Meditation
After playing his role exceptionally well, John declares: «This same joy I feel, and now it is complete. He must grow greater; I must grow smaller.» In other words, «He must increase, while I decrease.» John’s purpose is to point the way to Christ, and with his mission fulfilled, he finds joy in stepping back. His happiness reaches completion when people go to Jesus because it is Jesus, not John himself, who brings salvation to humanity. Consequently, John willingly accepts to be entirely eclipsed by Jesus. John’s attitude serves as a beautiful example of humility for us. All our acts of piety, charity, and church engagements are worthless if they draw attention to us rather than to God. In all that we think, do, and say, we must strive to bring people to God, helping them discover His love and draw ever closer to Him. Following the example of John the Baptist, our happiness should lie in making Jesus, and not ourselves, known and loved in the world. Our focus should be on pointing Jesus to others, rather than drawing attention to ourselves.

La trentaine de jeunes Missionnaires Claretains que compte le Cameroun vient de participer durant 4 jours à la Session du quinquennat organisée par la Préfecture de Formation.
” L’Esprit Saint, l’âme de la mission et sceau de la fraternité”.Voici la thématique principale qui vient d’etre l’objet des réflexions et même d’un credo pour une vie Claretaine plus accord avec l’identité Claretaine ” Il n’y a pas de vie Claretaine sans vie fraternelle ” martelait alors un des conférencier.
C’est la Curie Casa Claret qui a été choisie comme cadre pour la tenue de la session de cette année 2025 . Ici , les participants ont partager leur séjour et leur temps au bénéfice d’exercices pluriels Ils ont agencé le spirituel et le ludique, le cognitif et le partage d’expériences missionnaires. Tout ceci avec pour objectif de consolider les liens de fraternité afin d’aborder la mission avec maturité sous l’égide de l’Esprit Saint, un Esprit divin qui est à la fois la source de chaque vocation missionnaire mais aussi le premier protagonistes de la mission. Les participants, conscients de leur engagement missionnaire repartent dans leurs lieux de mission ce jour avec pour defi de veiller sur la fraternité claretaine dans leurs différentes communautés, chose qui apportera sans doute l’efficacité dans leurs initiatives missionnaires.
Il était entré dans la vie religieuse pour y faire une riche et tranquille carrière. Et puis, un jour, marqué par la grâce de Dieu, il se convertit, se fit moine à Grandmont dans la Haute-Vienne. Il fut l’évêque des pauvres, ce qui lui valut l’opposition des chanoines de Bourges qui se sentaient délaissées, et du roi Philippe-Auguste à qui il reprochait son divorce et son remariage.

C’est lui, Jésus Christ, qui est venu par l’eau et par le sang: non pas seulement avec l’eau, mais avec l’eau et avec le sang. Et celui qui rend témoignage, c’est l’Esprit, car l’Esprit est la vérité. En effet, ils sont trois qui rendent témoignage, l’Esprit, l’eau et le sang, et les trois n’en font qu’un. Nous acceptons bien le témoignage des hommes; or, le témoignage de Dieu a plus de valeur, puisque le témoignage de Dieu, c’est celui qu’il rend à son Fils. Celui qui met sa foi dans le Fils de Dieu possède en lui-même ce témoignage. Celui qui ne croit pas Dieu, celui-là fait de Dieu un menteur, puisqu’il n’a pas mis sa foi dans le témoignage que Dieu rend à son Fils. Et ce témoignage, le voici: Dieu nous a donné la vie éternelle, et cette vie est dans son Fils. Celui qui a le Fils possède la vie; celui qui n’a pas le Fils de Dieu ne possède pas la vie. Je vous ai écrit cela pour que vous sachiez que vous avez la vie éternelle, vous qui mettez votre foi dans le nom du Fils de Dieu.

Jésus était dans une ville quand survint un homme couvert de lèpre; voyant Jésus, il tomba face contre terre et le supplia: «Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me purifier.» Jésus étendit la main et le toucha en disant: «Je le veux, sois purifié.» À l’instant même, la lèpre le quitta. Alors Jésus lui ordonna de ne le dire à personne: «Va plutôt te montrer au prêtre et donne pour ta purification ce que Moïse a prescrit ; ce sera pour tous un témoignage.» De plus en plus, on parlait de Jésus. Méditation
De l’eau pour purifier et régénérer, du sang pour guérir et sauver, mais aussi l’Esprit pour fortifier et manifester la vérité, ce sont là les puissances par lesquelles Dieu rend témoignage à son Fils et nous assure la victoire. C’est pourquoi saint Jean nous dit que « celui qui met sa foi dans le Fils de Dieu possède », la main du Seigneur qui assure la victoire est sur lui. Notre plus grand bien serait donc de posséder le Christ, d’être en Lui et de lui rendre témoignage. Dans la page d’évangile de ce jour, par son « je le veux, sois purifié » rétorqué au lépreux, Jésus assume sa mission salvifique de ramener les hommes dans le cours de la vie et de leur être complaisant chaque fois que, dans la prière, ils le solliciteront. Ne restons plus au bord du chemin, prenons le mouvement de la vie dont la foi et la prière sont la clé d’effectivité.

Jesus was in one of the towns when a man appeared, covered with leprosy. Be cured!’ And the leprosy left him at once. Meditation
The special touch of mercy that Jesus extends to the leper portrays an extraordinary transformation encounter. This man, ravaged by leprosy, a disease that not only disfigures but brands him “unclean,” receives the life-transforming touch of Jesus, who breaks the societal norms, shatters the walls of exclusion, and division by declaring the formerly unclean man as now clean. By reaching out and gently touching the leper, Jesus transforms the once-rejected individual into one who is now whole, and accepted by society. However, Jesus’ healing extends beyond the leper’s body; it encompasses his soul, dignity, and place in the world. The leper receives the miracle because he refuses to allow his fears paralyse and hinder him from reaching the source of his salvation. With courage, he cries out to Jesus, pleading for his healing touch. Let us, too, summon the courage to approach Jesus, seeking His help to bring healing and wholeness into our own lives and those around us.

Meditation Our Gospel presents a pivotal moment in Jesus’ life as He returns to Nazareth, His hometown, and enters the synagogue where he grew up and worshipped with His family and friends. After reading the prophecy of Isaiah, He makes a powerful announcement: “This text is being fulfilled today even as you listen.” With this pronouncement, He identifies himself as the Messiah whose mission is to bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to the captives, and open the eyes of the blind. He asserts that He has come to fulfil all the prophecies about the arrival of a saviour, an astonishing and even blasphemous assertion to the ears of His fellow Jews. For us today, Jesus represents the source of hope and healing in our lives. Just as He opened the eyes of the blind in the Gospel, He has the power to open our own eyes to the truth of God’s love. He breaks the chains that bind us and sets us free. To experience this transformation, we must develop a renewed faith in Jesus Christ and believe that He is the one who makes our lives whole.

En effet, celui qui n’aime pas son frère, qu’il voit, est incapable d’aimer Dieu, qu’il ne voit pas. Et voici le commandement que nous tenons de lui : celui qui aime Dieu, qu’il aime aussi son frère. Celui qui croit que Jésus est le Christ, celui-là est né de Dieu ; celui qui aime le Père qui a engendré aime aussi le Fils qui est né de lui. Jésus referma le livre, le rendit au servant et s’assit. Tous, dans la synagogue, avaient les yeux fixés sur lui. Alors il se mit à leur dire: «Aujourd’hui s’accomplit ce passage de l’Écriture que vous venez d’entendre.» Tous lui rendaient témoignage et s’étonnaient des paroles de grâce qui sortaient de sa bouche.

Méditation
L’amour est divin et la haine est diabolique. L’œuvre divine est constructive et celle du diable est destructrice. Mise en miroir, quelle image la vérité de cette affirmation nous renvoie-t-elle de nous-mêmes ? Dans la première lecture, saint Jean nous rappelle que c’est par la foi que nous sommes vainqueurs. En effet, la foi nous unit au Christ et nous rend participants de sa victoire, par solidarité mystique. En effet, en Jésus-Christ, l’Esprit du Seigneur nous introduits continuellement dans l’aujourd’hui de l’action divine qui est bienfaisante et libératrice. Ne nous laissons plus abattre par des difficultés de la vie : la puissance de victoire est en nous, le Christ, dont nous sommes les membres du corps.

Meditation
The disciples’ struggle against the wind and waves on Lake Galilee serves as a metaphor for our battles against life’s adversities, difficulties, and temptations. Life for a Christian often feels like rowing against the wind. We endure persecutions for our convictions. We are sometimes forced into conflicts with people when we stand against injustice and oppression. Amid these storms, Jesus comes to us and tells us, “Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid”. If we welcome Him into our lives and trust Him, He will calm the storms, providing the strength for us to move forward and overcome all our difficulties. In reality, a dream or epiphany can turn into a nightmare when seen through the lens of fear; a stepping-stone can become a stumbling block, becoming a barricade when seen through the prism of horror. Fear is the only reason Jesus appears to His followers as a ghost. However, for those who allow Jesus into their boat, even the approach of death becomes an assurance of salvation.

Quand il les eut congédiés, il s’en alla sur la montagne pour prier. Le soir venu, la barque était au milieu de la mer et lui, tout seul, à terre. Voyant qu’ils peinaient à ramer, car le vent leur était contraire, il vient à eux vers la fin de la nuit en marchant sur la mer, et il voulait les dépasser. L’homme a été fait à l’image de Dieu et Dieu, en Jésus-Christ, s’est fait homme. Il y a ici une double convergence entre la divinité et l’humanité. Le second mystère (incarnation) permet à l’homme de trouver à la fois le prototype de cette image et la modalité de cet accomplissement qui ne peut être effective sans Dieu. Un appel à cultiver la pleine assurance en Dieu et en son amour qui ne doit faire aucune place à la crainte, à aucun doute sous quelque forme que soit. La houle, les tempêtes, les angoisses et les autres agitations ne devraient normalement plus nous ébranler. Croyons-nous vraiment que Jésus est vainqueur ? Meditation
A mission that attends to both the spiritual and physical needs of the congregation is no longer common in our era. However, this is precisely the message Jesus conveys in today’s gospel reading. His teaching is the expression of the compassion He feels for the crowd. This passage resonates with echoes from the Old Testament. The fact that Jesus takes upon himself the role of shepherd of this flock echoes the Mosaic motive found in the book of Numbers 27:17. The nature of this ‘gift miracle’ is reminiscent of Elijah (cf. 1Kings 17:8-16; 2 Kings 4:1-7; 2 Kings 4:42-44), particularly evident in the correlation between Mark 6:34-44 and 2 Kings 4:42-44. Yet, in the case of Jesus, there is an eschatological significance; it prefigures the forthcoming eschatological feast in the kingdom of God. Notably, Jesus gives thanks to God for the little he has and which he shares with the multitude. In examining the Gospel of John 6:1-13, we discover the source of the materials for the miracle – a small boy presents the bread and the fish. This episode underscores the transformative power of the little we have when offered in an unselfish sacrifice.

Méditation
« S’il me manque l’amour, je ne suis rien », nous dit Saint Paul dans sa première aux Corinthiens. Si le chrétien par définition se dit d’une personne qui croit en Christ et s’engage à le refléter dans sa vie, comment pensons-nous nous l’assumer si nous nous accommodons à faire fleurir le péché dans nos vies ? La foi nous rend responsables les uns des autres. Pour cela, redonnons place à la compassion, à la sensibilité à l’endroit de nos prochains, au partage. Le jeune homme aux pains et aux poissons aurait pu garder ses provisions pour lui seul, ainsi que nous le voyons couramment de nos jours dans nos familles et dans notre monde. Nos cœurs s’assèchent de plus en plus au vent de l’égoïsme, de l’indifférence et de l’individualisme. Demandons la grâce au Seigneur d’habiter de nouveau une humanité plus ouverte et sensible à nos prochains.
