He was the son of a pagan father and a Christian mother. He worked hard for the conversion of his country to Christianity, setting up both episcopal sees and monasteries. He was crowned the first King of Hungary in 1001.

Meditation
Jesus seeks to reaffirm the indissolubility of the sacred institution of Marriage. He establishes hardheartedness as the root cause of marital separation. Hardheartedness is the internal resistance to commune, so be in union with God. Therefore, marital separation is not just an outcome of external relational incompatibility. It manifests a deeper alienation from the Principal Author of Vocations. In the sacrament of Matrimony, God is the Principal Caller. He invites couples to respond to the call of perpetual commitment to one other. He then binds and recreates the two hearts into one flesh. The Perfect God empties Himself into their imperfections. He therefore refills, sanctifies and justifies them. There is a scarcity of marital unions rooted in sacrificial self-giving. We must return to Christ, who breaks himself to unite us. He sacrifices himself to heal the wounds of brokenness created by powerful forces of separation.
The commemoration of the death of the Blessed Virgin is known as the Assumption because of the tradition that her body did not decay but that she was raised up, body and soul, into heaven. The Apostolic Constitution “Munificentissimus Deus, 44” of Pius XII teaches that “the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.”

She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? For the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’ And Mary said: ‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit exults in God my saviour; because he has looked upon his lowly handmaid. Meditation
After a major surgical operation, a man asked why he freely donated one of his kidneys to his mother. He replied smiling, “Without her decision to bring me into this world, I would have never seen the light of the day.” Mothers are special. They carried us in their wombs for many months, nourished us as infants, and cared for us as we grew. Our Blessed Virgin Mother is not only full of grace (Lk 1: 28), but she is also the Mother of God. We can recall how she facilitated Christ’s first miracle at the Cana wedding (Jn 2: 1-12). More so, Christ loved her so that He had to put her in the care of His beloved Apostle St John (Jn 19:25-27). By the Assumption of Mary, the Churches teaches that she was glorified at the end of her earthly pilgrimage. She is our mother, and her heart is full of love and mercy for her children. Her glorious Assumption gives us hope that she had gone to intercede for us. It is our hope that one day we shall join her in heaven with her son.

1ère lecture : Ap 11, 19a ; 12, 1-6a.10ab
Le sanctuaire de Dieu, qui est dans le ciel, s’ouvrit, et l’arche de son Alliance apparut dans le Sanctuaire. Un grand signe apparut dans le ciel : une Femme, ayant le soleil pour manteau, la lune sous les pieds, et sur la tête une couronne de douze étoiles. Elle est enceinte, elle crie, dans les douleurs et la torture d’un enfantement. Un autre signe apparut dans le ciel : un grand dragon, rouge feu, avec sept têtes et dix cornes, et, sur chacune des sept têtes, un diadème. Sa queue, entraînant le tiers des étoiles du ciel, les précipita sur la terre. Le Dragon vint se poster devant la femme qui allait enfanter, afin de dévorer l’enfant dès sa naissance. Or, elle mit au monde un fils, un enfant mâle, celui qui sera le berger de toutes les nations, les conduisant avec un sceptre de fer. L’enfant fut enlevé jusqu’auprès de Dieu et de son Trône, et la Femme s’enfuit au désert, où Dieu lui a préparé une place. Alors j’entendis dans le ciel une voix forte, qui proclamait : « Maintenant voici le salut, la puissance et le règne de notre Dieu, voici le pouvoir de son Christ ! »

2ème lecture : 1 Co 15, 20-27a
Frères, le Christ est ressuscité d’entre les morts, lui, premier ressuscité parmi ceux qui se sont endormis. Car, la mort étant venue par un homme, c’est par un homme aussi que vient la résurrection des morts. En effet, de même que tous les hommes meurent en Adam, de même c’est dans le Christ que tous recevront la vie, mais chacun à son rang: en premier, le Christ, et ensuite, lors du retour du Christ, ceux qui lui appartiennent. Alors, tout sera achevé, quand le Christ remettra le pouvoir royal à Dieu son Père, après avoir anéanti, parmi les êtres célestes, toute Principauté, toute Souveraineté et Puissance. Car c’est lui qui doit régner jusqu’au jour où Dieu aura mis sous ses pieds tous ses ennemis. Et le dernier ennemi qui sera anéanti, c’est la mort, car il a tout mis sous ses pieds.

En ces jours-là, Marie se mit en route et se rendit avec empressement vers la région montagneuse, dans une ville de Judée. Elle entra dans la maison de Zacharie et salua Élisabeth. Or, quand Élisabeth entendit la salutation de Marie, l’enfant tressaillit en elle. Alors, Élisabeth fut remplie d’Esprit Saint, et s’écria d’une voix forte : « Tu es bénie entre toutes les femmes, et le fruit de tes entrailles est béni. D’où m’est-il donné que la mère de mon Seigneur vienne jusqu’à moi ? Car, lorsque tes paroles de salutation sont parvenues à mes oreilles, l’enfant a tressailli d’allégresse en moi. Heureuse celle qui a cru à l’accomplissement des paroles qui lui furent dites de la part du Seigneur. » Marie dit alors : « Mon âme exalte le Seigneur, exulte mon esprit en Dieu, mon Sauveur ! Il s’est penché sur son humble servante ; désormais tous les âges me diront bienheureuse. Le Puissant fit pour moi des merveilles; Saint est son nom ! Sa miséricorde s’étend d’âge en âge sur ceux qui le craignent. Déployant la force de son bras, il disperse les superbes. Il renverse les puissants de leurs trônes, il élève les humbles. Il comble de biens les affamés, renvoie les riches les mains vides. Il relève Israël son serviteur, il se souvient de son amour, de la promesse faite à nos pères, en faveur d’Abraham et sa descendance à jamais. » Marie resta avec Élisabeth environ trois mois, puis elle s’en retourna chez elle.

Méditation
« Il élève les humbles. » Telles sont les paroles de Marie en ce jour de l’Assomption. La vocation de Marie a quelque chose de spécifique par rapport à son fils. Le Magnificat soulignait déjà cette dimension d’exaltation. Qui mieux que Marie, à la suite du Christ, a su vivre ce mouvement d’humilité, depuis son écoute attentive et son obéissance effective à la voix du messager de Dieu, jusqu’à son silence au pied de la croix? Il y a là pour nous une promesse. Marie, la première, nous ouvre la voie de la résurrection bienheureuse par le simple geste de la foi humble et confiante. C’est là notre chemin de vérité et de bonheur éternels.
Arrêté en février 1941, il est déporté au camp d’Auschwitz au mois de mai. A la suite d’une évasion, dix prisonniers sont condamnés à mourir de faim, enfermés dans un bunker. Il ya parmi eux un père de famille. Maximilien Kolbe demande à mourir à sa place. Il sera le dernier à mourir dans le bunker après avoir aidé ses compagnons dans la patience, la paix et le réconfort

1ère lecture : Ézéchiel 9, 1-7,10:18-22
J’entendis le Seigneur Dieu me crier d’une voix forte : « Ils sont tout proches, les châtiments de Jérusalem, et chacun tient à la main son arme de mort. »
Alors six hommes s’avancèrent, venant de la porte supérieure, celle qui est du côté nord. Chacun tenait à la main son arme de destruction. Au milieu d’eux, un homme, vêtu de lin, portant à la ceinture une écritoire de scribe. Ils s’avancèrent, et s’arrêtèrent près de l’autel de bronze. La gloire du Dieu d’Israël s’éleva au-dessus des Kéroubim où elle reposait, et se dirigea vers le seuil de la maison du Seigneur. Alors le Seigneur appela l’homme vêtu de lin, portant à la ceinture une écritoire de scribe. Il lui dit : « Passe à travers la ville, à travers Jérusalem, et marque d’une croix au front ceux qui gémissent et qui se lamentent sur toutes les abominations qu’on y commet. » Puis j’entendis le Seigneur dire aux autres : « Passez derrière lui à travers la ville, et frappez. N’ayez pas un regard de pitié, n’épargnez personne : vieillards et jeunes gens, jeunes filles, enfants, femmes, tuez-les, exterminez-les. Mais tous ceux qui sont marqués au front, ne les touchez pas. Commencez l’extermination par mon sanctuaire. » Ils commencèrent donc par les vieillards qui adoraient les idoles à l’entrée de la maison du Seigneur. Le Seigneur ajouta: « Rendez impure cette Maison, emplissez les cours de cadavres, puis sortez !» Ils sortirent donc et frappèrent à travers la ville. La gloire du Seigneur quitta le seuil de la Maison et s’arrêta au-dessus des Kéroubim. Ceux-ci déployèrent leurs ailes ; je les vis partir en s’élevant de terre, et les roues avec eux. Ils s’arrêtèrent à l’entrée de la porte orientale de la maison du Seigneur ; la gloire du Dieu d’Israël était au-dessus d’eux. C’étaient les Vivants que j’avais vus au-dessous du Dieu d’Israël, près du fleuve Kebar, et je reconnus que c’étaient des Kéroubim. Chacun avait quatre faces et quatre ailes, et une forme de mains humaines sous ses ailes. Leurs faces étaient semblables aux faces que j’avais vues près du fleuve Kebar ; tel était leur aspect.

Méditation Le miracle de la présence du Christ se retrouve en sa présence dans l’Eucharistie et dans la Parole, il est présent en personne avec nous quand nous sommes unis ensemble en tant qu’Église, en tant que son corps. Nous oublions souvent cette présence, justement quand nous pouvons parler avec lui et lui demander de satisfaire nos besoins. Sa présence a un caractère eschatologique et nous dirige tous vers le Royaume Ce n’est pas une présence pour ce monde seulement, mais pour l’éternité. Puisque son amour est éternel, sa présence aussi nous permet de tout regarder sous l’angle de l’éternité. Car il nous a aimés, avant la création du monde, pour partager avec nous son amour que nous rejetons si souvent. Il est avec nous et sera avec nous pour toujours. À la lumière de sa présence, nos péchés s’effacent et disparaissent. Le Seigneur vient vers nous comme quelqu’un de proche, plus proche de nous que nous ne sommes proches les uns des autres, et il est avec nous tous les jours, jusqu’à la fin du monde.
He was born on 8 January 1894 in occupied Poland: he joined the Franciscans in Lwów in 1910. In 1941 he was arrested and sent to Auschwitz. A prisoner escaped, and in reprisal the authorities were choosing ten people to die by starvation. One of the men had a family, and Maximilian Kolbe offered to take his place. He died in the man’s place.

Each had four faces and four wings and what seemed to be human hands under their wings. Their faces were just as I had seen them beside the river Chebar. Each moved straight forward.

Meditation
“Treat him like a pagan or a tax collector.” It would be tempting to quickly tap into the hatred that the Jews held against the Gentiles and Tax collectors. But how did Jesus himself treat the Gentiles and the tax collectors? Forgiveness flows from God’s identity as loving and compassionate. Thus, forgiveness is a God-given gift. Jesus offers several pathways towards reconciliation, and forgiveness is indispensable. When Jesus met Matthew, the tax collector, he invited him to follow him. When Jesus met Zacchaeus, the tax collector, he asked for an encounter in Zacchaeus’s house where remorse, repentance, reparation and change happened. A Heart that persists on the pathway of forgiveness encounters a Kairos moment when an offender yearns for forgiveness. Too many families, homes, institutions, and nations suffer division because people do not walk on the path of forgiveness.
Le 13 Août 2024, dans la Paroisse Saint Joseph d’Efoulan à Ekali (Mbalmayo), 07 novices ont émis leur première profession entre les mains du Très révérend Père Jude Thaddeus LANGEH, Cmf, Supérieur Majeur de la Délégation Indépendante du Cameroun. Ces novices sont originaires de 04 nationalités: Cameroun (04), Togo (01), Burkina Faso (01) et Côte d’Ivoire (01).
Le Très révérend Père Jude Thaddeus LANGEH, Cmf etait accompagné de ses conseillers et plusieurs autres confrères clarétains. En présence du peuple de Dieu, des autres religieux et religieuses ainsi que les autres prêtres, ces jeunes se sont engagés à vivre le style de Jésus Christ pauvre, chaste et obéissant.

Meditation
The disciples were preoccupied with social status as an indicator of greatness. Jesus, on the other hand, presents humility as the marker of greatness. We live in a period dominated by slogans of ‘Me First’. Through Humility, Jesus highlights the transformative power of placing ‘Others First’. Humility enables us to count ourselves as unworthy, not because we have nothing to offer but because we stand in awe of God’s great privileges. We appreciate how blessed we are to call God, Abba-Father, and so become His children. As God’s children, we acknowledge our vulnerability and total dependency on Him. We, therefore, develop a deep sense of empathy and an inner disposition to accommodate and place others first. Humility helps us to recognize that although we could be intellectually gifted, there is still much more that we don’t know. Further still, we could be morally strong now but still very vulnerable to moral pitfalls in the future. We must avail ourselves of our presence and resources in uplifting others into greatness.

Méditation Que ce passage est beau ! Il ne s’agit pas de céder à des stupidités immatures ou infantiles, il s’agit des « petits » et ils sont nombreux ceux à qui le Père révèle ses secrets. Petits par l’humilité ; petits par manque de connaissance; petits par simplicité de cœur, petits parce que petits à côtés des grands ; petits parfois parce que méprisés ; petits car on les entend peu puisque d’autres parlent trop fort ; petits parce qu’on a oublié de les regarder ; petits parce qu’ils souffrent en silence et personne n’entend leur cri ; petits parce que perdus, égarés. Et ce sont eux les grands, eux que Jésus bénit et embrasse parce que leurs anges à eux aussi voient la face de son Père; grands car ils savent qu’ils ne sont que ce qu’ils sont ; grands par leur confiance en l’autre ; grands car ils savent dire simplement, en vérité, « Aide-moi » ; grands car Jésus s’est fait lui-même petit enfant, lui l’Enfant du Père.
C’est dans la joie et l’action de grâce que le Très Révérend Père Jude Thaddeus LANGEH, Cmf, Supérieur Majeur de la Délégation Indépendante du Cameroun accueilli, pendant les vêpres solennelles 13 nouveaux jeunes au Noviciat “Anton Probst” d’EKALI dans le diocèse de Mbalmayo.
Ces jeunes, originaires de 10 nationalités entament une étape très capitale dans la formation des Missionnaires Fils du Cœur Immaculé de Marie (Missionnaires Claretains). Il s’agit d’une année (365 jours) d’initiation à la vie missionnaire. C’est une période de formation approfondie qui amène les jeunes à connaitre la congrégation et le fondateur en particulier et la vie religieuse en général. Le Noviciat est un cadre favorable à l’étude, au travail manuel, à la prière, la méditation et à la vie communautaire.
Avant de les confier au maitre des novices (P. Rodolphe MBIDA, Cmf) le Très Révérend Père Jude Thaddeus LANGEH, Cmf a exhorté ces jeunes à approfondir leur compréhension des vœux , de la vie religieuse afin de mieux répondre à l’appel de Dieu pour notre monde présent
Béatifié le 24 avril 1994 pendant le premier Synode des évêques pour l’Afrique, Isidore Bakanja était catéchumène chez les pères Trappistes, à Mbandaka, au Zaïre, actuel Congo démocratique. Répugnant sa dévotion profonde au Christ le patron dont il était le domestique le fit battre à mort. Âgé de 29 ans, il rendit l’âme le 12 août 1909.

Le cinq du mois, la cinquième année de la déportation du roi Jékonias, la parole de Dieu fut adressée à Ézékiel, fils du prêtre Bouzi, dans le pays des Chaldéens, au bord du fleuve Kebar. La main du Seigneur se posa sur lui. J’ai vu : un vent de tempête venant du nord, un gros nuage, un feu jaillissant et, autour, une clarté ; au milieu, comme un scintillement de vermeil du milieu du feu. Au milieu, la forme de quatre Vivants ; elle paraissait une forme humaine. Ils avaient chacun quatre faces et chacun quatre ailes. J’entendis le bruit de leurs ailes, pareil, quand ils marchaient, au bruit des grandes eaux, pareil à la voix du Puissant, une rumeur comme celle d’une armée. Lorsqu’ils s’arrêtaient, ils laissaient retomber leurs ailes. On entendit un bruit venant de plus haut que le firmament qui était au-dessus de leurs têtes. Au-dessus de ce firmament, il y avait une forme de trône, qui ressemblait à du saphir ; et, sur ce trône, quelqu’un qui avait l’aspect d’un être humain, au-dessus, tout en haut. Puis j’ai vu comme un scintillement de vermeil, comme l’aspect d’un feu qui l’enveloppait tout autour, à partir de ce qui semblait être ses reins et au-dessus. À partir de ce qui semblait être ses reins et au-dessous, j’ai vu comme l’aspect d’un feu et, autour, une clarté. Comme l’arc apparaît dans la nuée un jour de pluie, ainsi cette clarté à l’entour : c’était l’aspect, la forme de la gloire du Seigneur. À cette vue, je tombai face contre terre, et j’entendis une voix qui me parlait.

En ce temps-là, comme Jésus et les disciples étaient réunis en Galilée, il leur dit : « Le Fils de l’homme va être livré aux mains des hommes; ils le tueront et, le troisième jour, il ressuscitera.» Et ils furent profondément attristés. Comme ils arrivaient à Capharnaüm, ceux qui perçoivent la redevance des deux drachmes pour le Temple vinrent trouver Pierre et lui dirent: « Votre maître paye bien les deux drachmes, n’est-ce pas ? Il répondit: « Oui. » Quand Pierre entra dans la maison, Jésus prit la parole le premier: « Simon, quel est ton avis ?Les rois de la terre, de qui perçoivent-ils les taxes ou l’impôt ? De leurs fils, ou des autres personnes ? » Pierre lui répondit: «Des autres. » Et Jésus reprit : « Donc, les fils sont libres. Mais, pour ne pas scandaliser les gens, va donc jusqu’à la mer, jette l’hameçon, et saisis le premier poisson qui mordra ; ouvre-lui la bouche, et tu y trouveras une pièce de quatre drachmes. Prends-la, tu la donneras pour moi et pour toi. »

Méditation
Jésus, comme tout un chacun, se trouve aux prises avec le service d’impôts! Il semble qu’il ait un peu traîné pour payer la redevance de deux drachmes, c’est pourquoi les percepteurs s’approchent de Pierre pour l’interroger au sujet de son maître. Mais Jésus manifeste sa liberté de Fils de Dieu. Si Jésus est Fils de Dieu, il n’a pas de redevance à régler à son Père qui est le seul roi digne de ce nom. Et pourtant, Jésus fait preuve de la plus grande pondération à l’égard des autorités humaines: il est nécessaire de ne pas faire scandale à leur égard. Aussi, Jésus se conforme-t-il aux règles en vigueur, tout en affirmant l’ordre véritable de toutes choses. Nous-mêmes, à sa suite, sommes appelés à la conscience de l’équilibre entre l’ordre temporel et l’ordre spirituel.
