Avec joie et gratitude envers Dieu, nous annonçons l’ordination diaconale de Hugues Rostand Igor Limaleba, CMF, et Victory Ngwame, CMF, qui a eu lieu ce jour, 22 février, à la Chapelle de Veritas University, Bwari, Abuja.
La célébration a été présidée par Son Excellence Mgr Michael F. Crotty, Nonce Apostolique au Nigéria. Dans son homélie, il a rendu grâce à Dieu pour la fête du jour, celle de la Chaire de Saint Pierre, qui constitue un cadre providentiel pour cet événement sacré. Il a souligné l’importance du service et exhorté les nouveaux diacres à vivre pleinement les valeurs de l’Évangile dans l’exercice de leur ministère.
Après l’ordination, une réception a eu lieu à InCLA, rassemblant amis et membres de la congrégation dans une atmosphère de reconnaissance et de joie.
Nous rendons grâce à Dieu pour le don de ces diacres à l’Église et à la Congrégation Clarétaine. Que leur ministère soit fécond et enrichi de la grâce divine.
He was a Benedictine monk of Calabrian lineage, born in Sicily. At a young age he became a monk. He helped to miraculously harvest a large crop ahead of destructive weather, saving the locals from starvation. There he remained until his death of natural causes, in 1129.

When Jesus, with Peter, James and John came down from the mountain and rejoined the disciples, they saw a large crowd round them and some scribes arguing with them. The moment they saw him the whole crowd were struck with amazement and ran to greet him. ‘What are you arguing about with them?’ he asked. A man answered him from the crowd, ‘Master, I have brought my son to you; there is a spirit of dumbness in him, and when it takes hold of him it throws him to the ground, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and goes rigid. And I asked your disciples to cast it out and they were unable to.’ ‘You faithless generation’ he said to them in reply. ‘How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I put up with you? Meditation
How often do you profess your faith? How profound is your belief in the power of your prayers? Have there been instances where your faith was tested to the point of feeling helpless, despite knowing that you have God by your side, and nothing can overpower you? The disciples might have experienced a dual sense of frustration — first, for not being able to cast out the deaf and dumb spirit, and secondly, for receiving a rebuke from Jesus despite their earnest efforts. It is not uncommon for us to find ourselves in similar situations, not necessarily involving evil spirits, but in facing challenges or failing to accomplish seemingly simple tasks. At times, it may involve the struggle to discern the right path to follow. Remember that certain challenges can only be overcome by prayer. Today, let us seek God’s guidance and wisdom, bestowed upon those who love Him, to make the right decisions when confronted with trials of any nature, and consistently walk in His ways.

Méditation
Le cheminement à la suite du Christ est un itinéraire de conversion permanente. Par la foi au Christ mêmes nos infirmités naturelles peuvent être corrigées. Comme cet enfant possédé depuis son plus jeune âge qui trouve libération par la présence et le contact avec le Christ, beaucoup parmi nous portent en eux des défauts depuis leur jeune âge. Ils en sont conscients et on les entend parfois dire « je suis né ainsi, ne me critiquez pas, acceptez-moi tel que je suis » Le Seigneur nous approche-t-il pour que nous restions tels que nous sommes ? La réponse est évidemment non. La suite du Christ et sa présence a pour but de nous libérer et de faire de nous des hommes nouveaux par la foi.

En ces jours-là, Saül se mit en route, il descendit vers le désert de Zif avec trois mille hommes, l’élite d’Israël, pour y traquer David. David et Abishaï arrivèrent de nuit, près de la troupe. Or, Saül était couché, endormi, au milieu du camp, sa lance plantée en terre près de sa tête ; Abner et ses hommes étaient couchés autour de lui. Alors Abishaï dit à David : « Aujourd’hui Dieu a livré ton ennemi entre tes mains. Ce qui vient d’abord, ce n’est pas le spirituel, mais le physique ; ensuite seulement vient le spirituel. Pétri d’argile, le premier homme vient de la terre ; le deuxième homme, lui, vient du ciel. Comme Adam est fait d’argile, ainsi les hommes sont faits d’argile ; comme le Christ est du ciel, ainsi les hommes seront du ciel. Aimer ceux qui vous aiment et pardonner ceux qui vous pardonnent a certainement un mérite. Mais le chrétien doit être un expert en amour, c’est-à-dire qu’il ne doit pas se contenter du minimum mais doit aller au-delà de ce qui est demander. Même les pécheurs aiment ceux qui les aiment. Si vous faites du bien à ceux qui vous en font, quelle reconnaissance méritez-vous ? Même les pécheurs en font autant. Cette recommandation de Jésus d’aimer les ennemis exige au chrétien de passer de la dimension charnelle de l’amour à une dimension véritablement spirituelle. Ne plus aimer parce que nous sommes d’une même famille ou d’un même pays. Ne plus aimer tout simplement parce que nous partageons les mêmes points de vue mais aimer tout simplement pour Dieu. L’amour de Dieu n’exclut personne, il s’étend jusqu’aux ennemis.

Meditation
God’s ultimate purpose for us is not to be lost but to gain eternal life and come and dwell with Him in heaven. Paul explains this in his first letter to the Corinthians when he draws a comparison between the two Adams; the first is earthly and human, and the second is heavenly and divine. Human nature, modelled on the earthly man, is called to be transformed to the heavenly nature of the divine man. However, to attain this heavenly state, man must choose to promote life above all other options on earth. David serves as a practical example of how to treat even our enemies, sparing their lives because every life is sacred from the moment of conception to natural death, and it belongs to God. Above all, the Gospel gives us the golden rule: treat others as you would like them to treat you. While leaving all judgement and vengeance to God, let us, even amidst the most despicable deceptions, frustrations, and betrayals, learn to be compassionate and forgiving of each other.
