First reading: 1 Kings 8:1-7, 9-13
The elders of Israel and all the leaders of the tribes, the princes in the ancestral houses of the children of Israel, came to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from the City of David, which is Zion. All the people of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ethanim (the seventh month). When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark; they carried the ark of the Lord and the meeting tent with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent. (The priests and Levites carried them.) King Solomon and the entire community of Israel present for the occasion sacrificed before the ark sheep and oxen too many to number or count. The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place beneath the wings of the cherubim in the sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple. The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above. There was nothing in the ark but the two stone tablets which Moses had put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel at their departure from the land of Egypt. When the priests left the holy place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord so that the priests could no longer minister because of the cloud, since the Lord’s glory had filled the temple of the Lord. Then Solomon said, “The Lord intends to dwell in the dark cloud; I have truly built you a princely house, a dwelling where you may abide forever.”

Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.

Meditation
“They brought the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.” King Solomon built a Temple for the Lord in Jerusalem, and the Temple became a sign of God’s presence among the people of Israel. It contained the Ark of the Covenant, and after its dedication a cloud filled it, and this showed that God was indeed among his people. Through our baptism we become temples of the Holy Spirit, which means that God abides in us and through us he is present in the world. We therefore have to make the world feel God’s presence and action through us. We learn from the Gospel that one effective way of doing this is by taking people to Jesus. The Gospel tells us that wherever people heard Jesus was, they took the sick to him so that he could heal them. We should also take our sick friends and relations to Jesus for healing through our prayers of intercession and our words of encouragement. We should encourage those who are spiritually lukewarm or indifferent to turn to Jesus and seek an encounter with him. We should be among those who draw people closer to Jesus, and not among those who send people away from him.

Première lecture : Is 58, 7-10
Lecture du livre du prophète Isaïe. Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Partage ton pain avec celui qui a faim, accueille chez toi les pauvres sans abri, couvre celui que tu verras sans vêtement, ne te dérobe pas à ton semblable. - Lumière des cœurs droits, il s’est levé dans les ténèbres, homme de justice, de tendresse et de pitié. L’homme de bien a pitié, il partage ; il mène ses affaires avec droiture.
- Cet homme jamais ne tombera ; toujours on fera mémoire du juste. Il ne craint pas l’annonce d’un malheur : le cœur ferme, il s’appuie sur le Seigneur.
- Son cœur est confiant, il ne craint pas. À pleines mains, il donne au pauvre ; à jamais se maintiendra sa justice, sa puissance grandira, et sa gloire!

« Je suis venu vous annoncer le mystère du Christ crucifié »
Frères, quand je suis venu chez vous, je ne suis pas venu vous annoncer le mystère de Dieu avec le prestige du langage ou de la sagesse. Parmi vous, je n’ai rien voulu connaître d’autre que Jésus Christ, ce Messie crucifié. Et c’est dans la faiblesse, craintif et tout tremblant, que je me suis présenté à vous. Mon langage, ma proclamation de l’Évangile, n’avaient rien d’un langage de sagesse qui veut convaincre ; mais c’est l’Esprit et sa puissance qui se manifestaient, pour que votre foi repose, non pas sur la sagesse des hommes, mais sur la puissance de Dieu.

Méditation
La charité est lumière; lumière pour les coeurs endurcie, lumière pour ceux et celle qui traverse les ténèbres terrestre. Même un sourire est un acte charitable capable de briser les coeurs rocailleux de ceux qui trempant leurs lèvres dans les vicissitudes de la vie ont oublié qu’il y a un Dieu de bonté. Le Christ nous invite en ce jour à faire prévue de bonté envers nos semblables. “Nul n’est trop pauvre pour n’avoir rien à partager et nul n’est trop riche pour n’avoir rien à recevoir.”(Jean Rodhain) Ce faisant, il ne faut pas manqué d’y ajouter une dose d’humilité.

Meditation
“You are the salt of the earth; you are the light of the world.” We believe in Jesus who died and rose again and made us children of God. This Jesus, whom we worship as our Lord and our God, wants us to transform the world in the manner of salt and light. Salt gives taste to food; we should give meaning to the lives of others through our acts of charity. Light dispels darkness and shows the way; we should point the right direction to others by defending justice. Charity and justice have to be hallmarks of our lives. We give the love of God to the world by providing for the needy to the best of our abilities. We become agents of justice by defending the oppressed and acting with honesty and fairness at all times. Jesus wants to transform the world, and he needs us to accomplish this. Let us be the voices, hands and feet that he uses to make the world a place in which love and justice prevail.

Meditation
“Lord, teach me your statutes.” Solomon asked God to give him wisdom, so that he would be able to distinguish right from wrong and rule well. When Jesus saw the great crowd of people, he began to teach them many things. Just as we need to be taught Mathematics, Chemistry and Geography, we need to be taught the Word of God. It is this Word that enables us to distinguish good from evil; it is what will make us live a life without fault; it is what will empower us to rule our families, communities and countries with wisdom. Jesus wants to teach us the statutes of God. He teaches us through his written Word and through the Church. Let us pray for the grace to be good disciples who, like Solomon, listen to God’s Word and follow it. Let us allow Jesus to teach us by reading Holy Scripture daily and listening to the pastors he gives us: our priests, bishops, deacons, catechists, and every other person who teaches us. Let us pray that he may enlighten the leaders of the Church, so that they may be good teachers who guide us with sound doctrine.

À Gabaon, pendant la nuit, le Seigneur lui apparut en songe. Dieu lui dit: « Demande ce que je dois te donner. » Salomon répondit: « Tu as traité ton serviteur David, mon père, avec une grande fidélité, lui qui a marché en ta présence dans la loyauté, la justice et la droiture de cœur envers toi. Tu lui as gardé cette grande fidélité, tu lui as donné un fils qui est assis maintenant sur son trône. Donne à ton serviteur un cœur attentif pour qu’il sache gouverner ton peuple et discerner le bien et le mal; sans cela, comment gouverner ton peuple, qui est si important? » Cette demande de Salomon plut au Seigneur, qui lui dit: « Puisque c’est cela que tu as demandé, et non pas de longs jours, ni la richesse, ni la mort de tes ennemis, mais puisque tu as demandé le discernement, l’art d’être attentif et de gouverner, je fais ce que tu as demandé: je te donne un cœur intelligent et sage, tel que personne n’en a eu avant toi et que personne n’en aura après toi. De plus, je te donne même ce que tu n’as pas demandé, la richesse et la gloire, si bien que pendant toute ta vie tu n’auras pas d’égal parmi les rois. »

Évangile : Mc 6, 30-34
En ce temps-là, les Apôtres se réunirent auprès de Jésus, et lui annoncèrent tout ce qu’ils avaient fait et enseigné. Il leur dit: « Venez à l’écart dans un endroit désert, et reposez-vous un peu.» De fait, ceux qui arrivaient et ceux qui partaient étaient nombreux, et l’on n’avait même pas le temps de manger. Alors, ils partirent en barque pour un endroit désert, à l’écart. Les gens les virent s’éloigner, et beaucoup comprirent leur intention. Alors, à pied, de toutes les villes, ils coururent là-bas et arrivèrent avant eux. En débarquant, Jésus vit une grande foule. Il fut saisi de compassion envers eux, parce qu’ils étaient comme des brebis sans berger. Alors, il se mit à les enseigner longuement.

Méditation
Tant de fois dans nos prières, nous demandons tellement de chose au Seigneur au point de passer à coté de l’éssentiel. La demande de salomon en ce jour doit nous faire comprendre que, dans la vie, il y a plus que le materiel. Sans des dons adéquats, il serait impossible de bien gerer le materiel. C’est ce que salomon a compris et que nous sommes appellé à comprendre à notre tour.

Like the choice fat of the sacred offerings, so was David in Israel. He made sport of lions as though they were kids, and of bears, like lambs of the flock. Since he called upon the Most High God, who gave strength to his right arm To defeat the skilled warrior and raise up the might of his people, Therefore the women sang his praises, and ascribed to him tens of thousands and praised him when they blessed the Lord. King Herod heard about Jesus, for his fame had become widespread, and people were saying, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead; That is why mighty powers are at work in him.” Others were saying, “He is Elijah”; still others, “He is a prophet like any of the prophets.” But when Herod learned of it, he said, “It is John whom I beheaded. He has been raised up.” Herod was the one who had John arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, whom he had married. John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so. Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him. Herodias had an opportunity one day when Herod, on his birthday, gave a banquet for his courtiers, his military officers, and the leading men of Galilee. His own daughter came in and performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you.” He even swore many things to her, “I will grant you whatever you ask of me, even to half of my kingdom.” She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask for?” Her mother replied, “The head of John the Baptist.” The girl hurried back to the king’s presence and made her request, “I want you to give me at once on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” The king was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests he did not wish to break his word to her. So he promptly dispatched an executioner with orders to bring back his head. He went off and beheaded him in the prison. He brought in the head on a platter and gave it to the girl. The girl in turn gave it to her mother. When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

Receive, holy Father, the offerings we bring in commemoration of the holy Martyrs, and grant that we, your servants, may be found steadfast in confessing your name. Through Christ our Lord.

O God, who in your holy Martyrs have wonderfully made known the mystery of the Cross, graciously grant that, drawing strength from this sacrifice, we may cling faithfully to Christ and labour in the Church for the salvation of all. Through Christ our Lord.
Meditation
“It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” David is hailed by Sirach as a great king of Israel because he loved God with his whole being and ruled according to the precepts of God. We honour John the Baptist as a saint because he spoke the truth even at the risk of his life. He stood up to Herod and condemned his wrongdoing, although he knew it was a dangerous thing to do. Being a Christian is a risky enterprise. The Christian has to speak the truth, condemn the ills of society and defend justice, and this will inevitably create enemies for him. He will step on the toes of people when he refuses to be corrupt or to tell lies, and when he points out their misdeeds. For this reason, he will be hated, mocked and despised. Obstacles will be placed on his path and he will be made to suffer. John the Baptist paid for his honesty with his life; St. Paul Miki and his companions, whom we remember today, were killed because they believed in Jesus; are you prepared to pay the price of being a Christian?

Première lecture : Si 47, 2-11
Dans le sacrifice de communion, on met à part la graisse des animaux offerts à Dieu ; ainsi David a été mis à part entre les fils d’Israël. Il a joué avec les lions comme si c’étaient des chevreaux, et avec les ours comme avec des agneaux. N’était-il pas tout jeune quand il a tué le géant et supprimé la honte de son peuple, lorsqu’il lança la pierre de sa fronde et abattit l’arrogance de Goliath ? Il invoqua le Seigneur Très-Haut qui a mis dans sa main la vigueur pour supprimer le puissant guerrier et pour exalter la force de son peuple. C’est pourquoi on lui a fait gloire des dizaines de milliers qu’il a tués: on l’a célébré en bénissant le Seigneur quand on lui a donné la glorieuse couronne royale. En effet, il a détruit les ennemis alentour, il a anéanti ses adversaires philistins, il a détruit leur force comme on le voit encore aujourd’hui. Dans tout ce qu’il a fait, il a célébré la louange du Saint, du Très-Haut, en proclamant sa gloire. De tout son cœur, il a chanté les psaumes, il a aimé son Créateur. Devant l’autel, il a placé des chantres, et leur voix rendit les mélodies plus douces ; chaque jour ils loueront Dieu par leurs chants. Il a donné de l’éclat aux fêtes, il a donné une parfaite splendeur aux solennités, pour que le saint nom du Seigneur soit célébré, et que les chants retentissent dans le sanctuaire dès le matin. Le Seigneur a enlevé les péchés de David, il a pour toujours exalté sa force, il a fondé sur lui l’Alliance avec sa dynastie, le trône de gloire d’Israël. – Parole du Seigneur.

- Notre Dieu a des chemins sans reproche, la parole du Seigneur est sans alliage, il est un bouclier pour qui s’abrite en lui. C’est le Dieu qui m’emplit de vaillance.
- Vive le Seigneur ! Béni soit mon Rocher ! Qu’il triomphe, le Dieu de ma victoire. Aussi, je te rendrai grâce parmi les peuples, Seigneur, je fêterai ton nom.
- Qui est Dieu, hormis le Seigneur? Il donne à son roi de grandes victoires, il se montre fidèle à son messie, à David et sa descendance, pour toujours.

En ce temps-là, comme le nom de Jésus devenait célèbre, le roi Hérode en entendit parler. On disait: «C’est Jean, celui qui baptisait : il est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et voilà pourquoi des miracles se réalisent par lui.» Certains disaient: «C’est le prophète Élie.» D’autres disaient encore: «C’est un prophète comme ceux de jadis.» Hérode entendait ces propos et disait: «Celui que j’ai fait décapiter, Jean, le voilà ressuscité!» Car c’était lui, Hérode, qui avait donné l’ordre d’arrêter Jean et de l’enchaîner dans la prison, à cause d’Hérodiade, la femme de son frère Philippe, que lui-même avait prise pour épouse. En effet, Jean lui disait: «Tu n’as pas le droit de prendre la femme de ton frère.» Hérodiade en voulait donc à Jean, et elle cherchait à le faire mourir. Mais elle n’y arrivait pas parce que Hérode avait peur de Jean : il savait que c’était un homme juste et saint, et il le protégeait; quand il l’avait entendu, il était très embarrassé; cependant il l’écoutait avec plaisir. Or, une occasion favorable se présenta quand, le jour de son anniversaire, Hérode fit un dîner pour ses dignitaires, pour les chefs de l’armée et pour les notables de la Galilée. La fille d’Hérodiade fit son entrée et dansa. Elle plut à Hérode et à ses convives. Le roi dit à la jeune fille: «Demande-moi ce que tu veux, et je te le donnerai.» Et il lui fit ce serment: «Tout ce que tu me demanderas, je te le donnerai, même si c’est la moitié de mon royaume.» Elle sortit alors pour dire à sa mère: «Qu’est-ce que je vais demander?» Hérodiade répondit: «La tête de Jean, celui qui baptise.» Aussitôt la jeune fille s’empressa de retourner auprès du roi, et lui fit cette demande : « Je veux que, tout de suite, tu me donnes sur un plat la tête de Jean le Baptiste.» Le roi fut vivement contrarié; mais à cause du serment et des convives, il ne voulut pas lui opposer un refus. Aussitôt il envoya un garde avec l’ordre d’apporter la tête de Jean. Le garde s’en alla décapiter Jean dans la prison. Il apporta la tête sur un plat, la donna à la jeune fille, et la jeune fille la donna à sa mère. Ayant appris cela, les disciples de Jean vinrent prendre son corps et le déposèrent dans un tombeau.

Méditation
Bien-aimé du Seigneur, en ce jour, nous sommes interpellés sur notre attitude vis-à-vis de ceux et celles qui dénoncent souvent nos méfaits. Sommes-nous souvent prompts à prendre leurs paroles comme des interpellations de Dieu à notre endroit ou cherchons-nous plutôt d’habitude à les faire taire ? En tant que chrétien, nous devons aimer les Jean Baptiste qui se retrouvent sur nos chemins car notre conversion dépend des paroles qu’ils nous adressent de la part de Dieu.

SAINTE AGATHE DE CATANE, VIERGE ET MARTYRE

Agathe, dont le nom évoque la bonté, était une jeune fille qui avait consacré sa virginité au Christ. Elle reçut de Dieu la force de verser son sang pour Celui qu’elle aimait. C’était en 251, à Catane en Sicile, durant la persécution de Dèce.
Antienne d’ouverture : Ps 105, 47
Sainte Agathe a combattu jusqu’à la mort pour être fidèle à son Dieu ; elle n’a pas craint les menaces des impies: elle était fondée sur le roc.
Prière d’ouverture
Que sainte Agathe implore pour nous ton pardon, Seigneur, Elle qui sut également te plaire par la consécration de sa virginité et par son courage dans le martyre. Par Jésus Christ.
1ère lecture : 1 R 2, 1-4.10-12
Comme les jours de David approchaient de leur fin, il exprima ses volontés à son fils Salomon : «Je m’en vais par le chemin de tout le monde. Sois fort, sois un homme courageux! Tu garderas les observances du Seigneur ton Dieu, en marchant dans ses chemins. Tu observeras ses décrets, ses commandements, ses ordonnances et ses édits, selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse. Ainsi tu réussiras dans tout ce que tu feras et entreprendras, et le Seigneur réalisera cette parole qu’il m’a dite: “Si tes fils veillent à suivre leur chemin en marchant devant moi avec loyauté, de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme, jamais tes descendants ne seront écartés du trône d’Israël.” David mourut, il reposa avec ses pères, et il fut enseveli dans la Cité de David. Le règne de David sur Israël avait duré quarante ans: il avait régné sept ans à Hébron, et trente-trois ans à Jérusalem. Salomon prit possession du trône de David son père, et sa royauté fut solidement établie.

En ce temps-là, Jésus appela les Douze ; alors il commença à les envoyer en mission deux par deux. Il leur donnait autorité sur les esprits impurs, et il leur prescrivit de ne rien prendre pour la route, mais seulement un bâton; pas de pain, pas de sac, pas de pièces de monnaie dans leur ceinture. «Mettez des sandales, ne prenez pas de tunique de rechange.» Il leur disait encore: «Quand vous avez trouvé l’hospitalité dans une maison, restez-y jusqu’à votre départ. Si, dans une localité, on refuse de vous accueillir et de vous écouter, partez et secouez la poussière de vos pieds: ce sera pour eux un témoignage.» Ils partirent, et proclamèrent qu’il fallait se convertir. Ils expulsaient beaucoup de démons, faisaient des onctions d’huile à de nombreux malades, et les guérissaient.

Méditation
Peuple de Dieu, les textes de ce jour nous invite à jeter un regard sur ce que bon nombre parmi nous pensent faire avant leur mort à savoir leur testament. Ordinairement, nous le concevons comme un recueil de répartition de bien entre les héritiers faisant fie de toutes paroles constructives qui pourraient aider nos progénitures à mieux vivre. Bien-aimé de Dieu, c’est dans ces moments de vive émotion que chaque parent à plus de chance de toucher de manière indélébile les consciences de leur progéniture. Il est donc bon de veiller à transmettre aux nouvelles générations des paroles marquantes pour leur vie tout comme David le fit en son temps avec son fils Salomon.

Collect
May the Virgin Martyr Saint Agatha implore your compassion for us, O Lord, we pray, for she found favour with you by the courage of her martyrdom and the merit of her chastity. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
First reading: 1 Kings 2:1-4, 10-12
When the time of David’s death drew near, he gave these instructions to his son Solomon: “I am going the way of all flesh. Take courage and be a man. Keep the mandate of the Lord, your God, following his ways and observing his statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees as they are written in the law of Moses, that you may succeed in whatever you do, wherever you turn, and the Lord may fulfill the promise he made on my behalf when he said, ‘If your sons so conduct themselves that they remain faithful to me with their whole heart and with their whole soul, you shall always have someone of your line on the throne of Israel.'” David rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. The length of David’s reign over Israel was forty years: he reigned seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem. Meditation
“He began to send them out two by two.” Jesus made his disciples missionaries, sending them out to preach and drive out demons. He reminded them of their status as missionaries after his resurrection, when he said to them, “As the Father sent me, so I am sending you” (Jn 20: 21). Like the disciples, you are a missionary. Jesus is sending you to your family, your school, your workplace, your meeting house, your friends and your acquaintances. Jesus is sending you to proclaim his Word in these places and to these people. He wants you to teach the people you encounter the right way to live and show them an example with your life. Just as David instructed his son Solomon on his deathbed, you have to exhort them to live in accordance with the Christian ideals of love, peace, justice and honesty. You have to help them to encounter God, love him and serve him. They may or may not listen to you or follow you, but you must make sure they see Jesus and hear his message through you. Go out to the whole world, proclaim the Good News!

Prince de la maison de Wessex. Il règne sur le royaume d’Angleterre de 1042 jusqu’à sa mort. Son règne est marqué par la paix et la prospérité. Sa grande piété lui vaut son surnom et le fait d’être ensuite canonisé en 1161. Trente-six ans après sa mort, on aurait ouvert son tombeau sans constater la moindre trace de décomposition du corps.

1ère lecture : 2 S 24, 2.9-17
En ces jours-là, le roi David dit à Joab, le chef de l’armée, qui était près de lui : «Parcourez toutes les tribus d’Israël, de Dane à Bershéba, et faites le recensement du peuple, afin que je connaisse le chiffre de la population.» Joab donna au roi les chiffres du recensement: Israël comptait huit cent mille hommes capables de combattre, et Juda cinq cent mille hommes. Mais après cela, le cœur de David lui battit d’avoir recensé le peuple, et il dit au Seigneur: «C’est un grand péché que j’ai commis! Maintenant, Seigneur, daigne passer sur la faute de ton serviteur, car je me suis vraiment conduit comme un insensé!» Le lendemain matin, David se leva. Or la parole du Seigneur avait été adressée au prophète Gad, le voyant attaché à David : «Va dire à David: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Je vais te présenter trois châtiments; choisis l’un d’entre eux, et je te l’infligerai.» Gad se rendit alors chez David et lui transmit ce message: «Préfères-tu qu’il y ait la famine dans ton pays pendant sept ans? Ou bien fuir devant tes adversaires lancés à ta poursuite, pendant trois mois? Ou bien la peste dans ton pays pendant trois jours? Réfléchis donc, et vois ce que je dois répondre à celui qui m’a envoyé.» David répondit au prophète Gad: «Je suis dans une grande angoisse… Eh bien ! tombons plutôt entre les mains du Seigneur, car sa compassion est grande, mais que je ne tombe pas entre les mains des hommes!» Le Seigneur envoya donc la peste en Israël dès le lendemain jusqu’à la fin des trois jours. Depuis Dane jusqu’à Bershéba, il mourut 70 000 hommes. Mais lorsque l’ange du Seigneur étendit la main vers Jérusalem pour l’exterminer, le Seigneur renonça à ce mal, et il dit à l’ange exterminateur : «Assez ! Maintenant, retire ta main. » L’ange du Seigneur se trouvait alors près de l’aire à grain d’Arauna le Jébuséen. David, en voyant l’ange frapper le peuple, avait dit au Seigneur : «C’est moi qui ai péché, c’est moi qui suis coupable ; mais ceux-là, le troupeau, qu’ont-ils fait? Que ta main s’appesantisse donc sur moi et sur la maison de mon père!»

R/ Enlève, Seigneur, l’offense de ma faute.
- Heureux l’homme dont la faute est enlevée, et le péché remis! Heureux l’homme dont le Seigneur ne retient pas l’offense, dont l’esprit est sans fraude!
- Je t’ai fait connaître ma faute, je n’ai pas caché mes torts. J’ai dit : «Je rendrai grâce au Seigneur en confessant mes péchés.» Et toi, tu as enlevé l’offense de ma faute.

N’est-il pas le charpentier, le fils de Marie, et le frère de Jacques, de José, de Jude et de Simon? Ses sœurs ne sont-elles pas ici chez nous?» Et ils étaient profondément choqués à son sujet. Jésus leur disait: «Un prophète n’est méprisé que dans son pays, sa parenté et sa maison.» Et là il ne pouvait accomplir aucun miracle; il guérit seulement quelques malades en leur imposant les mains. Et il s’étonna de leur manque de foi. Alors Jésus parcourait les villages d’alentour en enseignant.

Bien-aimé de Dieu, l’attitude que décrit le Christ aujourd’hui est celle dont nous faisons montre chaque jour tandis qu’il cherche à nous parler à travers nos proches. Bien des fois, nous manifestons ce manque de foi lorsque par exemple, nous avons vécu avec un frère ou une sœur qui avait beaucoup de défaut un qui avec le temps devient un consacré. Il souvent impossible pour lui de nous évangélisé parce que nous nous renfermons constamment sur ses origines et les trais de sa personnalité. Dieu, pour nous instruire, à besoin de ses médiations humaines fussent-elles nos familiers. Nous sommes donc appelés à les écouter afin de ne pas passer à coté de ses grâces.
