir à dessein quatre femmes dans la généalogie : Thamar, déguisée en prostituée sacrée pour que survive la race choisie de Juda ; Rahab la prostituée, Ruth l’étrangère et de Bethsabée la femme d’Urie le Hittite que David fit tué à cause de son adultère avec sa femme. Ainsi, Jésus, fils de Dieu, naît d’une vierge immaculée assume l’histoire de son peuple avec les hauts et les bas. Son dessein n’est pas de venir condamner mais de sauver ceux qui étaient pécheurs. En lui, il n’y aura plus ni juif ni grec, ni esclave ni homme libre, ni homme ni femme (Gal 3, 27-28). Il est le prince de la paix qui vient réconcilier tous les hommes et rassembler les enfants de Dieu dispersés.

Meditation
Some people contest the historicity of Jesus. They claim that Jesus is an invention of the imagination. The genealogy that Matthew presents situates Jesus in space and time. He was a son of the tribe of Judah, and also the heir of the kingship that Jacob entrusted to Judah. Interestingly, Matthew’s genealogy presents Joseph not as the father of Jesus, but as the husband of Mary, wife of Joseph. Joseph is thus Jesus’ father only by adoption; Jesus is the Son of God. He is God as well as man, and his kingship is not earthly, like David’s was, but heavenly. He is our God, and he wants to reign over our lives – if we will let him.

Méditation
Le témoignage est un élément central de la vie chrétienne. Un témoin est une personne qui atteste la vérité d’un fait donné. Tout chrétien doit effectivement être un témoin de Jésus ; il doit montrer au monde, par ses paroles et ses actes, que Jésus est vivant, que Jésus est Seigneur, que Jésus est celui par qui nous sommes sauvés. Jean-Baptiste a témoigné de Jésus ; nous devons faire de même. L’appel à témoigner de Jésus s’adresse à chacun d’entre nous, quelle que soit notre origine ou notre statut. Que nous soyons riches ou pauvres, noirs ou blancs, d’un groupe ethnique ou d’un autre, cela n’a pas d’importance ; ce qui compte, c’est que nous fassions connaître Jésus partout où nous nous trouvons.
