Prière d’ouverture
Écoute nos prières avec bonté, Seigneur, fais grandir notre foi en ton Fils qui est ressuscité des morts pour que soit plus vive aussi notre espérance en la résurrection de tous nos frères défunts. Par Jésus.
1ère lecture : Sg 2,23; 3,1-6.9
Dieu a créé l’homme pour une existence impérissable, il a fait de lui une image de ce qu’il est en lui-même. La vie des justes est dans la main de Dieu, aucun tourment n’a de prise sur eux. Celui qui ne réfléchit pas s’est imaginé qu’ils étaient morts ; leur départ de ce monde a passé pour un malheur ; quand ils nous ont quittés, on les croyait anéantis, alors qu’ils sont dans la paix. Aux yeux des hommes, ils subissaient un châtiment, mais par leur espérance ils avaient déjà l’immortalité. Ce qu’ils ont eu à souffrir était peu de chose auprès du bonheur dont ils seront comblés, car Dieu les a mis à l’épreuve et les a reconnus dignes de lui. Comme on passe l’or au feu du creuset, il a éprouvé leur valeur ; comme un sacrifice offert sans réserve, il les a accueillis. Ceux qui mettent leur confiance dans le Seigneur comprendront la vérité ; ceux qui sont fidèles resteront avec lui dans son amour, car il accorde à ses élus grâce et miséricorde.
Psaume : 26 (27), 1, 4, 7-9a, 13-14
R/ J’en suis sûr, je verrai les bontés du Seigneur sur la terre des vivants. (26, 13)
Le Seigneur est ma lumière et mon salut ; de qui aurais-je crainte ? Le Seigneur est le rempart de ma vie ; devant qui tremblerais-je ?
J’ai demandé une chose au Seigneur, la seule que je cherche : habiter la maison du Seigneur tous les jours de ma vie, pour admirer le Seigneur dans sa beauté et m’attacher à son temple.
Écoute, Seigneur, je t’appelle ! Pitié ! Réponds-moi ! Mon cœur m’a redit ta parole : « Cherchez ma face. » C’est ta face, Seigneur, que je cherche : ne me cache pas ta face.
Mais j’en suis sûr, je verrai les bontés du Seigneur sur la terre des vivants. « Espère le Seigneur, sois fort et prends courage ; espère le Seigneur. »
2ème Lecture : 1 Co 15, 51-57
Frères, c’est un mystère que je vous annonce : nous ne mourrons pas tous, mais tous nous serons transformés, et cela en un instant, en un clin d’œil, quand, à la fin, la trompette retentira. Car elle retentira, et les morts ressusciteront, impérissables, et nous, nous serons transformés. Il faut en effet que cet être périssable que nous sommes revête ce qui est impérissable; il faut que cet être mortel revête l’immortalité. Et quand cet être périssable aura revêtu ce qui est impérissable, quand cet être mortel aura revêtu l’immortalité, alors se réalisera la parole de l’Écriture : La mort a été engloutie dans la victoire. Ô Mort, où est ta victoire ? Ô Mort, où est-il, ton aiguillon ? L’aiguillon de la mort, c’est le péché ; ce qui donne force au péché, c’est la Loi. Rendons grâce à Dieu qui nous donne la victoire par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ.

Evangile : Mt 25, 31-46.
En ce temps-là, Jésus disait à ses disciples: « Quand le Fils de l’homme viendra dans sa gloire, et tous les anges avec lui, alors il siégera sur son trône de gloire. Toutes les nations seront rassemblées devant lui ; il séparera les hommes les uns des autres, comme le berger sépare les brebis des boucs : il placera les brebis à sa droite, et les boucs à gauche. Alors le Roi dira à ceux qui seront à sa droite : ‘Venez, les bénis de mon Père, recevez en héritage le Royaume préparé pour vous depuis la fondation du monde. Car j’avais faim, et vous m’avez donné à manger ; j’avais soif, et vous m’avez donné à boire ; j’étais un étranger, et vous m’avez accueilli ; j’étais nu, et vous m’avez habillé ; j’étais malade, et vous m’avez visité ; j’étais en prison, et vous êtes venus jusqu’à moi !’ Alors les justes lui répondront : ‘Seigneur, quand est-ce que nous t’avons vu…? tu avais donc faim, et nous t’avons nourri ? tu avais soif, et nous t’avons donné à boire? tu étais un étranger, et nous t’avons accueilli ? tu étais nu, et nous t’avons habillé ? tu étais malade ou en prison… Quand sommes-nous venus jusqu’à toi ?’ Et le Roi leur répondra : ‘Amen, je vous le dis : chaque fois que vous l’avez fait à l’un de ces plus petits de mes frères, c’est à moi que vous l’avez fait.’ Alors il dira à ceux qui seront à sa gauche : ‘Allez-vous-en loin de moi, vous les maudits, dans le feu éternel préparé pour le diable et ses anges. Car j’avais faim, et vous ne m’avez pas donné à manger ; j’avais soif, et vous ne m’avez pas donné à boire ; j’étais un étranger, et vous ne m’avez pas accueilli; j’étais nu, et vous ne m’avez pas habillé; j’étais malade et en prison, et vous ne m’avez pas visité.’ Alors ils répondront, eux aussi : ‘Seigneur, quand t’avons-nous vu avoir faim, avoir soif, être nu, étranger, malade ou en prison, sans nous mettre à ton service ?’ Il leur répondra: ‘Amen, je vous le dis : chaque fois que vous ne l’avez pas fait à l’un de ces plus petits, c’est à moi que vous ne l’avez pas fait.’ Et ils s’en iront, ceux-ci au châtiment éternel, et les justes, à la vie éternelle. »

Sois favorable à nos offrandes, Seigneur: que tous les fidèles défunts soient admis dans le Royaume avec ton Fils qui nous unit les uns aux autres par le mystère de son amour. Lui qui.

Ouvre, Seigneur, à nos frères défunts ta maison de lumière et de paix, car c’est pour eux que nous avons célébré le sacrement de la Pâque. Par Jésus.
Méditation :
Jésus raconte la parabole du Jugement Dernier. Méditons sur ces paroles profondes. Jésus nous rappelle que notre vie sera évaluée non seulement par notre foi, mais aussi par nos actions envers les autres. «Ce que vous avez fait à l’un de ces plus petits de mes frères, c’est à moi que vous l’avez fait.» Cette déclaration souligne la valeur de la compassion, de l’amour et du service envers les plus vulnérables de notre société. Méditons sur notre responsabilité envers nos frères et sœurs dans le besoin. Cherchons à répondre à l’appel de Jésus en faisant preuve de générosité et de solidarité. En agissant ainsi, nous préparons notre cœur pour le royaume de Dieu et vivons selon Son amour.

Listen kindly to our prayers, O Lord, and, as our faith in your Son, raised from the dead, is deepened, so may our hope of resurrection for your departed servants also find new strength. First reading : Wisdom 3:1-9
The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God, no torment shall ever touch them. In the eyes of the unwise, they did appear to die, their going looked like a disaster, their leaving us, like annihilation; but they are in peace. If they experienced punishment as men see it, their hope was rich with immortality; slight was their affliction, great will their blessings be. God has put them to the test and proved them worthy to be with him; he has tested them like gold in a furnace, and accepted them as a holocaust. When the time comes for his visitation they will shine out; as sparks run through the stubble, so will they. They shall judge nations, rule over peoples, and the Lord will be their king for ever. Second reading : Romans 5:5-11
Hope is not deceptive, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given us. We were still helpless when at his appointed moment Christ died for sinful men. It is not easy to die even for a good man – though of course for someone really worthy, a man might be prepared to die – but what proves that God loves us is that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Having died to make us righteous, is it likely that he would now fail to save us from God’s anger? When we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, we were still enemies; now that we have been reconciled, surely we may count on being saved by the life of his Son? Not merely because we have been reconciled but because we are filled with joyful trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have already gained our reconciliation.

Gospel : Luke 7:11-17
Jesus went to a town called Nain, accompanied by his disciples and a great number of people. When he was near the gate of the town it happened that a dead man was being carried out for burial, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a considerable number of the townspeople were with her. When the Lord saw her he felt sorry for her. ‘Do not cry’ he said. Then he went up and put his hand on the bier and the bearers stood still, and he said, ‘Young man, I tell you to get up.’ And the dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Everyone was filled with awe and praised God saying, ‘A great prophet has appeared among us; God has visited his people.’ And this opinion of him spread throughout Judaea and all over the countryside.
Prayer over the Offerings
Look favourably on our offerings, O Lord, so that your departed servants may be taken up into glory with your Son, in whose great mystery of love we are all united. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Prayer after Communion
Grant we pray, O Lord, that your departed servants, for whom we have celebrated this paschal Sacrament, may pass over to a dwelling place of light and peace. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
Today, we commemorate those who have gone before us, praying for their eternal rest and finding solace in the hope of our own resurrection. In the Gospel reading, we hear the story of Jesus raising a widow’s son to life. The widow, devastated by the death of her only son, faces the prospect of being alone in her old age without the support she anticipated from her son. In this desolate moment, Jesus offers words of consolation: “Do not cry.” Then, he touches the bier, and the bearers stand still. Addressing the deceased, he says, “Young man, I tell you to get up.” Miraculously, the dead man sits up, begins to speak, and Jesus gives him to his mother. (Luke 7:13-15). Jesus is always with us, present even in our darkest moments. He sees our pain, and he cares for us. He is our source of hope and comfort, especially in the face of death. As we fervently pray for the souls of the faithful departed, let us recall Jesus’ comforting words: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26) May these words be a source of comfort to us as we grieve the loss of our loved ones.

All Saints Day is the day on which Catholics celebrate all the saints, known and unknown. All Saints Day beckons us to something beautiful: It reminds us of our great potential—the promise that lies within each of us. The promise of holiness.
Entrance Antiphon
Let us all rejoice in the Lord, as we celebrate the feast day in honour of all the Saints, at whose festival the Angels rejoice and praise the Son of God.
Collect
Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration, the merits of all the Saints, bestow on us, we pray, through the prayers of so many intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
First reading : Apocalypse 7:2-4.9-14

Prayer over the Offerings
May these offerings we bring in honour of all the Saints be pleasing to you, O Lord, and grant that, just as we believe the Saints to be already assured of immortality, so we may experience their concern for our salvation.Through Christ our Lord.

Meditation
There is a popular idea that a saint is someone who never commits any wrongdoing, possesses inherent goodness and purity, and leads a flawlessly holy life. Consequently, we immortalise them in stained-glass windows, carve statues in their likeness, and erect churches bearing their names. We push them away from us as much as possible. This perception leads people to believe they can never attain the same level of holiness as the saints. We wonder if they ever faced the stresses of everyday life as we do. Yet, saints were never immune from the countless trials and hardships we endure. Despite the trials and persecutions they faced on earth, they made efforts to wash their robes white with the blood of the lamb (cf. Ap 7:14). In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us that holiness is indispensable for entering the happiness of the Kingdom of heaven. The saints embraced the Beatitudes earnestly, navigating life with clean hands, pure hearts, and a commitment to peace. Therefore, we must acknowledge that we, too, are called to become saints.

La sainteté de Dieu, c’est le mystère de sa vie et de son amour infini. Il veut nous communiquer cette vie sainte et il sanctifie ceux qui cherchent à s’unir à lui. Ceux-là, l’Eglise les appelle des saints et nous les donne pour modèles. Aujourd’hui, elle nous invite à penser à la foule anonyme et innombrable de ceux qui, dans les cieux, glorifient l’agneau de Dieu et son Père, sans que les hommes aient jamais discerné combien leur union avec Jésus avait été profonde sur la terre.
Antienne d’ouverture
Tous ensemble, réjouissons-nous dans le Seigneur, célébrons ce jour de fête en l’honneur de tous les saints. Les anges se réjouissent avec nous de cette fête ; ils en glorifient le Fils de Dieu.
Prière d’ouverture
Dieu éternel et tout-puissant, tu nous donnes de célébrer dans une même fête la sainteté de tous les élus ; puisqu’une telle multitude intercède pour nous, réponds à nos désirs, accorde-nous largement tes grâces. Par Jésus.
1ère lecture : Ap 7, 2-4.9-14
Moi, Jean, j’ai vu un ange qui montait du côté où le soleil se lève, avec le sceau qui imprime la marque du Dieu vivant ; d’une voix forte, il cria aux quatre anges qui avaient reçu le pouvoir de faire du mal à la terre et à la mer : « Ne faites pas de mal à la terre, ni à la mer, ni aux arbres, avant que nous ayons marqué du sceau le front des serviteurs de notre Dieu.» Et j’entendis le nombre de ceux qui étaient marqués du sceau: ils étaient cent quarante-quatre mille, de toutes les tribus des fils d’Israël. Après cela, j’ai vu : et voici une foule immense, que nul ne pouvait dénombrer, une foule de toutes nations, tribus, peuples et langues. Ils se tenaient debout devant le Trône et devant l’Agneau, vêtus de robes blanches, avec des palmes à la main. Amen ! » L’un des Anciens prit alors la parole et me dit : « Ces gens vêtus de robes blanches, qui sont-ils, et d’où viennent-ils? » Je lui répondis : « Mon seigneur, toi, tu le sais. » Il me dit : « Ceux-là viennent de la grande épreuve ; ils ont lavé leurs robes, ils les ont blanchies par le sang de l’Agneau. »

R/ Voici le peuple de ceux qui cherchent ta face, Seigneur.
Au Seigneur, le monde et sa richesse, la terre et tous ses habitants ! C’est lui qui l’a fondée sur les mers et la garde inébranlable sur les flots.
Qui peut gravir la montagne du Seigneur et se tenir dans le lieu saint? L’homme au cœur pur, aux mains innocentes, qui ne livre pas son âme aux idoles.
Il obtient, du Seigneur, la bénédiction, et de Dieu son Sauveur, la justice. Voici le peuple de ceux qui le cherchent ! Qui recherche la face du Dieu de Jacob.
2ème lecture : 1 Jn 3, 1-3
Bien-aimés, voyez quel grand amour nous a donné le Père pour que nous soyons appelés enfants de Dieu – et nous le sommes. Voici pourquoi le monde ne nous connaît pas : c’est qu’il n’a pas connu Dieu. Bien-aimés, dès maintenant, nous sommes enfants de Dieu, mais ce que nous serons n’a pas encore été manifesté. Nous le savons: quand cela sera manifesté, nous lui serons semblables car nous le verrons tel qu’il est. Et quiconque met en lui une telle espérance se rend pur comme lui-même est pur.

Méditation
Dans l’Évangile selon Matthieu 5:1-12a, Jésus prononce les Béatitudes, enseignant des leçons précieuses sur la béatitude et la bonté. Méditons sur ces paroles aujourd’hui : «Heureux les pauvres en esprit, car le royaume des cieux est à eux.» Cette béatitude nous rappelle que l’humilité ouvre la porte à la grâce divine. Cherchons à être modestes en cœur, à cultiver la paix, et à persévérer dans la justice. En suivant ces enseignements, nous pouvons trouver la béatitude dans notre marche spirituelle et vivre en harmonie avec le royaume de Dieu.

He was bishop of Regensburg in Bavaria from Christmas 972 until his death. He is a saint of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches (canonized in 1052). He is regarded as one of the three great German saints of the 10th century, the other two being Saint Ulrich and Saint Conrad of Constance.
Entrance Antiphon : Ps 104: 3-4

Almighty ever-living God, increase our faith, hope and charity, and make us love what you command, so that we may merit what you promise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
First reading : Romans 9:1-5
What I want to say now is no pretence; I say it in union with Christ – it is the truth – my conscience in union with the Holy Spirit assures me of it too. What I want to say is this: my sorrow is so great, my mental anguish so endless, I would willingly be condemned and be cut off from Christ if it could help my brothers of Israel, my own flesh and blood. They were adopted as sons, they were given the glory and the covenants; the Law and the ritual were drawn up for them, and the promises were made to them. They are descended from the patriarchs and from their flesh and blood came Christ who is above all, God for ever blessed! Amen.

Gospel : Luke 14:1-6
Now on a sabbath day Jesus had gone for a meal to the house of one of the leading Pharisees; and they watched him closely. There in front of him was a man with dropsy, and Jesus addressed the lawyers and Pharisees. ‘Is it against the law’ he asked ‘to cure a man on the sabbath, or not?’ But they remained silent, so he took the man and cured him and sent him away. Then he said to them, ‘Which of you here, if his son falls into a well, or his ox, will not pull him out on a sabbath day without hesitation?’ And to this they could find no answer.

Look, we pray, O Lord, on the offerings we make to your majesty, that whatever is done by us in your service may be directed above all to your glory. Through Christ our Lord.

May your Sacraments, O Lord, we pray, perfect in us what lies within them, that what we now celebrate in signs we may one day possess in truth. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
It seems that the man with dropsy has been intentionally brought in during mealtime as a setup to test Jesus. He is there simply as a trap to see if Jesus will heal him on a Sabbath. Jesus looks more than happy to willingly engage with the situation for He promptly heals the man and sends him on his way. While the Pharisees show no concern for the sick man, except to use him as a bait, Jesus shows total respect by addressing the sick man’s most pressing need, thus restoring him to a fuller life. Jesus stands as a testament to true religion that treats others with the respect, upholding the dignity of the individual created in God’s image. As disciples of Jesus, we are invited today to follow his example, emulating his way of relating to others. When we adopt Jesus’ approach, guided by the power of the Holy Spirit, we “will reach the perfect goodness which Christ Jesus produces in us for the glory and praise of God.”
